They have a great reputation. My vet referred me there. It's hard to get an appointment and a long wait. They are expensive. I didn't go because my dog got better.

excellent resource for eye issues. recommended by our local vet. expert care for our dog and the staff is very responsive when we need refills of eye drop prescriptions. they are located a couple of blocks off I80 using the Davis street exit and parking is plentiful.

Dr Canton is the kindest doctor. Our dog went blind from diabetes and he was able to restore his vision.

A+ service experience doesn't cover it. Dr. Canton and his staff made this process as comfortable and timely as it could be. Really cannot imagine dealing with anyone else. My Boston Cash gets excited; yep excited to come visit. Just come see these folks, don't delay your pets care. Top tier. Thank you all very much!

Well it's a peculiar practice, it seems very nice at first but then when they make you go over the road to the Sonic, because they wouldn't let my wife use the bathroom. It's was a bit upsetting, to say the least, especially when the response to that statement was that "you need to grow up".

What a total waste of time. I waited in the parking lot for an hour and a half before they even saw my dog, then seemed totally confused as to why I brought her in (to get her EYES checked out??)...but the worst thing about this experience was how totally RUDE the staff is. I left before my dog actually got to be examined. No time/money for inept businesses. Never again.

It's taken me several years to write this after losing my dog in 2019. The last year of my dog's life we were referred here for an eye issue. The Dr. is competent and genuinely seems to care about his furry patients, but the compassion ends there; it does not extend to his patient's owners. As others have said, they demand regular follow up visits on a high frequency schedule, even when the Rx is long term and the patient is doing well on the regime. The cost is EXORBITANT. About $200 each visit plus the ointments and Rx. Over and over, I explained the financial hardship this (and my dog's other health issues) we're putting on my family. They could literally care less; instead of offering to work something out or even demonstrating empathy or understanding, their tact is to SHAME pet owners. The blonde front desk lady was the most horrible toxic person I have ever encountered in a medical setting. She seemed to delight in the knowledge that I couldn't afford the endless cycle of appointments to refill the prescription. Whenever I tried to explain this she became ice cold and savagely callous. When my dog passed and I cancelled her follow up appointment explaining that, they were the only care provider that didn't extend condolences. Says a lot. Also, in desperation, I found a vet in Kansas!!! who was able to fill at least one of her prescriptions for - wait for it - 1/3 of Dr. Canton's cost. I also found the ointment in 3 packs much cheaper on Amazon. I pity anyone who needs specialist eye care for their pet in the Bay Area. There are few providers and they know it. You'll be paying for their 4 day work week, and 6 hour work days and million dollar homes. Oh, I Googled the typical salary for a receptionist/front desk clerk in Solano County - what a joke - that sassy woman could NEVER afford the treatment either, if her own pet was ever in need. May karma find her.

Well, well, well, looks like I'm not the only one feeling the stress exuded by the staff at this frickin place. This clinic made an appt. for us at a specific time, then did not see us until 45 minutes after that! This after we traveled 1 hour to get there, and the office staff knew that. They make you wait inside your car to check in, while your pet is being seen and while you pay the grossly overpriced $258 for a general office visit. The frickin vet dr. didn't even know why we were there with our pet. He thought it was a follow up. It wasn't!!! Never ever again.

Beyond grateful for Dr. Canton and the staff here. They took my fur baby in, determined she had a very very deep ulcer in her eye, other surface ulcers, and a bad case of active herpes. If this team hadn’t taken us in as quickly as they did and treated as aggressively as they did, the ulcer may have ruptured. Truly believe she could have lost her eye. It’s been a couple months of aggressive and thorough treatment, along with lots of check ups, and my girl is back to her sassy self. Thank you so much Dr Canton & team!!

First and foremost I will give credit where credit is due and say my dog’s eyes look great. Whenever I started there it was always professional and friendly and my dog and I had been treated with kindness and respect. However, since Covid19 and even the previous fall service there has been on the decline.I started having appointments canceled and when I need a refill I get static because my dog has not been there is 3 months when they were the ones who canceled my appointment. His last appointment we pulled up waited an hour, called to make sure they did not forget us and at that time they let us know there was an emergency. I understand that. I use to work in the field. I also understand at the time the emergency enters someone needs to convey to the waiting clients of the circumstances and not wait an hour until they call you. We came back for our appointment at a later date. I also called and changed an appointment fall of 2020 which never got changed on their end and it was again me trying to call and get a refill when he hadn’t been in for 3 months on an appointment they failed to change. My dog is on two meds. One he’s been on for 7 years, the other about 2.5. It’s a global pandemic. There is a deadly virus and a stay at home order. I don’t like to go into the pharmacy every 10 days when his one script is out(each bottle lasts about 10 days), I like to get several bottles at one time. With respect that this Dr likes to see him every 3 months for a full exam cost, no recheck exam at a lower cost, roughly $200 every 3 months, that is about the max I am able to bring him in, every 3 months. So I call them when they only allowed me to get 2 bottles of his meds (20 days worth) and tell me I need to call back in 20 days to get more....why? I admit with everything that is going on in this world, the thought of having to deal with meds he’s been on for years every 20 days infuriated me. I explained that it was “***explicit*** ridiculous” and vented about my high risk health status, it was a horrible day and this was the icing on the cake. I’m not certain what would happen at the 20 day mark, was I honestly going to get asked to bring him in for a $200 fee every 20 days? Who has that time or money? The lady told me my use of explicit verbiage, not directed at her but the situation mind you, was inappropriate (agreed but it is what it is) and placed me on hold for an obnoxious amount of time, after which I just hung up the phone (probably only about 3-4 minutes but I was angry and it drug on). Now here’s where we differ. Having worked in the field, and the world as it is, I understand tensions are high and folks are flustered. Personally, as someone whose managed people and worked in client services for decades, I would call the upset client, like “hey, what’s going on? Let’s find a common ground” 10:1 odds it’s just that, a bad day and a lack of communication. Instead 3 months has gone by. My husband called there today to make our dog his appointment and the person who answered the phone felt the need to discuss the convo I had 3 months earlier with the lady who answered the phone. I never got a phone call from them to discuss it with me at any point. Just a gossip queen CSR (?) relaying her version of things to my husband 3 months later, which thank god my husband and I are still together, could you imagine if we weren’t? I called them to explain I’ll be canceling my appointment and it went to voicemail, twice while explaining how unprofessional that was on Voicemail I got the “message has been erased” mid sentence , so not sure if someone was listening or what happened. Long story short, their client services are poor and lacking, and not suited to deescalate a situation. I could never imagine not reaching out to an upset client or further more sitting on it for 3 months just waiting to discuss the issues with their spouse! If you have a problem with me, discuss it with me, I probably would have even apologized for using an explicit word when explaining my frustrations. Wildly unprofessional.
