This 1 star is a review of our experience with Aaron and his property management as a whole. Aaron was awful to me from our first face-to-face communication and preferred to deal with my husband instead of me. He claimed we weren't supposed to move in until a certain date, and also claimed we signed a 1 year lease rather than a 6 month. When I explained that wasn't true, he said I'll have to send him a copy of the lease to confirm that. Then, he exclaimed, "I have all Five Star reviews, so I'm a good property manager(I don't know if he doesn't read google reviews, but he has far from 5 stars). He also didn't give us a set of keys - he gave us one key and 5 dollars to get a copy - which we drove to Yucca Valley to get. Thanks...
The apartment was a disgusting disaster when we moved in, and he didn't seem to be too concerned by it when we shared images of it through email with him(see photos). The photos included are just a glimpse into what we dealt with for the mere three months we inhabited this apartment. There was a constant sewer stench from one of the bathrooms no matter how much bleach we cleaned with, and the shower squealed a loud, high-pitched sound the entire time it was on. The ant problem was totally out of control when we moved in, the fridge leaked water into our food the last week we were there and the carpets were stained to hell and back. There were two doors that hung out in the kitchen that were supposed to be hung on the closet, bedroom, and cabinet in the bathroom. His excuse was that we weren't supposed to be moving in until a later date - so he didn't get to it(over a month after we applied and he told us we got the apartment).
When we made Aaron aware of these discrepancies, he said he would tell his maintenance team and they would schedule a time to fix all of it. I got an email from his wife a few days later. I realized that his maintenance and housecleaning team was his wife- and not a proper company. If she did this kind of job before we moved in, I wasn't interested in having her interrupt my work schedule to do the same job again.
In November, we got orders to leave 29 Palms. I made Aaron aware of this, and received no response for over a week. When I emailed him asking if he had seen my email, he said he was "On vacation, and will need a copy of the orders". I forwarded him a copy, and again - no response. I asked if he received them a week later and he said he did.
Fast forward to our move-out inspection on December 28th. We did the walk-through and he said, "Hey man, I'm really sorry we had to charge you another months rent and keep the deposit but it says it in the lease"
I asked him, "Why is that?..." and he said, "Because you terminated your lease." I responded, "We're PCS-ing and sent you the orders. We're protected under the soldiers and sailors act..." He said, "Oh, I'll have to check on that"
About 7 days later, we received our full deposit in the mail at our new place. All in all, I recommend steering clear of Harcourts but I understand if that isn't an option due to the lack of availability in 29 Palms. If there is any advice I can offer you, it's to manage your expectations with this property manager.

Aaron will always do what’s best for Aaron, no matter if you can show him in black and white it still doesn’t matter. The customer is most definitely not king with him.

Sarah went above and beyond to help our family find a new place to call home. The process was faster than expected, which is great. I'd highly recommend Harcourts Prime Properties!

Rented for two and half years in this place. I decided to stay because Im already comfortably set up with cable , electricity and its only 10 minutes away from base. When I first got it here there are too many visible damage. The amount of mold around the fridge and in the washer was desturbing. I immediately reported but nothing was done about it. I cleaned and sanitized the fridge myself. The front door has a dent in the middle. Looks like somebody punched it. The living room wall have visible dents. The door wasnt replaced even after I left. Initially they told me the door was ordered. The window screen has holes. I bought some safety locks for the windows just in case. Carpet is dusty throughout the apartment. The mail box that Ive had was broken. Cant close it.You get what you paid for.⭐️⭐️ stars for being better priced than the average market and rent stayed the same. This unit is 10 minutes from the base. Washer and dryer works and available. It has heater and AC!They might take half of your deposit (happened to me)regardless of how much shampooing and cleaning you do. I would have fought to get it back but I just want to get out of 29 Palms immediately. The cleaning company, as Ive observed, works for the management or part of the management ?♂️. Aaron is always busy. He has multiple jobs. He is hard to reach and hard to coordinate.

This company is a bunch of crooks. Added in late fees a YEAR later after new property manager took over. LATE FEES HAPPENED DURING COVID PANDEMIC Zack Harris is a crook and I wouldn't recommend anyone rent thru him or buy a home from him

I have worked with Zach Harris of Harcourts Prime Properties for many years. in both the buying and selling of homes, it is so important to work with someone who is completely professional, extremely knowledgeable and reliable. Zach guided me through each and every transaction - making the sometimes complicated ( and, usually stressful) process of buying or selling a home easier and more comfortable. I would not hesitate to call Zach and trust him in this important time of home purchase or sale. Barbara Ojena

I have been with Harcourts for 5 years now and have found them to be helpful and reliable. After working with sub par property management companies at different locations. I'm glad to have a property that runs smoothly.

Terrible, multiple marines and sailors have had a bad experience with Aaron and his assistance. From moldy apartments with pests to him denying residents fire extinguishers. Last time I checked 29 palms marine corps base was working on black listing this company. The apartments are unfinished and just terrible management.

I understand tenants do not have many options during COVID and housing shortages, so all I will say is that they do not clean before you arrive, and stuff left in cabinets can become quite disgusting so I would advise to budget extra money to hire a professional cleaner to clean the property before you move in. Some photos included below that I took while cleaning.
