I had my very first art lesson at Mititels art in Santa Monica on Santa Monica Blvd., and sixth Street I believe in 1962. Mr. Mattel was amazing so kind and inspirational. I will never forget him. The art store had every supplies you could want. We are so blessed that his sons have continued with his tradition and brought us another wonderful, art supply framing store!

We were in a pinch. 16 custom frames my company had ordered never arrived a day before a major executive event. After a colleague and I searched the greater Santa Monica area and were told no so many time we found our savior...Mittel's. They had some of what we needed in stock, but had to build the majority. With an extreme time crunch they took on the task with a smile (despite having a very late work night) and produced a beautiful order of many frames and mattes that we could not have been happier with. Our Fortune 500 international execs knew none the wiser of our mishap and were thoroughly impressed with what they received. I would trust Mittel's with anything small to large in a heartbeat. Thank you all so very much!

Limited art supplies and lacks variety, seems there is more framing going on. What disappointed the most was although I spent money on quite a few items the grumpy owner couldn't be bothered to let me connect to wifi so that I could book an Uber, I was with my two young daughters who were tired from walking, even so it didn't seem to matter much to him. As I am visiting from the UK I am not roaming and rely on wifi to get me around, which has been easy enough until now. Shouldn't have made the trip, all round a disappointing experience.

I love Mittels! I've had a watercolor that had a terrible frame and wanted to reframe for over a year but wasn't feeling confident with the framers I talked to. Then I remembered Mittels and so glad I did. They did an AMAZING job. They let me take as long as I needed to choose what I wanted and we tried so many combinations even when it was after closing. They just have the experience to instill confidence and all previous indecisiveness was resolved. Just got it back and I'm so happy with it. Not surprising. it's a family business that has been here since just after WW2 So incredibly experienced.

I can't recommend this place enough, a mom and pop that does phenomenal work. I've completed 3 projects now and each one was better than the last. They do such beautiful work. If you have some pictures laying around and think you could frame them up and make them look nice, stop by here and get a consultation. Seriously I can't express enough how great of work they do here. Thanks John you are the man!

The only place I go to buy clay. Its never old and hard, but fresh and easy to throw clay with a lot of selection. They also carry basic pottery tools.
