June 2024 by Restoring The Woman of God In You
Went into the Rusty Gypsy today during the Upland Lemon festival, they had alot of very nice pieces. My mom and I walked through slowly to admire the items, once we had gotten to the back of the store the two ladies that were working there, not sure if they we're the owners are not but they both came to the back and watched us like we were going ro steal something. I will never visit this place again and we know so many well known designers that we could have referred along with us buying every item in the store. Note to owners, if you've ever seen the movie Pretty Woman where she went in a clothing store and the lady profiled her, well you could have had a very prosperous day. Stop racially profiling people. I will post this on all social media's

I've been meaning to write this for a while, better late than never. I Love this shop! So many beautifully curated and one of a kind refinished antiques. Purchased an massive fireplace mantle and regal light fixture for our home project. The owners are very friendly. If you love antiques or want a place to find some great statement pieces for your home do yourself a favor and peek in. But also review their hours of operations, Or schedule an appointment.

An awesome wonderland of one-of-kind furniture/antiques/oddities/and crafted gifts all in one shop in historic Downtown Upland. Many upcycled/restored treasures and custom-made home decor pieces for anyone looking for unique and functional pieces of art. There's an ever-changing inventory of unique items across many diverse styles. You could find anything from a rustic French country hutch, retro cool buttery soft leather club chairs, a witchy coffee table, whimsical dressers, dreamy bed frames, to a fabulously fancy vintage chandelier and so much more. Just a very cool spot that also carries a wide selection of chalk paints & some supplies to customize your own pieces and showcases the works of many different talented artisans. Friendly owner, reasonable prices, and a joy to visit.

Where do we begin? The Rusty Gypsy , specializing in furniture restoration and Home Decor. RG has a bit of everything, Courtney and her hubby find amazing items to restore and place in their store for people to enjoy for years to come. The detail show as you browse their store. A huge open space in Downtown Upland., with a French Quarter vibe, decorating ideas, vintage pieces and even a custom line of paints that can be purchased for you, if you choose to take on your own DIY projects. Courtney takes pride in visual merchandising as you browse and get so many decorating ideas, as well as great gifts ideas. Being an artist herself, Courtney also loves to lend support to local artists by selling various original artworks from local artists. Supporting local small business has never been so important, as they are the backbone of our economy.

I rarely write reviews but I feel I must because I love, love, love this place. The owner is always friendly and nice. It has a very French Quarter shop vibe with the tin tiled ceiling, cracked plastered walls with exposed brick, hanging lights and beautifully painted and distressed antiques and decor. I could really spend some bucks in this store if I had any more room in my house. She always stocks a good selection of Debbie's DIY paints and IOD molds and transfers. My only advice would be to call before going because sometimes she has side projects and doesn't get the store open on time.

0ver 4 months ago we purchased an interior architectural piece from the Rusty Gypsy for about $350. We had traveled to Ontario on business and found this store on our way for lunch in nearby Upland. As we could not take the item with us on the airplane, we asked that they calculate shipping costs so we could arrange delivery to Northern California. We have called them at least 6 times over the last several months asking for shipping arrangements and despite assurances from owners Courtney and Rudy Zunga, no progress has been made in shipping. A month ago, Courtney explained to me that she had been absent from the shop and that without her, Rudy has “difficulty following through on projects”. It seems they both do. So today I have to contact my credit card company to dispute the charges. This entire thing has become a a major hassle. Recent phone messages have gone unanswered. Not sure if they are crooks, or just lazy. Ridiculous!

My wife and my favorite salvage and vintage store (*of all time) is Rusty Gypsy on 2nd Ave in Upland CA. I almost hate to let out the secret of this honey hole lol! Courtney is the owner and is also a talented furniture painter, artist,& restorer. She and hubby Rudy rescue salvage from homes being demolished so that WE get to recyle and re use their unique finds in our homes! My wife gets DIY paint from her store and they stock IOD moulds and transfers..brushes too. There is so much to see at Rusty Gypsy..it is a MUST for shopping vintage furniture or salvage. We have many pieces we've purchased from her including vintage windows and mirrors. Can't wait to go back!
