A great pit stop on the way to or from the Sierra. The store is stocked with lots of goodies and is very clean. We rented skis there today and the process was so easy. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes and the prices were much cheaper than at Sierra at Tahoe where we skied. The staff are great: friendly and efficient. I have driven by this store so many times without stopping but now it will be my go to place on Highway 50!

When traveling to or from Tahoe on the 50, this store is located just about in the right place for restroom and snacks for the road kinda stop. It's an easier stop if traveling westbound as it's on the north (right) side of the road and you don't have to cross busy traffic to pull off. They even have electric car charging stations if you need and you might having an electric car. I have gas to no need for me. The inside of the store is nice and clean and seems organized like a normal store with the drinks and snacks easy to find. Prices are normal convience store pricing, so yeah same stuff is cheaper at Walmart, but this ain't Walmart out here in the mountains. Staff was efficient and checked out my purchases fine. This place is located right across the highway from the Strawberry Lodge. All these little towns along Highway 50 have small gas stations and stores, but I would stop at one where the store is in your direction of travel, it's way dangerous trying to cross oncoming traffic on this busy road ... and you really don't wanna try crossing traffic in the winter with chain controls up!

Perfect pit stop for all, but especially for climbers. Lots of gear, shoes, apparel, and packs for sale. There is a lot of good souvenirs, stickers, Cotopaxi bags, Tahoe apparel, and water shoes in the general store portion which also has a good variety of snacks. Clean store and friendly service- even has freshly baked cookies! There is a restroom.

My truck broke down close to this store on my way to dj a wedding in Toiyabe golf course. The owner of this store, offered to drive me to South Lake Tahoe. He brought his truck, helped me transfer all my stuff (a lot of equipment) to his truck then drove me all the way to U haul in S. Lake Tahoe. In addition, he had called the U haul ahead of time to ensure I was able to secure a cargo van. He also helped in putting all my equipment into the cargo van as I secured the van.He goes by the name Squirrell, and he was God sent to me on that day. He is light that shows that there is still so much good in this earth. If you happen to be on your way from or to South Lake Tahoe on Highway 50, I’d recommend giving this family your business.I am forever grateful to this family.Ps: the black guy is writing the review…

The Strawberry General Store located in Strawberry, Ca. has been part of our family for over 2 decades. Under new ownership for the last year and a half , you will find those little things you need or want while camping, fishing, skiing, or just getting some fresh air in the Sierra mountains. Located just above the South Fork of the Stanislaus River, which flows from Pinecrest Lake, the Strawberry Store provides fishing licenses in case you forget. Visit upstairs behind the Store and find a beautiful little cafe with famous fudge and all the swag your kids will love. When you visit, try one of the specialty beers, for the adults, when you get back to camp and make supper. This is a cute little store with retro wood floors and old school refrigerators, don't miss out and visit on your next trip!

This place is the best. If you are anywhere near here stop by and say what’s up to the friendly folks. Awesome gear shop. Great snacks. Hard to beat.

If you're heading up this way towards Tahoe. This is a go to place if you want somewhere to stop and shop for things you might need on the road or for when you get to your location I believe it's family ran. They are very friendly helpful. they have things for you to rent as well as a bathroom for those that need a place to use the restroom but don't just use the restroom. Be sure to check out their store and buy a few things that you could use during your trip to pay it forward for them having their bathroom open that's just my opinion and my morals and ethics talking, they do have some good choices for snacks and food so don't miss out on stopping by this place. I do see a EV charger as well for those that have electric vehicles that may need a charge so if you're in this area heading up towards Tahoe or away from Tahoe. Check them out and always remember to drive safe

Huge shout out to the staff here for their great service and assistance! I was coming over the highway from Tahoe and had a tire lose a battle to a pothole. As soon as I pulled in, I was offered a floor jack, tools, torque wrench, and an air compressor to get off and rolling on my spare. With their help, the whole operation was over in about 15 minutes. This stop was a saving grace!!

Great coffee and espresso, plus everything you would expect in a convenience store. Climbing gear, souvenirs and other stuff too.
