My 4 year old Maltese dog was given away to another family. When I went to pick up my dog I was handed an 11 year old Maltese non- neutered. The employees insisted that the wrong dog was certainly mine, which it was not. Not until my husband arrived at the location did they believe that the 11 year old was confirmed not to be my dog. I stayed at muddy Paws for at least 2 hours trying to get my dog back. The other family had my dog for hours and insisted that my dog was theirs. I was sick to my stomach. Finally after multiple phone calls the other family brought my dog back. After an email to the manager, she refused to refund my money only offering a credit for a future groom. I was not confident to return as a customer and was denied a refund. This was a horrible experience I felt like I wasn't ever going to get my dog back.

We pay full service for our dog, and they never honor their service. Not just this time but several times before. I asked them to shave my dog and lower her hair because it was getting too long. It was in their full-service policy that she could get a haircut, but they never gave my dog a haircut. They always cut corners and find excuses; it doesn't matter if you pay for a full service or request a full service. The management is handled very poorly. Note that we have been using their place for more than five years. I can't give them zero stars, so one star is the lowest I can give, and they lost our service. Please don't let your dog be groomed by them.

We have been taking our Corgis here for several years and always have a great experience! Reasonable rates and they do a nice job on bath and comb/brush-out. Staff is wonderful.

This is a good place to board your dog. They seem to care about doing a good job. Like a lot of places they close for lunch, so you can't drop off or pick your pet up during the noon hour.

Countryside is the best took my German sheperd to them before he passed they are great. My son takes his dog to them they got his hips in great shape now he can run again. I boarded my little guy there for a week wasn't sure how he'd do since we've never been apart more than 6 hrs a day for last 10 year's went to pick him up sure he missed me but think he had such a good time he didn't want to leave lol

WORST MANAGEMENT EVER!!! If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Hands down the most horrifically MANAGED grooming place EVER!!! We will never take our dog and our cats back ever again and also never to CountrySide Vet either. Believe me when I say… TAKE YOUR PETS ELSEWHERE. Horrible experiences all around!

Highly inefficient system and poor customer service. They use a drop off/pick up system, which does not allow you to select exactly which service you would like, you don't know when they will be done, and my dog is sometimes there for half the day... Without being able to specify the service, we have struggled with several miscommunications, which led to us having to bring him back in on multiple days. We also schedule his appointments a month in advance, and they called a week prior to the appointment stating they didn't have a groomer on our scheduled date, asked me to move it, and told me I need to schedule further in advance... On all of these occasions, the "manager" was present, and she NEVER apologized or offered to remedy the situation. If she had simply used basic customer service and apologized for the mistakes, we probably would have given them another chance.

Very disappointed when I dropped of my dog for a grooming today. Ever since Covid, it has been impossible to get an appointment unless it's 2-3 months in the future. I walked in to drop off my dog and there were two women at the front with masks down to their chins. When I left, they pointed out that masks are required when I return. I don't need to mention San Diego is 80% vaccinated and so am I. I feel pressured to always leave a tip as they ask If I want to and it's not confidential, they ask they ask how much. The prices should reflect a built in tip so as not to make the customers feel uncomfortable or at least let them sign the card machine on their own like most businesses. After eight years with Countryside and Muddy Paws I think I'll take my business elsewhere from now on.
