I’ve had only good experiences with Clark’s. I’ve bought several items in several auctions, online and in person. I’ve also bought other items from around the country and shipping is almost always expensive, regardless of distance or purchase price. The most important factors are size and weight. So you might get a great deal for $200 but if it’s a large item and you’re not local, you might pay $200 shipping- not because you’re being ripped off, but because it’s a large or heavy item and that’s what it costs to pack and ship.

I have been an Executive in the Retail industry for 40 years and have a sincere appreciation for attention to detail and an extreme high level of exceptional customer relations. I generally do not take my time to provide Reviews often, however, when there is such a high level of excellence, I will do my best to take the time to recognize this excellence.Most individuals do not understand business operations and in the moment of frustration they give an unfavorable Review, when in reality, the business is following proper protocol and doing everything they can to take care of every client. Many of the unfavorable Reviews I feel are unjustified.My business has worked with Clarks Fine Art & Auctioneers since 2017, directly as a partner to strive to not just meet clients' expectations, but to exceed them! We work with them practically every week and multiple times most weeks. We know and understand them well. Both Clark and Ellen are exceptional!!! Not only to mention their deep passion and appreciation for art, they both have such a high attention to detail and organization, they will never allow anything that will compromise the safety and protection of their clients' art, and they are also deeply passionate to exceed every clients' expectations. This is impressive and powerful!!! Additionally, they require the same from all partners, vendors and businesses that work with them. I also have a deep appreciation for fine art and I am honored to be able to support them.

Clark and Ellen are experts with many different forms of art. Their descriptions are accurate. The auctions are fair with no shill bidding or hidden reserves. Oftentimes there are extremely good wholesale or below wholesale values.

I have won two auction items and both transactions were great. I'm local and was able to pickup both items. One needed a minor repair (was disclosed prior to bid) and they facilitated the repair for me. Overall I have had very good experiences here and would recommend. It seems like most of the negative reviews are related to shipping and I can't comment on that as I have not needed that service.

The worst auction experience I ever had. First the company listed its shipping terms in the contract as shipping from in house. When I won the auction, they said "we no longer do that" Instead you must pay, for a third party to crate the painting ( $300.00) then another $125 to send it. When I refused based on the value of the painting I won $225 they wrote a nasty dispute on live auctioneers. The woman on the phone had very poor manners. Call them and ask a question before you bid and you will see what the customer service is like. She seemed very irritated to be working there. Maybe she is nicer in person. LOL. Don't buy or sell here if you are looking for good customer service. I wanted the painting just won't do business when the terms change at will. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware.
