Ladies & gentlemen - TRUST THE YELPERS ON THIS ONE...this is the WORST possible choice you can make in a moving company... I had a rush move on April 23, 2008; I spoke with Michelle McCoy to set it up & was quoted: 1 Truck/s 3 Men, $75.00/hrs, 3.0 hours $225.00 5% fuel charge $11.25 Total Moving Rate $236.25 This sounded like a very good rate at the time, so I went ahead & confirmed it (mistake numero uno) for 10 am...explain to me why on the day of the move, I get a phone call from the foreman/driver at 7:30 am telling me that they'll be at my home within an hour?! Being that I'm already NOT the morning person, things got kinda messy really quickly being that he was trying to shove this time slot down my throat, & I wasn't having it; I was sick as a dog at the time (bronchitis, & have serious difficulties breathing) & I tried to politely explain that I wasn't at the residence & that I'd requested my time slot knowing this in advance, while he insisted that was the time his dispatch had on his workload form, & insisted that he was on his way. I advised him that he could show up that early if he wanted to, but he & his men would be sitting there until the time I requested or we could cancel the move; needless to say, I won that round! When they arrived, they were very good about working around the chaos (my home had been raided by the po-po behind someone that previously lived there, so a bunch of my boxes were in total disarray due to their tossing them!); I walked them thru the house & explained to them exactly what it was that I was moving. HOWEVER, things started going downhill again when I asked why the TV's hadn't made it to the truck yet...it was at that time the foreman tried telling me that there was an additional charge of $40/piece for their moving televisions & glass items...say WHAT?! EXCUSE ME?! Explain to me why this fee was never mentioned during the 10 or so emails Michelle & I sent amongst ourselves prior to the move?! Explain to me why a so-called MOVING COMPANY would be charging extra to do their damn job?! FINALLY, PLEASE explain to me what would make you think that I'd pay you $40 vs. packing/moving myself or hiring someone that charges what, $50 for something of that nature...ARE YOU SERIOUS?! SO, after I packed & moved my OWN televisions, my son & I go back upstairs to finish up our rooms...the foreman goes to move my desk. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME how he managed to rip the shelves/legs (combo, which totally messes up the desk) off of my desk?!?!?! When I noticed that the desk was gone & but the shelves were still lying there on the floor, his explanation was "oh...I thought they were removable..." DID YOU BOTHER NOTICING THAT THEY WERE SCREWED IN?! Did you NOT feel a ripping sensation when you were RIPPING THEM OFF?!?!?! WOW...he then tells me that he'll try putting them back on & if he couldn't, all I'd need to do is file a claim; do you think he ever bothered trying to put them back on? NO. So, now the foreman's rushing to get done w/in a 4 hour time range, since they have another move to get to after mine. I said fine, so long as they had all of the boxes that I'd told him about prior (after running up & down stairs all morning, my breathing issues were getting progressively worse & I was having my son supervise much of it). Help me understand why once we get to our storage unit, all of my kitchenware (pots, pans, dishes, etc) were MIA? Why didn't any of my kids' electronics, a box of books, or a box of clothing (large plastic container?!) make it either?! THEN, to add insult to injury, the foreman has me sign off on the final documentation & slips another hour on; when questioned about that, he tells me that his boss wanted him to add it for "drive time back to San Jose"...WTH do I look like paying you for something that you'd have to do ANYWAY?!

I've already had two really good moves with the company. On the third one, there was minor damaged caused by the movers, but the company worked with me to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. I would use them again. thanks! Jim

These guys seem to have many names...I wonder if that is an effort to elude the customers from bad reviews. The company I worked with was called XO Movers (they have the same address as these guys so I assume it is the same). I sheduled an appointment with these guys the friday before I wanted to move. I told them that I lived on a very steep, dead end street and they they would need a small tryck. They told me they could arrive between 12-2. But I did not have my credit card on me to finalize the deal. I called later that day when I had my card but no one answered. I left a message but not my card number. I assumed they would go through with the move or call me if there was an issue (after all we have confirmed the move). I had actually set up a move with another company but these guys convinced me that they were rates A with the BBB. At 2:30 they had still not arrived nor called. I called and spoke to Melissa who told me that since they had not heard from me they had moved my time to 3:30 and that they would be arriving in an hour. At 4 I got a call from one of the drivers that he was stuck on the bridge and would be a little late probably 5 or so (at this point we had waited 5 hours). All day I was calling the company and leaving messages (no one ever answered the phone. I left 15 VM). A little after 6 a team of 4 arrived but were not able to get the massive truck up my street. They told me that they would come back in the morning. I woke up at 7 and called the office, no answer. I called the driver I had spoken with and he told me that he had spoken with his supervisor and that he would call me soon. We waiting until 11 and I finally called a nother company to see if they could come last minute. At 11:30 I got a call from XO movers saying that they could come later in the day and bring another smaller truck that they would have to rent. Get this...not only was there no discount...but they wanted me to pay more for the rental truck!!! I ended up finding other movers to help us out but by the time they made it to the house it was already 3:30 and they were not able to finish the job in the daylight. Now I have to take off work early so that they can come and move the rest of my stuff. Basically I waited 2 days for these clowns and they never showed up. Then they had the gaul to call me up and basically tell me the whole thing was my fault.... Disgusting!!!

I would give them a zero but the minimum is one star. They made our move a very stressful experience. This is rough to say when you think about the fact that moving is one of the top 5 stresses in life. It started out ok as our sales person was nice and helpful. He gave me a good feeling so I thought we should give them a try. Then the pick up was actually ok because the worker was very nice and helpful albeit very costly and way beyond our 'quoted' budget. From here on out it was a nightmare. We were partway to our new locale and called to check in. We were informed that by no way would our stuff reach our new house. It had not even left Union City! WTF? All guarantees were gone, the gal was rude, the manager would not call us back so we camped with our kids in the same clothes for 5 days. When our goods made it - the driver was unaware of our need for a shuttle van (53' semi to small truck to navigate our tight route) so we were charged again, not to mention held back time wise. And - he brought a helper who was way too old to be moving furniture and he admitted it was his first day on the job. He huffed and puffed all night long which made me feel guilty that he was working. The second worker left midway through the move without notice. I should not feel guilty for paying $5,000 for a move that was 5 days late, items broken, a crew tired and rude..... I would never wish this experience on anyone. They need to get it together or they need to get out because they are terrible.

I had a terrible experience with Dimensions. They gave a time of 11am and showed up for the move at 3:30pm. No one asked or took inventory of the move when scheduled and then later blamed me for taking until 3am to complete the move even with the addition of an extra truck and men. The movers were unprofessional and disrespectful. Feeling bad for the men I paid for their dinner and all beverages througth the night only to find out that they left garbage outside and inside the old home and all over the front yard of the new home. They took apart furniture and did not put it together. Many boxes were thrown into the garage and left for me to place in the correct rooms. I wish I read the reviews earlier but now with experience I would never increase the stress of the move by hiring this moving company ever again and woul not recommend them to anyone I like!!!

I cannot encourage you strongly enough to stay away from this company. The short version: charged more than twice the estimate charged $241 in packing fees- including deeming some of my packing "insufficient," then broke some of the items they repacked provided incorrect information to my homeowners association that resulted in a $75 charge violated the terms of our contract with late delivery, resulting in a $150 after-hours violation charge from the HOA lost one of my boxes and did not return calls - including requests to speak with and message left for a supervisor and the owner - for the last two weeks damaged the legs on three separate bookcases, broke a picture, broke one of the legs off my antique dresser, and other miscellaneous damages their claims company compensates 60 cents per pound Working with Dimension Movers has been a nightmare. Upon arrival, they tried to dissuade me from paying by weight, as agreed upon in my contract, selling me on a "per cubic feet" plan instead. As part of the paperwork required to get your move under way, they make you sign a "not to exceed" form, listing the absolute maximum you'll pay. to assess this, the guy doubled the weight used to quote my estimate- and I was required to pay 75% of that amount on the spot. Throughout the move, the lead mover found various items he deemed insufficiently packed and repacked many of them in other boxes, for which I was charged $241. This includes a large framed poster, for which I was charged $30 for a mirror box and $26 for packing. The glass in the frame was cracked when my things were delivered. Richard, who estimated my move and guided me through the initial paperwork, told me I should coordinate with my homeowners association, so I contacted the HOA. They sent me all the rules for delivery, which I forwarded on to Dimension to ensure compliance. At some point, Tammy at Dimension and my HOA started communicating, and papers were sent to my HOA saying the moving truck could be up to 52 feet long, so we were required to hire someone to direct traffic at my new building, for which we were charged $75. When the truck arrived, it was no more than 25 feet long. To abide by the 1-3 day delivery agreed upon in the contract, Dimension schedule my move for the third day. The HOA allows moves from 9am to 4pm, and Dimension was notified by email and on the paperwork they provided that asked if there were times they might be denied access. On that paper, I wrote before 9am and after 4pm. Apparently, the driver thought this meant he had to show up after 4, because he arrived at 4pm and said they'd been waiting all day. Funny, I'd been calling Tammy all day, reminding her of the 4pm deadline, to which she replied, "They should be there between 3 and 5. There's traffic." The after-hours move incurs another $150 charge by the HOA. At this time, I also received my weight summary, which was almost EXACTLY the weight estimate used to calculate my "not to exceed." My fees were more than double my estimate. Dimension tags your possessions and provides an inventory list, and at the end of my move, I was missing one box and had one box that didn't have a tag. The driver said, "Well, it's safe to assume that's the box," and I didn't have choice but to agree. However, after I unpacked, it was clear there was indeed a missing box. I called Tammy, and she said she'd look in the storage unit for it- but didn't even ask me what it looked like. After several days, I followed up, and she said she had a post-it reminder to look into it. Another few days went by, and when I called, she said "Bad news. I can't find it." I asked if she called the deliveries before and after me. She said, "You want me to call them?" and I said, "Yes." She said ok, but I never heard from her again. I called and asked to speak to the supervisor, and he was unavailable, so I left a message asking for a return call, which I did not receive. I also left a

DONT USE THEM! They will cheat you and then wash their hands off.... We scheduled my move from Chicago to California, as we was moving out here. They made us create an inventory of the items we had and we did that as best and based on that they provided us a quote, saying that they would weigh the truck before and after the load and charge us for anything over 2000 pounds (under 2000 pounds was in the original quote) So when the guys came to pick up the stuff, they dismantled the furniture (dismantling and reassembling was part of the quote + crating the TV) Anyway they didn't crate the TV then since they would have to cut the plywood at the warehouse according to the size and then crate it, which was OK with us till it got done. After the pickup, we called them multiple times to check if the TV was crated and if the truck had left yet, every time they said yes the TV is crated but we will call you when the truck leaves. None called us the day the truck left (it left almost 12 days after they picked up our stuff, maybe that's how they work) Anyway so we called them again after 12-13 days to find out and got to know the truck had left and no one had called us and again asked for the TV crate, apparently it was done. The stuff was supposed to get here in 5-6 days, after 7 days we called again to find out where the truck was, we got to know the truck had reached (and of course no one had called us) and they will be delivering the stuff the next day. The day the stuff came, we expected 2-3 people to be there to assemble the furniture, only 1 guy showed up with the truck, he was in no mood to unload the truck unless we paid him the rest of the money (almost a $1000 extra than the initial quote), so left with no choice we paid him, along with a tip of about $200. And of course this is all an estimate that we have to "trust" them with since the truck never got weighed. Finally when he had unloaded all the stuff (took 4 hrs on a workday which we took off) he didn't want to assemble the furniture, we called the company and the guy tells us he is not a carpenter (so whatever was agreed on the contract doesn't matter). Not to mention that the guy was extremely rude and didn't even take off his shoes or get shoe covers. Since we had already paid him, he just dropped off the stuff and went off and told us if we had issues call the company and talk to them. Very very Rude and cheats! Never Never Never use this company, they will rip you off.

When researching moving companies, all I could find was the Better Business Bureau but I thought this review would be helpful and maybe save some future movers ! I hired this company for a move from Sacramento to the Bay Area... and here was what I ended up getting from this company : 1) The time frame for pickup was between 2-4 but the movers did NOT show up until 9PM , after I had to call them 3 times 2) The original estimate was increased by the Drivers when they got to the property and the movers would NOT even begin packing until I agreed and 3) I did not get to the new location until after 1:30AM. The contract stated that they guaranteed same day delivery and that I would be satisfied. I spoke with the manager several times and he was very apologetic and wanted to make amends. I asked for a nominal refund to make up for the extremely late moving times, he forwarded my complaint to their customer service department who simply stated I would Not be receiving any refund. I highly recommend you choose your movers wisely, even if the cost is more, you do get what you pay for. Also research with the Better Business Bureau as well as research licenses with the Dept of Transportation.

Thought it was my duty to update my review and downgrade these guys. After phone tag and promises of crediting back money on my move, nothing ever materialized.

Oh Yelpers, why didn't I listen to you? The short story: I do NOT recommend this company. Just pay the extra $ to hire another company with better reviews. They initially appear professional & low cost - but this is definitely not the case. They gave me sweet low estimate & then tried to rip me off on moving day by charging me extra for unnecessary things (already covered in the contract!) & taking their sweet time moving my things. I could have done the work of these two men in the same amount of time. In addition, they gave me a huge headache (see the long story below), scratched up & broke my furniture, and gave me unnecessary stress up the wazoo trying to rip me off & threatening to hold my furniture hostage. The long story: I hired Dimension a couple weeks ago for my 1 bdroom apt move. $65/hr for 3 hrs, arriving between 12-2pm (to avoid bay area rush hour traffic & to avoid inconveniencing my neighbors). I made sure to confirm that there would be NO extra charges, only what was included in the estimate/contract. They call me on Thursday morning to say, " This is to confirm your appointment from 3-5pm" Um, excuse me, we'd agreed on 12-2pm. Oh, let me check.... 3 phone calls later & lots of back-peddling ("Oh, we never said we'd confirmed 12-2pm.... we can't confirm the appointment time till the day before. Oh really? Why didn't you tell me that when I booked the appointment 2 weeks ago? I would have hired someone else) they finally agreed to send me a "special" truck between 12-2pm (oh great, that sounds like it's supposed to be good but in fact, is not so good). Two movers arrived 10 minutes before 12pm on Friday, Oct. 1st. Sweet that they arrived early! But then... I guess it's a bit of a case of unmet expectations. I was expecting two large, capable movers. Instead, two very small movers (not much taller than my 5'5") arrived. But I held my reservations in check... maybe they're very strong, fast small movers? The one guy who could speak English went over the paperwork with me... we walked through the apartment & I showed him what needed to be moved, etc. Along the way, he says things like... "Oh, that bed, we're going to have to wrap the mattress & box springs separately.... will cost you $20/item, but if you treat my partner well *wink* (I took his wink to mean he wanted me to tip them generously) I can do it for free. I should have just kicked him out at this point, but I thought I could handle it. Then he wanted to charge me an extra $75 for wrapping my small glass kitchen table countertop (forget it, I said, just leave it, I'll move it myself)... & he said, well, there's going to be extra fees for wrapping all of the glass items & moving them (there were no other glass items!!)... Ugh, I was getting really irritated. I finally got a chance to talk to Mike Magen, the supervisor/owner before I signed the paperwork... I questioned all of the extra fees & told him I just wanted them to do what was exactly on the contract. Wrap my furniture in the blankets that were supposed to be included in the estimate & nothing more. They said it would take at least 4 hours. So I agreed to add one extra hour. I mean, come on, it's a 1 bedroom apartment! So it's now 20 minutes past & the driver wants to charge me for the full 20 minutes in which he has done zero work & IMHO, wasted most of the time trying to rip me off & hemming & hawing. But he claimed his partner had already started moving things from the start (not true) - but I agreed to half the time just because I wanted to him to stop talking and start moving. Then of course... they are soul-crushingly slow. They park unnecessarily far away from my front door, take the loooongest route possible to the car, and move about one box at a time (with a dolly that could obviously take much more). Near the 2 hour mark, there are still a few items left & Mario (who earlier signed his name on my paperwork a

DO NOT HIRE THEM.. I found them on Craigslist and called them to find out the prices, Spoke to David and on the phone and he mentioned it would be 195 dollars including the furniture assembling service. I signed up for this and scheduled the move from San jose to Santa Clara on 9th OCT for noon, On 9th they come around 1:30pm after I called couple of times to their office. Now comes the bad part the lead guy checks my 2 bdroom apartment and tells me that it would cost 600 dollars and 50 dollars for the TV and gives me a long list of other items that they would charge me like wrap etc. When I asked about the 195 dollars guarantee they mention it was just an estimate and not the actual price, They never mentioned that it was an estimate when I spoke them in the first place, Any way I didnt have any other way as I packed everything and I negotiated with the movers for 400 dollars and I moved the TV myself. This is classic Bait & Switch, I wish I checked Yelp before but learned my lesson now. Dont even entertain this company. CHEATERS...

Day One: I saw a posting on Craigslist and called Dimension Moving and Storage to help me move to my new apartment. The person on the phone of course is very convincing and assures me of their service and punctuality. They bring their truck and dismount and remount stuff!! I was more than happy. I am told movers would show up at 7 p.m sharp on the day of am moving. Everything is set and am almost convinced that there will be no last minute goof-ups. Day Two: I get a call the day of move at 3 p.m saying they are short staffed and they would not be done with the job they are working on till 10 p.m, but I should hang in there and someone is calling me right back, bottom line is my move was delayed. I don't get any calls till 6 p.m and all I get is the voice mail when I called the office of Dimension Moving, mind you this is the day am suppose to move at 7 p.m. I finally get a hold of someone after calling frantically the entire evening and am told they might come or might not come that evening. So I ask them to reschedule for the next day at 7 a.m. I am told that there is no guarantee and the movers might show up between 8 a.m and 10 a.m. Talk of punctuality. I wish I saw the reviews on Yelp to know that I was working with highly unprofessional company. I wish Yelp had the option of Zero stars or Black Stars. After reading the reviews now, I went ahead and even got my card canceled to avoid any fraudulent charges.

Hello yelpers ! On sep-9 I called Dimension to schedule our 2 bedroom move from the Castro-San Francisco to our new home in willow glen- San Jose. Our 3 movers got to our place as scheduled, and in 2 hours we were done and on our way to San Jose. 4.5 hours was the total time of our move, just as dimension estimated our move. I just wanted to say thank you for the good job.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! -Quoted $1235 ended up paying over $1700! -Hidden costs involving packing materials and glass objects -Spent the last three days moving all of my own pictures and mirrors -Called customer service to complain and report missing items, got an answering machine and no call back. After four days reached someone in customer service who is checking with the driver! -The job went two days instead of the one day quoted. I can't imagine there are any real positive comments on this board-the four and five star ratings must be from insiders. Big mistake contracting these guys in the first place-terrible

I settled a claim with Dimension Moving last week. The process began in January and ended when I deposited the check on Friday (27 Aug). About eight months after the move. The total for the move was more than $2k and the return I got was about $311.19. Beyond that I'm not allowed to say anything because they had me sign a non-disclosure agreement or I would get no settlement. They are aware that the below is going to remain as I made that part of the NDA and the record via email to Mike Magen.
