The great wall of LA spans, many yards. I don't know how long distances really, but it goes on for a long time and has a lot of different paintings murals in pitchers in the school to check out.

I made my family bring me here to walk. I love murals and art. This wall had a lot of talking points. This looks like a project that is still ongoing. And I hope they do finish it. The wall is great. There's a walking path. It does need a lot of work. This was free to see, at least for now.Price for entry: $0

The Great Wall of Los Angeles is a museum-worthy collection of impactful murals depicting monumental moments and figures from Los Angeles, California and U.S. history. The artwork was made possible by numerous artists, people and organizations in 1974. The content of the murals ranges from World War 2, "Rosie The Riveter", Jewish Americans to labor strikes, Asian American achievements, and historic events related to racism, equality and social justice. The subject matter of the artwork featured here is so relevant today, I thought it was a recent work when I discovered it. The colorful artwork and content has stood up well against the test of time. There's a nice patch of grass to walk on a couple of benches to sit and enjoy the view. Dogs are welcome.Come here to be inspired, impressed and proud of the achievements and accomplishments of minority and immigrant Americans and overcoming historic events in American history.

The physical place is the same and the people too, but a lot of regular everyday items were missing. For example they were out of paper tissue, eggs, and irish butter. These were the things I came for. They probably didn't have other things, I just didn't check.

Best place to play Pokémon Go during community days because of all the poke stops, gyms and shade.

A colorfully interesting work of art that I first saw while driving by on Coldwater Canyon Blvd. I had to walk over for a closer look!I parked at the LA Valley College Baseball lot on Burbank Blvd, a half block from the south end. From there, the mural chronology can be seen northbound, alongside the TujungaGreenbelt of the Tujunga Wash, up to Oxnard Street. There’s a walking path along the length of the wall, from which viewing may take place. A fence provides protection from falling into the wash, though was in the way of picture taking.I’ve included a few sampler photos of just some of the art, and would recommend taking in the whole mural for complete continuity!Signage and banners by the Social and Public Art Resource Center could be updated. Meanwhile, there could also be more notice of this place, as it would be obscure, if not for the Google Maps listing!

Excellent half mile long mural depicting the diverse and not well known, almost hidden, history California and Los Angeles. Definitely worth exploring and broadening your knowledge.

Historic artistic landmark in the city of Valley Glen, Los Angeles of the San Fernando Valley... The great 818!!! Running alongside the Tujunga Wash off Coldwater Canyon and Oxnard St at the far corner of LA Valley College. This pierce of not only SFV history, but LA County was established in the late 70s by Judy Baca, former UCLA instructor and life long artist.Stretching out for over half a mile along a walkway with a few tables and benches making it a great place for a picnic, outdoor hang, stroll or pathway for the pets whether local or passing through. There is street parking encompassing the block and it's a brisk stroll from the Valley College Orange Line Station on Oxnard and Fulton.I've enjoy the site of this masterpiece during the day and at night, which in warmer weather is recommended though there are some shady areas nearby with trees scatter throughout the wash pathway and Great Wall of LA.

Easy walk, with plenty of street parking at the moment, it’s located next to valley college. I may do this again, super easy very little incline and not overcrowded. Nice mural.

Public art is common in the greater Los Angeles area but the Great Wall of Los Angeles, only a few minutes away from Valley Glen in North Hollywood, is an absolute must-see.This beautiful mural, which was completed in 1979 and is more than 2,700 feet long, is officially called The History of California due to its unique historical depiction of the region. It was designed by Judith Baca and was brought to life by more than 400 local youths and artists. The finished project is a colourful, captivating work of art that remains today as one of the longest murals in the world.

A beautiful wall of Los Angeles history on one side of the Coldwater Cyn river wash that has small parks with a hiking trail on both sides and sits alongside Valley College which has recently undergone a many million dollar remodel of the whole campus. No more small bungalow classrooms. Can accommodate many times more students with state of the art equipment and buildings. It's beautiful here!
