They don’t actually do anything to help with dogs in your neighborhood that bark for 3 hours straight beginning at 7/8am. And then also on and off from 12am- 4am. They send a letter to your neighbor, your neighbor ignores it and that’s basically it. Then you are told you can take them to court over it which is fine with me, but you have to get 2 other neighbors involved. Good luck with that because everyone is so afraid of everything now that no one will agree to get involved. So I guess if you live in Fairfield your dogs can bark all day and night with no repercussions. I’ve never lived anywhere where essentially NOTHING is done about this. And don’t bother calling non emergency police. They don’t do anything to help either. This city is a joke.

Thank you Officer Ramirez for your kindness and empathy towards the poor stray cat with the severe leg injury. You made it easy to find the little guy some help.

They were so kind when a hawk crashed into my window. They came quickly and I felt so much better knowing they were going to help. I can't even express how appreciative I felt.

This agency has an incompetent officer working for them. Here is what their website states regarding barking dogs, "Any pet owner or custodian who allows a dog to bark continuously or for an extended period of time in a manner that annoys the neighbors and disturbs the peace and tranquility of the neighborhood may be guilty of allowing a public nuisance and punishable by a misdemeanor." A few of us on the street signed a petition regarding the neighbor's barking dog and filed it with Humane Animal Services the end of July 2021 with one month's worth of documentation of the dog barking along with about 100 videos of the dog barking. I was informed they would serve the notice to abate, the owners would have 8 days to correct the problem, and everyone who signed the petition would get a call after 10 days to see if the problem is still occurring. After one month, we did not receive a call and decided to call them to see what was going on. After a couple of more calls another month later, one of us got a hold of Sgt. Rodgers who said he would speak to Ofcr Zag as to why this case wasn't following protocol. She came out October 5 and of course the dog did not bark. I let her know they have cameras and had the son put the dog in because 10 minutes after she left, the dog barked for 6 hours. Coincidence? I think not! I called Fairfield code enforcement on 10/14/21 and spoke to Dan. He told me he would find out what was going on and call me back. I didn't hear back from him after 4 days. I decided to go to the Fairfield PD on 10/19/21 to speak with someone in code enforcement and it was Dan who came down. I showed him my logs of the dog barking as well as recent videos and let him know that Humane Services never followed protocol of dealing with a barking dog. He let me know Zag closed the case because I had a personal issue with the neighbors and the dog isn't a problem. The neighbors made up a story because this issue is not personal and Ofcr Zag didn't even bother to ask me about this statement. I was so upset that I went to the HAS office and it was Zag that was there. I let her know I spoke with Dan and didn't appreciate that she didn't bother to call anyone on the petition and that she didn't have the decency to call and let me know she closed the case and why. Zag stated that dogs bark and it's ok if they bark between the hours of 7am to 9pm. I told her the dog sometimes barks for 6 hours at a time and she said that isn't a problem as long as it's between 7am to 9pm. Sgt Rodgers pulled up and I told him what I just said to Zag. I later received an email from Dan that day stating he had one of his officers go by and they reported that the dog barked incessantly and he was going to recommend the case be looked at again but to remove Zag from it. The next day, Zag was behind my house to check if the dog was barking but the dog was in the house. Coincidence? I think not! The dog barely barked that week and I believe Zag warned them because on Saturday afternoon, guess who was barking again? The rain kept the dog in but today, my kids told me the dog was barking at 12am. 10/26/21 she's suddenly barking at 6:58am and throughout the morning. When I got home around 5:45pm, she barked until about 7:15pm. This agency needs to really look into Ofcr Zag. She is letting her personal judgement get in the way of following what this agency is meant to do for the public and the animals.

My hat goes off to Solano Animal Control employees. They have to save animals from their ignorant owners and deal with the worst of the worst, dead or dying fur babies. I call them when I see an animal in a truck/car when it's above 75*....... It's hotter than that in a vehicle, so get a clue folks! Maybe you should not be a pet parent!!!!! Thank you for your amazing service Solano Animal Control & God bless you all ??????????Sincerely, Lisa Denton

Called for a pigeon in my yard this morning. Officer that showed up was really down to earth and sweet. Pigeon probably won’t make it but at least it won’t be suffering much longer. Thanks HAS

Staff are hostile, uncooperative, unhelpful. They refuse to pick up loose dogs in my neighborhood, they don't respond to calls nor photos, and openly sabotage my efforts to get leash law compliance. I've never seen anything so crippling. they actually blocked my email so that I couldn't send pics or reports. They should lose the contract for any animal service

I was walking one evening at a school park and found an injured fledgling crow on the grass. The little guy could barely move and couldn't fly, and looked to be very hurt. I called HAS, but they were closed so I called the non-emergency police line, and they were able to connect me to Mr. Ramirez. Despite being off hours, he still showed up and was very kind and was able to take the little fledgling back to the center the next day. I received a very nice update today that the little guy is going to make it. Turned out he was extremely dehydrated and quite down. Thank you Mr. Ramirez and HAS for your great work and empathy.

Sodom and Gamorrah. Nothing that I say is going to change anything, but HAS are involved in animal exploitation and animal cruelty. Sergeant Ramirez stood back and made himself unavailable when tweakers and pedophiles in Dixon were torturing my dog, Bandit. The first time I spoke to Seargeant Ramirez on April 15 he admitted someone had my dog, but did not intervene and found it amusing that people and my self spent hours and days driving around looking for Bandit; Sgt. Ramire

For something thats supposed to be humane, im pretty sure they did more harm than good with a litter of kittens who happened to make my porch their home. We suspect momma may have been a displaced pet, and upon pickup they mishandled them and slammed a kitten in the door of their truck. These kittens and momma were very friendly and just a sleepy lazy litter than needed better placement. Person who picked them up ( unfortunately didn't get name) should be fired. They seem to be anti-animal. Upon reading other reviews (which I should have done prior to calling), I felt the need to write a review as a warning to others. They told us that since it was Sunday, they would likely put the animals down. My mother is inconsolable. We couldn't keep them but wanted them safe and this was the result. They are disgustingly inhumane.

Pick up dogs when you get called, allow photographic evidence, react to my requests with professionalism, don’t hang up on me, don’t block my phone number, don’t ignore my concerns

Very professional and friendly. You can really tell they love the animals and their jobs. This facility is clean and inviting. I highly recommend Napa Humane Animal Services.
