Was eating my lunch in my car in the parking lot from the (yummy)burrito place next to Sams. I guess it bothered him and he had the cops come harass me, handcuff me up against the wall. So be careful parking, even if you're a paying customer!

I have lived walking distance and had a membership to one of the mega gyms in the area for 15 years and in that time I have probably visited the gym total of 50 times, and not in a row. I joined Coach Sam's a month a go and I have yet to miss a visit. I have never had the professional coaching and sincere support of a trainer like Coach in my life. It's apparent his motivation is not money but a desire to help people and help them succeed. I came to the gym after 3 years of cancer surgeries, chemo, and recently a stage 4 diagnosis. I had no strength what so ever, I could barely open a jar. Nearly 5 weeks later I feel so much stronger and even have a little 'pep in my step'. This is a fantastic place to go if you need to work your way back to shape after surgery or simply want to get back into fitness. Coach keeps his eye on you all the time and changes up your work out every two weeks. For the value you get the all the equipment and your own personal trainer with Coach. The other members are very warm and welcoming also. I'm so happy to have found this gym and ever so grateful for the care and dedication Coach Sam shows to everyone that works out there.

You can't do better than this wonderful gem of a workout haven!! Honestly, I think of it as my sanctuary. Coach Sam is truly a very caring, knowledgeable physical instructor and Coach Bill is terrific too. Plus, it's very open and you're not jammed in with tons of people. This is the overall place to go!

Coach Sam really does care about you and your well being. He has a gift and shares his knowledge with everyone that is willing to work out with him. The gym is cozy, small but has all the equipment you need. Coach writes up a workout card for you, it has about a dozen columns. Once you finish the card, he changes up the work out for you. There is a basic workout that includes at least 20 minutes of cardio and an all over body workout on the circuit. Nautilus and free weights, elliptical machines and treadmills. He will walk you through the first few workouts, then you are on your own. However, he is always there if you need help and he will call you if you do not show up. You sign up for a scheduled time twice a week (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday, with Friday or Saturday as your third optional workout). Coach would prefer you come three days a week but two is the minimum. Coach Sam's method is about consistency, balance and getting the blood flowing in your hour long, workout. If you want a intense 200 lb dead lift and 60 minutes of cardio, go to Gold's Gym. I also want to mention the amazing work Coach Sam does with Seniors and Teens. He does so much to make the community a better place. If you want to workout in a comfortable, supportive environment, this is your place.

I've done pilates three times a week for five months. I'm in much better shape and I have reached my weight goal. Now I want some definition and I've been looking for a comfortable place where an instructor is available and the fee is affordable. I've had Coach Sam's card for some time, and decided to check it out. What a nice surprise. Coach Sam's is atypical of private gyms in SoCal....it's a cozy little storefront which just barely accomodates the dozen or so fitness machines (including treadmill, stairmaster, rowing machine, weight machines, etc.). Sam is an imposing figure, sorta like like a retired marine seargent, but gentle and wonderfully supportive, keeping everyone on track with their routines, and offering one-on-one attention. The clientele is a little older, but very serious about their workouts. At 50 it was nice being the 'pup' in the room, after so many pilates classes with 20-something, slim-thighed, uber-aloof actress-type chicks sipping from aluminum water bottles. Sam writes our name on paper cups and leaves them on top of the water cooler. : ) I've signed up for a month at $85 (a heck of a lot cheaper than pilates) and will be going twice a week, with the third day optional. I've talked with the Coach about my goals, and he said he would work with me to achieve them. Note: he is really all about fitness and longevity. I'll be getting my nutrition tips elsewhere, and bringing ideas to the coach when I'm ready to add on to an exercise for faster/better results.
