Who buys food at Costco? How does anyone deal with all that bulk without having your kitchen explode?I buy most of my food from Costco with 1-2 trips to other supermarkets per month. I make 1-2 trips to Costco per week. I've been doing it for years and I've evolved *rules* for shopping there. Let's talk about the fresh/perishable food first. I buy one item per category (unless it's a special occasion like a party), e.g. one meat, one veggie, one dairy, etc... I notice as a rule of thumb that for many items Costco comes to roughly 60% of the supermarket cost. Don't try to overthink this. You'll spend too much time micromanaging. Pick your line in the sand and stick to it. So, if I use 60% I've broken even and don't cry about it. If I can't use it up, that item isn't a good item to buy from Costco. You also have to be willing to repackage items into more manageable sizes. What about new foods? Suppose I don't like it? That is always a problem. Take a picture of the item and buy it in your regular market. Note the price. After a while I decided this was cumbersome and time consuming and just decided to buy it at Costco. Yes, I've had to compost stuff but I've been pleasantly surprised more often. Remember to taste everything Costco offers. Here's a little meander thru Costco on one of my food shopping trips. My first stop is the towel section. Apologies for the diversion but this is how Costco turns you into an addict. I bleach my towels so they have be white and durable. I hate shopping around in the big department stores and discovering their new featured towel is flimsy. Costco keeps some items as a staple and you just buy it over and over. They've got a big stack at the end of the aisle and their stock of this item is large even for Costco. There is a coupon coming. (3 photos). Yeah, I've been buying this towel for 10 years or more. I actually skip the meat/veggies since I have a bit of meat and veggies. Stick to the discipline!A bag of frozen Kirkland strawberries keeps longer than fresh (see photo) and goes great with yogurt.I do stop by the sausages (3 photos) but do not succumb even with a coupon. Besides I'll probably be back in 4-5 days. Gotta cook everything first. Ling Ling potstickers (2 photos) - not the tastiest brand but it's Chinese New Year! Party exemption! The Kirkland yogurt - Breakfast! yum (1 photo)- Almond flour crackers - Delish but still have some others at home - had there been a coupon I would have purchased the package limit (1 photos)granola/cereal - more breakfast - makes good snacks too (1 photo)Kirkland steak strips - so economical I skip making it myself1 photo - the receipt!Of course you noticed there are hardly any perishables. You'd have to look at my shopping over a month to get the real picture. I go to Costco so often I can afford to rotate my stock a few items at a time. In short, you manage Costco exactly the same way you manage any other grocery store. You limit your purchases and buy only what you need. The only thing that changes is the timing. Costco just don't have it;No fresh herbsSuper perishable veggies (like those herbs) - most of their stock stays for at least a week, often two. Ethnic stuff - chicken's feet anyone?Less you think I have a ginormous kitchen I have exactly four cabinets.

Out of 3 Costcos in Solano County, the Vallejo location wins in terms of item selection and eye exam price. I was able to get my eyes checked for $50 (Spring '22) on a Saturday afternoon. Shop til you drop then get your eyes examined! lolThis location offers items I don't normally see at the Fairfield and Vacaville stores. They offer more asian items like chinese sausage, dried squid, lumpia and canned milk tea boba. I found the Matcha Lindt here (when they were offering it) and egg roll cookies. There was even a section for Lunar New Year plants and treats. You can easily spend over $50 on snacks alone, which is what I did. It's a decent size store, not as big and spacious compared to other Costco's. I've been here a few times and each visit, it has been crowded. Items are pretty much well stocked and the store is organized. Samples are passed out here and there. I haven't ordered at the food court but it is small and limited seating. Self-check out is available for the introverted people to the far right side of the check out area. And farther down are the restrooms. In front of the check out registers is the optometrist and the eye center. I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly and on a Saturday at 4pm. The optometrist was gentle and nice and it was a quick visit. I didn't need my eyes dilated but if I needed to, it would've been an extra $20. From what I can recall, the Fairfield and Vacaville eye exams were between $69-80 so $49 was a pretty good deal and that was without insurance. I was able to get my rx and order glasses somewhere else. The Costco is located close to Best Buy, Red Lobster and Habit burger and there's plenty of parking to choose from. I haven't had a chance to get gas here since it always looks crazy busy. Overall, I appreciate this Costco. Check them out, you might find some unique items!

We love coming to this Costco weekly. Might as well call it Whole Paycheck. It's literally $300-$400 everytime we stop by here. It's a bit insance how much one can easily spend here.

This Costco has all the regular goods to stock your pantry, refrigerator, and freezer, but the gas prices here are constantly a few cents lower compared to other Costcos in nearby cities. Hey, all the pennies count when you commute!

This is the best place to get gas when you need it in town. Make sure you know that you need gas and you have time to get it because the line is very long.

In stead of using a radio and calling costco security, why not just ask if i needed help finding something? My partner and i were waiting for the next shipment of ac units to come in. We had asked another costco employee about them and he said to just wait around for 20 minutes till they were brought up from the dock. So we waited and walked around the store for 15 or so minutes. Then i overheard this dude call on his radio to security (and described me). Most costco employees are quite respectful and friendly. This dude needs a basic customer service course. Also why wear a face mask when you are not gonna wear it correctly? Just dont wear it! So, I guess thats what it feels like to be racially profiled. However, a white tall overweight bald guy playing pokemon (in his 50's) generally doesnt fit any descriptions of danger or concern.

Customer service is not the problem, it's the people they do buisness with. We bought a refrigerator online costco. And I guess G.E is the company they do buisness with. It wasn't delivered on the delivery date, and no call no text, no notifications. It was rescheduled and we waited the the whole day, and still no call no text no notifications. Its real sad and pathetic what this company puts people through. I don't recommend customers buying appliances here, cause ain't coming the date you are supposed to receive it. And they won't call you you or notify you either. Stay classy Costco.

I was just at Costco yesterday. Their barbecue ribs are so good. I should have asked them if they deliver because they sell some yummy salads, entrees, pastries and deserts. The Bolognese Ravioli's are killer. Good prices and large portions. Everything for Spring is there now. Lots of outdoor furniture, plants, sports equipment, summer clothes. I love Costco.

Stupid lady on the phone refuses to tell me if my membership is still active without coming in to the store. Excuse me but why should I waste gas to drive and find out my membership isn't valid anymore??? Why is that classified information all of a sudden?? I just need to know so I can go elsewhere like Sam's Club.

I just had the worst experience with Costco. I ordered a Pizza Oven back on April 4th with delivery schedule for April 19th. Right up until the day the product was supposed to be delivered, I was told that it was on schedule for delivery on the 19th. A few hours before the window for delivery, I called them and was told it would not be delivered as it was put on the wrong truck and was sent to Atlanta, and they had no idea as to when it would be delivered. After trips to Columbus and Denver, it finally made its way to the Bay Area and was delivered today. However given its journey across America, no surprise that it was delivered damaged and thus rejected. When I called Costco, they indicated that it is now out-of-stock, no longer available, and thus there is nothing they can do for me except return my money. 6-weeks of frustration and aggravation only to be back to where I was a month and a half ago. Absolutely unbelievable. For a company that is usually committed to their customers, I was dismayed at the customer service approach I received on this particular purchase.

I was in the Costco Vallejo parking lot already and was about to go home. I decided to fill up my gas. But because there were traffic cones placed on the entrance to the gas station. I need to take U-Turn on the other side of the shopping center @ Plaza Drive. I almost got hit by a coming car while crossing the street. The design of the entrance is not traffic wise and safety wise if you may say. I suggest they move the entrance to the current exit side (by the Social Security area). Looking into this matter promptly is greatly appreciated.
