Hello car people, let me tell you about the history of this family's shop. I have known this Box and Gears shop since 1992. I worked at Ray's auto shop in Moorpark and we brought everything here to Jessy. He always was the go to for the shop. I recently took my 86 toyota truck in for a complete 4x4 transfer case rebuilt, and the rear differential and it's a beauty...Jr the son of owner is truly carrying the flag for the shop to keep doing its best. Great place to take your car bought my baby sister a starter car manual and transmission needed a part to shift better when I say no one could do it ! Not even my normal mechanic. He even put extra parts on great deal for what I paid will be returning soon !

This was the only place willing to work on my truck. All these other shops are scared of custom vehicles and just want to slap in a new transmission. Jr and his team took my transmission apart and restored everything that was wore out. 2 years later and it still is taking me out on the trails. They also regeared my father's wagoneer and he couldn't be happier.

What can say about Box & Gear, They are very professional, Jr. told me what will happen to rebuild my Supra trans. It was finished when he said it would be finished, The cost estimate was the same. Jr. took pictures throughout the whole process, which I really enjoyed. When It was done I got to talk to Jesse, I felt he was a master of transmission rebuilds. He said it was now as good as new, also the price was fair. I was told they are the best in the L.A. area. I agree. Thanks, BGT guys.

After weeks visiting several garages in my neighborhood, none of the mechanics could figure out what was causing the horrible noise each time the steering wheel was turned right or left. Reluctantly, I took the car to the Subaru dealership and was told that it was the transmission, and the clutch, and it was going to cost a fortune. None of the transmission shops in my area worked on a transmission for a 2003 Subaru stick shift. I finally found Box & Gear Transmissions, which was totally out of my area. Junior was patient and informative on the phone, and after a test drive, Junior knew immediately what was wrong. Indeed, both the transmission and the clutch needed to be replaced, and between getting all the parts in and the work needed, it was going to take about 10 days. My friend in Arizona, who works on car engines, spoke with Junior and was impressed. I did visit another transmission shop highly recommended by another friend, but the estimates were way out of line. While away on vacation, Junior did all the work needed and as agreed on, took my car to a nearby reputable garage, where a tuneup and oil change were done, work not done at the transmission shop. My car was ready when I returned from vacation and drives like new. I was so happy to find Box & Gear. A very stressful situation turned out to be a very good experience thanks to Junior and his Box & Gear family transmission shop. Thank you Junior. Ok. AAMCO is a burn. This place is trustworthy for all transmissions issues and 1/3 the cost of AAMCO and these guys know their stuff.

Junior will help you even he doesn't carry the part with him...he sales or no sale he is there's ...He is located in the heart of the valley.I'm 42 probably I got 24 year's coming OVER... Good prices and outperform...his work...
