RUN OR DRIVE AWAY from this place as fast as you can. I have never written a review of anything, but if I can save 1 person from the shoddy workmanship of these guys it is worth my time. I went through most of my 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty trying to make my truck drivable. I rarely drove the truck as I lost all confidence in it after taking it to Jim Dandy. I did finally start driving it, but it leaked transmission fluid. I took it back and it still only had about 7,000 miles on it, but it was close to 3 years. They refused to honor warranty even though the 12 month part of the warranty was spent making it driveable. I also "coincidentally" had my transfer case go out at around 1600 miles after they had drained it while doing the transmission work, due to lack of oil but they never would admit it even though we all knew what happened.I took it to another shop and the leak was due to them "modifying" the pan and using wrong gasket and needing 11 helicoils to be able to properly tighten the pan. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Jim Dandy!

I took my son's 2005 GMC for electrical issue the TCM Was not communicating with the transmission. This much I knew. Already because of the code that I pulled myself. So I took it there for diagnosis. And I wanted them to fix it I told them That I'm pretty good with vehicles . I'm just not a circuit man. After it was there for 2 weeks. They told me I was too quartz, low on transmission fluid. And that my transmission fluid was burnt and my transmission was slipping. And I needed a new transmission. Mind you, I had just changed the transmission fluid myself 1 week before I took it in there. And it was not slipping prilor to that . they told me $7,000 for a new transmission. They said we needed. So my son and I had the truck towed from there. AND Took it somewhere else. AND In 1 day, we had it fixed and back home . and it only turned out to be a loose fuse. Under the steering wheel and they fixed it for $200 dollars problem fixed. Please don't trust them

I had my truck brought in for 3 codes relating to the transmission well after many days of being there eventually I had it pulled because the truck is being shipped off they had it for a total of 7 days and they could only tell me things I already new that was wrong I get the truck home and it was dark of course well the next morning I coke out to oil rubbed all along my fender and about 10-20 new scratches all along the doors bed and roof even!! The truck wasn’t perfect but this leaves no excuse for my truck to be treated this way just as a psa as well my truck is now home with 11 codes instead of the 3 I brought it in with choose wisely on you’re shops before going to these places

They take excellent care of my car whenever I bring it to them. They are cordial, honest, thorough and kind. As an older gal who knows nothing about mechanics, this kind of service is priceless! I refer everyone to them, they are tops and were recommended to me by my own mechanic, Ken Archer of Community Auto Repair Service when I had a failed transmission

Had issues with my car, went to Jim Dandy because my family member trusted them. They claimed a new transmission was needed, so of course I believed them, what do I know? Paid a lot of money for a new transmission, picked the car up, on my way home the same exact issue that was going on originally, happened again. The transmission obviously wasn't the problem. I feel they took advantage of me, a woman, knowing I wouldn't know better than to trust them. My family member had to push them to fix it, since they took a lot of money when it wasn't necessary. They complained and didn't want to do anything to rectify this... The owner? I think, Tim, he was pissed at us, and ended up refusing to talk to my family member about any of it. Someone else in the office ended up working with us to fix the issue, reluctantly. At the end, all that was needed was an alternator. I would have much rather paid for that, than the months of fighting with this vendor and paying for a whole unnecessary transmission. I would think twice before using this vendor and be absolutely sure of what you actually need, before you go to them. They will diagnose it as needing a transmission when its not necessary.

Came in to change transmission coolant lines that were leaking. Tech said i was very low on trans fluid and charge me to fill up. Had fluid leaking all around repair area. When I took to different mechanic. They said install was loose and that I have over 4 quarts over max of fluid. Also when I showed it to the new mechanic they also noticed they never put the bolts back for the front grill that were removed during the previous coolant line change. I’m pretty disappointed that this happened. I’m also even more disappointed since this guy advertises himself as a transmission expert and I come to find that not only was it done wrong but was over charged for fluid that was unnecessary and may have caused the failure that happened after the service.
If you do come here I hope your also able to verify and check everything yourself after they are done.

I recently brought my 2014 Town & Country to Jim Dandy Transmission, and I couldn't be happier with their service. Initially, I had the transmission replaced, but unfortunately, it failed. However, they honored the manufacturer warranty and replaced it with a new one at no cost to me. Later, I encountered a no-start issue and took my vehicle to a Chrysler dealer, only to be hit with an exorbitant diagnostic fee. Frustrated, I returned to Jim Dandy, and they not only diagnosed the problem for free, but they also fixed a ground cable and replaced the alternator, all free of charge. These folks have been in the business for ever, and it's evident why. Their commitment to customer service and their positive attitude shine through. If you treat them with respect, they'll go above and beyond to help. I'm immensely grateful for the exceptional service I received from the team at Jim Dandy Transmission. Five stars all the way! Thanks Tim and Roger. Thanks all of the mechanics and staff. Excellent Services

I went to to see them because my son car have a problem with the transmission, I left the car and after a couple hours they told me that the car was ready. I pay to change the gasket put the filter and put new oil, a couple week later i let someone see the car and told me that he believe the transmission was never open so there is no way they change the filter. The guy told me that was low in transmission fluid and i believe they fill up and still charge me for something that they never did.Service: Transmission

My transmission was slipping and they serviced it. Got me out to Tennessee and still running strong. With 300k on the odometer.
