For over 20 years, I have frequented this location using my wife's membership card more often by myself than with her presence, along with car service. On April 20th, around 11:10 am, I presented the same card to cashier, who, for the first time ever, asked me who the member was. I simply replied that it is my wife. Cashier then asked if she was in the store, to which I responded no, explaining that I was accompanied only by my 16 yr old son that day. He informed me that, unfortunately, store policy required her presence for purchases to be made that day. I kindly requested an exception, explaining that this was the first time I had been informed of this policy, and I urgently needed the items I intended to purchase. I assured him that I would not return without my wife or would add my name to the membership. However, cashier became loud, seemingly wanting others to hear him, stating that he was just doing his job and that other cashiers were not following protocol that he will not lose his job for me. Feeling taken back I told him that he shouldn't be yelling at me and requested to speak with a manager. Despite my request, cashier continued to raise his voice, asserting that being loud was his manner of speaking. A supervisor arrived and before I could say anything further, cashier informed her that the member was not present, and he was refusing to proceed with the transaction. The supervisor removed me from the line, and despite my understanding of the policy, I requested that the account be noted that I've been informed or something accordingly but pleaded to complete my necessary purchase. Unfortunately, the supervisor declined my request. Upon confirming she was not the store manager, I requested assistance from the store manager, who reiterated the same information, stating that no exceptions would be made this day. Frustrated by the situation, I did not raise my voice but did dispose the two hotdogs my son had purchased while we waited in line for the cashier to yell at us. Then I did request store manager to refund for the food and the names of the employees involved. It was not my proudest moment, especially with my teenager present, but the tone set by the cashier was distressing. I had intended to make significant and large item purchases, and my son was there to assist me. Unfortunately, being turned away for the first time in 20 years, especially cashiers reaction that quickly with that tone, left me feeling disheartened and unsettled.

This place is a circus compared to the other Costco's and the new manager Antonio must be the ring leader. He decided to not allow me to use my company Costco card that I am a signer on (as well as company owner) and have been using for years without even verifying. First time I've ever left Costco without buying anything in my life and this child manager chose to do this over $8 worth of water you gotta be kidding me. You guys hired a real winner there.

Had a bad experience in the tire department, my wifes car had a nail, and they had me waiting for an hour in a half to tell me that it needed a new tire , i told the tire installer , that they couldn't patch it, waisted all this time , the nail was not on the side it was an inch inside the treads , they could've told me that they will patch it, but they didn't guarantee it, that's all they could've done turn off seven and wait for an hour and a half like an idiot.

The greeter at the front, Bryan, questioned the validity of my service dog. He tried to be smart with me because he thought my dog was a puppy, but he does not have the right to even ask that question. Instead of a smooth process, I did not even have the confidence to go in and I sat at the front trying to recalibrate my anxiety. Train your workers on ADA.

Costco is Costco - it's the same experience no matter which location you go to. This one is a little spicier since it's in the good ol' hood of Van Nuys! Parking lot is Thunderdome as everyone drives it like they stole it! You better put a pep in your step and keep it moving until you get to the safety of the inside deathmatch! It's free-for-all walking around and there's no mercy in this dojo! It's quite the obstacle course dodging the elderly, the jerkasaurus customers who needlessly create traffic jams by stopping in the most inconvenient spots, kids trying to escape from their parent's clutches, people trying free samples like they've never eaten or drank anything before, spillage in aisles, people using their carts like battering rams, sad sack entitled brats, etc... You never know what you're gonna run into so limber up - remember movement is life! You can buy most everything you need in bulk to hunker down for weeks/months, visit the optometry section so your eyes don't rot and stuff your face with cheap eats from the food court as you contemplate your life's decisions that led you to spend more than you originally anticipated. Costco is where dreams are made or shattered, strength is forged in fire and a hot dog costs $1.50!

1010 always the best selection and a ton of stuff! Love the samples I usually end up buying whatever they have to sample. Tons of options, great prices to buy in bulk! The premade food selection is incredible, the salads, sandwiches, wraps, fish etc is all phenomenal. Pickup the croissants, muffins and cookies for a party or to enjoy all week long. The best prices on fish and meat! Come here to find everything from vacation deals, to furniture, cheap gas and electronics. I come here to do a large portion of grocery shopping and am always satisfied with the selection, prices and quality! Thanks to the hard workers here for keeping this location stocked, clean and accessible. Huge parking lot outside and easy to find. Produce is fresh and plentiful, but what's in season and you'll be pleased with the taste and quality. I sampled lots of yummy new things today and filed up cart with them! Self checkout and grab a box is the move! You'll need to be a Costco member to shop here The market that sells hot dogs etc is good for a quick fix, large pizzas are cheap!

Jorge must be desperate for a new membership he would do something illegal and desperate in attempt to try to open an account. In 2016 I opened an account on behalf of a previous employer under their EIN and was put on as an authorized user for the business. I haven't used the account since 2017 and it is legally not mine as it was opened under an EIN belonging to the business. He said he couldn't open a personal account because a business account existed with my name on it. That's a Costco problem. Your customers should be able to have a personal and business membership even if it's just for the convenience of accounting for a business and house hold. He insisted on reopening that account even though I told him I have no claim to that account or EIN and it would be illegal. It belongs to the owners of the EIN. In top of this he was very pushy and tried to sell me every single product you guys offer to new members and would not say no when I told him I just wanted to open a gold star membership. Like read the room bro. The experience was horrible from the jump just based off how pushy he was. When I reiterated the time of membership I wanted his tone and demeanor got less and less friendly. When a manager came over to help he again insisted on highjacking the account I am not entitled to and have no ownership over. I was just the employee that opened the account. The fact that his ONLY solution to provide me would to reopen an account that is not mine is crazy. Costco do better for your current and prospective customers.

The place is pretty good but a lot of shoppers are retards. Holding up entire isles of traffic so they can wait for a parking spot when there are more literally 3 cars down. Ridiculous crowd. Parking is absolutely plentiful closer to the north and east side. It has never been 100% full, just full of lazyand inconsiderate people who think they’re the only ones on this planet.

February 25,2024.A recent encounter with Costco's customer service left much to be desired. The experience was marred by extensive waiting times in line to get the food, which significantly tested patience and resulted in frustration among customers. Compounding the issue, there was not clear of signs indicating where to get the food. After enduring a 45-minute wait in line, I reached the front only to be informed by the attendant that I needed to queue up in another line for my order. When I questioned the necessity after such a long wait, she responded in a rude manner, asserting that it was company policy. I got angry and told the cashier I wanted to talk to the manager. When I spoke to the manager he told me that the food manager was not there but that he could help me when I questioned it Why they have employees who do not have good customer service and the absence of announcements regarding the need for two lines, the manager simply responded with an "okay" and did not address my concerns. Never go to the Van Nuys Costco located at: 6100 Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91411. I recommend that you buy a Sam's Club membership, which has better prices and customer service. I will never go to this store I will not buy their membership. It's the worst thing I would do.
