I might have been willing to join westamerica, as I live close by and im a businessowner, but they wouldn't exchange a hundred for 5's. Only for customers! Aren't they a bank, how long would that have taken...1 min? There wasn't anyone in there. Seems like you don't have any cystomers and aren't willing to try to earn any. Good job

Have made three trips to this office and the martinez office to get e statements and set up my online banking and i still am getting charged for e statments because I am still not set up for e statements. Their last excuse was my birthday was incorrect...just got my quarterly statement and going to withdraw and close my account since last quarter all I did was pay them $19 in fees. Just frustrated that I spent so much time in their branches to get this resolved and all they can to do is tell me what I did incorrectly each time or that the last person gave me wrong info. Got a call.back from westamerica after this post and their regional manager was a abe too credit back the $8 charges bit still unable to help me set set up e statments since I need to do it myself in a bank....although I can see she felt that it was pretty petty on my end for the $8. It was more about the fact that I am a customer and have attempted to get help with this situation...and that I never had to do this with other banks.

West America is a small bank. In the bank customer service is good for the most part. My problem is the fraud department. They fraud whatever they feel like, and they do so all the time. They can offer no explanation or set of rules or any list or anything like that to help prevent your purchases from flagging fraud. I have a bunch of bank accounts this one is rediclous, not worth my time using them for my money or purchases at all anymore. If they wanted my buisness to go to a different bank for everything... they accomplished that goal. My name is James Hanson.Edit: Today I received a letter from West America. They say the fraud department is for my protection. I understand this. My problem is with West America ambiguity. No written anything telling us the rules. There is no motivation on West America's part to make It easier for us (THE CUSTOMER). My other banks don't make me call and beg to spend my own money. Do not use this bank they are old fashioned and not with the times. No business should open accounts here. West America calls you to tell you they frauded a bunch of your transactions, then they want you to thank them. I have other bank accounts that does not make it this hard to make a purchase. A texting bot could do a better job of fraud protection. Oh, they currently do a better job of it. Just remember West America, the money in that account is mine, not yours. I don't want your stupid condescending letter, I want to purchase stuff online (like the whole damn world wants).

My husband had been banking with them for 30 years or more and so when we got married we continued to use them. Their management and tellers have always been friendly and helpful. And when we come across situations where we require a little more help they have always been willing to extend a hand within their limits. We are thankful to have them as our bank and will continue to use them for years to come!

They help who they want to help. If you don't seem like the type of client to bring them in revenue than you're kind of s*** out of luck with them as a bank. If you're going to bring them in some money they might allow you to get away with suspicious types of transactions, but they'll get some type of service fee they can put back into the bank so it's A-ok Their online banking setup is so out of date I've spent money i truly didn't have but was reflected in the available on my mobile app. Use them as a secondary bank not primary.

I banked here for 10 years and chose to close my account after being treated poorly by one of the Vallejo managers on multiple occasions. I guess 10 years with a bank doesn't get you anything, certainly not recognition, and instead I was questioned rudely and treated as if I were a criminal when trying to deposit money into my account. That's right... depositing, not even withdrawing! After 3 encounters with the same woman, all 3 resulting in the same mindless and rude exchange, I closed the account.

Over 10 years I banked here. I stayed with them through many disappointing times and conituous predatory banking practices- but today they absolutely have lost a customer in me. Why it is that I would need anything other than myself and my identification to deposit a check into my account is beyond me. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, in addition to all of the other minutia that I have to juggle, I would need to keep in my mind the exact date and amounts of my last deposits of checks from one of my employers (Mind you this is a local check, not a questionable check from out of state). I must be some kind of fool to assume that the bank, which I PAY TO KEEP TRACK OF MY TRANSACTIONS, could access this information. I work very hard for my money and my workdays start at 4am, so I don't have energy to play memory games with the inconsiderant bank manager, who had now done this to me THREE TIMES over the course of 3 months and yet cannot recognize me or my account and who had the audacity to tell me that if I had more money in my account it wouldn't be an issue. It is time to find a bank that can respect me and maybe just maybe- TAKE MY MONEY WHEN I AM TRYING TO HAND IT OVER.

Would give it 0 stars if i could. This corporation is inconsiderate and has the rudest customer service reps. Will be taking my business else where after having this bank for years. Wont ever recommend this bank to anyone i know.
