I love shopping at Marshalls. There is always something interesting to look at at each store. Even though checkout can take a while at this location, the staff is generally kind. However, the management leaves much to be desired.
This Marshalls location has opted out of the corporate return policy for online returns. They will not accept returns worth more than $39.99. The manager claims this is a new policy started in late 2024. The manager also told me my purchase was not eligible for a return because I didn't have the packing slip. This is also not the corporate policy. I suppose the manager is not well-trained because she told me I could try returning the item to the TJMaxx. It's well understood by customers that Marshalls purchases cannot be returned at TJMaxx or vice versa. The manager explained that this was a Vallejo only policy and that I could go out of town to another Marshalls and return my item there.
I have to give a one-star rating because management does not value their customers in the way the TJMaxx/Marshalls had envisioned. I shouldn't have to leave town to be valued as a customer. The fact that only customers in diverse Vallejo cannot return items over $40 (and customers in nearby Napa can) is discriminatory to our community, and we are better served shopping elsewhere.

Not as big or as many options as some other Marshall's especially when considering the size of the store, but overall a nice place.

It is a store where you can find a wide variety of items for the home, bathroom, kitchen, living room and many decorations, as well as very affordable prices, and the quality of all the items is very good.

Today was my second visit to this store in the last four days. I visited a few days ago to pick up stockings however, I did not find any but what I did find is that they have a lot of beauty products marked down on clearance, so I peruse those isles and grab a bunch of stuff great prices great variety just a nice selection from hair products make up bath and body. Today I went in looking for Easter baskets because my sister told me that she saw some really cute ones in here and we building these baskets for the kids. I located the baskets - they're on the endcap by the registers. However, I did wander around the store for a good hour, looking through the Kids section, toy section, seasonal section and back again, because I didn't understand where these baskets would be. I also ask a cashier in all my wondering and she didn't know either and she sent me back to the toy section. At the end of the visit, I had a very cute spring purse, two toys on clearance, and the actual baskets were super cute and very nice size for $10 each .

On Feb 1st and 2nd I visited this store and the service was horrible until I reached the cashier. No one offered assistance or greeted me or my wife until we were going to check out. Security follows people around without greeting and workers act like they are too busy to help or assist and wait for you to ask a question. They do not even attempt to greet but will stare at you with a blank face. They should go a couple of doors down and take a look at how Ross has implemented theft deterrence by staff being engaging.

Title: Disappointing Customer Service Experience with ManagerRating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)I recently had an extremely disappointing encounter with a manager at Marshall’s, which left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. The level of customer service I received was shockingly poor, and it is disheartening to see such behavior from someone in a managerial position.From the moment I approached the manager, it was evident that she lacked basic interpersonal skills and failed to understand the importance of customer satisfaction. Her dismissive attitude and lack of empathy were apparent throughout our interaction. Instead of addressing my concerns and attempting to find a solution, the manager seemed more interested in brushing me off and moving on to the next task.One of the most frustrating aspects of this encounter was the manager's refusal to listen. I tried to explain my issue calmly and clearly, but she interrupted me repeatedly, showing a complete disregard for my perspective. It felt as though she was more interested in asserting her authority than in resolving the problem at hand.Furthermore, the manager's tone and body language were incredibly condescending. She spoke to me in a patronizing manner, making me feel belittled and insignificant. It was evident that she had no interest in providing a positive customer experience or maintaining the reputation of the company.To make matters worse, the manager displayed a lack of knowledge about the company's policies and procedures. Instead of offering a solution or seeking assistance from a higher authority, she simply shrugged off my concerns and claimed that there was nothing she could do. This level of incompetence is unacceptable, especially from someone in a managerial role.In addition to the poor customer service, the manager’s lack of professionalism was evident. She failed to apologize for the inconvenience caused or take any responsibility for her actions. It was clear that she lacked the necessary training and skills to handle customer complaints effectively.Overall, my experience with this manager was extremely disappointing. Her dismissive attitude, lack of empathy, and condescending behavior left me feeling undervalued as a customer. I hope that Marshall takes this feedback seriously and addresses the need for better training and customer service standards among their management team.
