I always like to give credit where credit is due and relay positive experiences to management via yelp. While shopping today, William bagged my groceries and was very helpful, engaging, outgoing and friendly all in the process of doing his job. Great customer service experience.

Description of Complaint: We were to receive cases 6 packs of Dr ZEVIA. We prepaid as in the past. Our order was never given to us even after numerous calls and personal trips to the store in Vacaville. We have ordered like this before; this time we have been told twice to "be patient" when someone actually answered the phone and was a manager. This is not okay to take $556.63 and not give us the items we prepaid that were on sale. Well I tried to do what you suggested. Just call me at 661-340-3045. I don't want to waste anymore of my time. It is so difficult to actually get any way to contact you. Here it is days later. Dawn nor anyone has contacted me. Seeeee just talk no action

This five star review is because of the exceptional service my husband and I received from Ryan. He was helpful with the purchase of patio furniture and went above and beyond. He made this chain feel like a neighborhood store.

If you need meats from the deli, go to the nugget. You pay a little bit more but the experience is well worth it. Plus time is money and you have to wait 5-20 mins for help at Safeway. They only have one person sometimes two to operate the deli, they don't care about their customers like the nugget does

This pertains to my experience with the website/app for in-store pickup. I ordered product from the website on Tuesday afternoon but was unable to pick up prior to the 8pm cutoff. So I selected to pick the order up the following business day - Wednesday. After submitting the order, I realized I didn't get the sale price. So I went inside the store on pickup day. The First Lady I spoke to was rude and said I needed to talk to on-line orders. I was then told by the guy there that because I selected the next day for pickup, it won't honor the sale price. So I told him to cancel my order. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do, he said no, so I left. BIGGEST mistake on my part. After leaving, I get a confirmation email that my product was picked up. Needless to say, I was upset because I didn't walk out with my product. I called the customer service who proceeded to tell me that in the future if there's any online order issues to call them and not deal with the store. He assured me he would cancel the order and issue a refund. Welp, it's been 5 days, no refund, no product and my account was debited. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. My one and only experience with Safeway online ordering and it was horrible.

Not sure I will come back to shop here after my experience today. Been shopping here well over a year but Jennifer S. Head of customer service of Safeway this Sunday morning has made me rethink where I want to shop now. There was an older gentleman checking me out. I had a full basket. My groceries were not being bagged simultaneously. So things were getting crushed by bottles of water. So I asked him do you have any baggers today and he began to tell me that 4-5 people called in sick. So at that time I asked if he could call for some help. There were only 2 lines open and a lot of people backing up behind me and the other line. He yelled over to a lady walking by who he told me was customer service and asked to help. She said she would call for someone. She also told him to take $10 off my groceries. Ok sounds great right? Umm not so much. So she calls 3 more times to get a bagger and by then he had more than half the groceries bagged and starts to put the code in to take off the $10. He can't figure it out. Here is where Jennifer S. becomes very rude. She becomes irritated that she actually has to walk over to the register and help this poor man put the code in. How does she help? She yells at him in front of us including my child "are you watching!!! So you know the next time!!!" I'm thinking to myself wow and she's head of customer service. PLEASE DO BETTER SAFEWAY. Maybe you should train your cashiers and definitely your managers in those roles how to deal with customers much better. Her blaming people for calling in sick was not my issue. But offering help him bag groceries or help the cashiers would of been a better solution. She was not busy.

So here i am AGAIN writing a poor review for Safeway....i will say this, a few of the employees are good, but majority are rude...i always have the worst time at the Deli....today was no exception. No acknowledgment of my presence by anyone until i said something. Then it took the person cutting the meat about 15 min to get my order done. I was the only one waiting!!!! Seriously? I think the leadership at this location needs to really look at training and hiring better people. Customer service is not something they value.

Always a great selection of fresh produce and helpful workers. I have been coming here for months now, and am never disappointed. I went in today to get some last minute things for Labor Day, and was astonished by the level of commitment Sydney gave. I broke my leg a couple of months ago, so getting around has been a little hard, but sure enough she helped me to my car and loaded up all of of my things for me. I recommend coming here not just for the great selection, but the above and beyond customer service.

A week ago I shopped at my local Safeway. After my purchase I noticed that my transaction was still on the screen and I hadn't been given a receipt. I asked my checker and he said he put it in my bag. It wasn't. He then told me I needed to put my debit card in again because the charge hadn't gone through. I told him that I hoped I wouldn't be charged twice. He said that couldn't happen. The next day when doing on line banking, I found I had been charged twice for the same purchase. I called Safeway customer service and was told they'd investigate and let me know the conclusion within no longer than a week. I was told maybe my bank made the error. Actually the issue is, they have my money twice for the same purchase and haven't credited it back. It's been a week and they still have my money. I hate to think if I hadn't noticed my transaction was still on the screen. The checker may have continued on with the next customer, while still having my personal information as being the customer. My whole reason for this review is to make people aware that you can be double charged and Safeway, specifically, is horrible about making it right. I had this happen at another store years ago. When I called their customer service, it was fixed the same day. Not so with Safeway! I want to make it clear that my poor review has nothing to do with my local store or it's employees. Mistakes are made. Computer glitches happen. My review is about the lack of customer support at the top, where you need to call when you have the type of problem. Regarding the response: I've already chatted. I don't want to chat again. I want my money back. As of today, 8/11/21, I still don't have the double charged money you took from my account on 8/2/21.

Elaina M works in the meat section. She was so incredibly nice! When I go I usually get chicken tenders and she made sure to give me good sized ones. I explained that the last couple of times I was there I went on my lunch break and they were rock hard, but when I would realize it when I'd sit down to eat it my break would be almost over so I couldn't go back to return them otherwise I'd be late. She gave me mine on the house and was so apologetic even though it wasn't her fault! Such great customer service & I will definitely be back! Shout out Elaina!!

TLDR: LUZ the cashier IS AMAZING! Luz the cashier is a DELIGHTFUL person! I forgot my card with my partner (at a different part of the store). She was so sweet and patient while I called them to come to the register (she already rung me up). We waited for a supervisor to suspend my transaction so my partner could hand me our card. Her colleague (I'm sorry, I didn't get his name) is a friendly young gentleman who tried to ease my somewhat anxious energy by empathizing with me. Forgetting one's card is a normal thing (but v. unusual for me). He was really funny and helpful, while he nicely packed my groceries. Luz, the nice gentleman, and I bantered a bit about technology like pagers and how calling back in the day involved kiosks and someone else doing the dialing etc. (since I was using my phone to call my partner and was buying Vienetta ice cream cake, a product that made a comeback from the 90's). I really appreciate you LUZ and the nice gentleman colleague who helped (I'll update this review if I can find out his name)! Thank you so much for your awesome customer service. These "small" gestures really touched my heart, esp. during these hard times (C-19). (Visit 7/12/21 11:40p ish), aisle 4)

I will NEVER shop at Safeway again. The customer service I received via phone was outrageous. I almost always have a problem with the pick up orders; whether it be products out of stock or bad produce, etc. Due to an error with their IT (per their customer service), I today received in incorrect amount of a product. There was an easy resolution to this; I was willing to drive back across town to the store later today for another pick up order to get what I ordered. The service rep told me she couldn't do that, I'd have to place another order. How could she not do that to make good on what I ordered? I needed my order today and I didn't need another $30 in groceries so that doesn't solve my problem. I placed the order in the first place for the item in questions and the remaining order was just to meet minimum. I then spoke to a "manager" who also refused to help me. She stated she would contact IT to resolve the problem. That resolved their IT problem but it does not resolve my problem today. I requested the manager email me an email contact to the head of customer service so I could write a complaint including her name and the first customer service reps name. She say that she would do so and I never received said email. I will never shop at a Safeway again! I will continue to shop at the amazing Nugget and if I have to do a pick up I will use Sprouts instead.

So many missing items from their shelves. The store pales when compared to the other stores in the area; truly poorly managed. If you can avoid the store and go to the other stores in the area.

Would like to give this zero stars if I could. Ordered a diner cake from their bakery for my daughter's birthday this past weekend. Hello Kitty was the theme and we requested two layers of filling with white cake, one strawberry and one cream cheese. The cake was decorated nicely, although the actual Hello Kitty was just a faded screen print on the top. This was literally the worst cake we have ever had. The cake itself was super dry and crumbly. And the "filling" was barely even visible, that's how little was there. I had much higher expectations for them. And this was a really big disappointment. Will never order a cake from them again.
