Mina and Imelda Diaz have started a neighborhood business offering a variety of local services and acting as local outlets for the likes of Re/Max and FedEx. They are aimed at serving the Latino community in Vallejo, but they sure treat me (a plain ol' Caucasian) fine. Their broad selection of services includes shipping, printing, and other office services, notary, insurance (I think), and more. Mina and Imelda are cleary hewing closely to the old-fashioned, American small business model of providing good services to their local community, getting to know their customers and treating them honestly, and just plain working hard to make things go. But the feel-good aspect of supporting a young local business is only half of it. Running a small business out of my home, I have only occasional shipping needs. On the occasions when I've gone there to ship something via FedEx, I have not had to wait in a long line and my needs were met expeditiously. If you're in Vallejo, you really should know about D&L Centro Latino.
