Best place to visit for those into an outdoor lifestyle (hiking, camping, walking, biking, and sports apparel and shoes). Staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. This particular REI was relatively big compared to the others I’ve visited except for the REI HQ in Seattle.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Matt helped me pick a backpack and let me know about the benefits of co-op membership. Great business.

Will not shop.their anymore. Over priced and their political views suck.

NOT SO GOOD ! My wife and I popped in here on Friday looking to buy a specific pair of eyeglasses for my wife when we ride our eBikes. A friendly sales assistant gave us the best help he could but they didn't have what we needed. The store was incredibly busy...they must have had a big sale going on. It's just not my model....high prices and many obscure brands !

SO SO ! My wife and I were picking up my beer supplies next door at Total Wine & More on Friday afternoon. I've been wanting to buy some sun sleeves ( arm protection ) for our bike rides now the weather is starting to get warmer. We popped in here ( first time ) around 3.30pm and headed to the cycling section. They carry a very limited range.....the same boring bright white Pearl Izumi sun sleeves I've seen before in a few of their stores. I'll get them on Amazon where there is much more choice !

Absolutely awesome location 10/10.
I received an ad regarding their upcoming anniversary sale and it just so happened that I also am in need of some hiking boots for an upcoming trip.
I went in on a Saturday afternoon during peak hours while they were running huge promos and saw tons of customers waiting around the hiking shoe area - I was dreading walking over as I figured the chances of getting helped would be slim.
Not only was I helped by incredibly knowledgeable staff quickly - they were also friendly even with all the rush going on!!
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience - even the checkout (all things considered with the big weekend promotions) was fast!
Would highly recommend to come to this location.

Member Since 1993. Very Unsatisfied in the way REI has cut back on customer care over the years. My wife was never "100% Satisfied" with the bike I purchased for her only being available in one size and the color she wanted was out of stock but we still kept the bike and made it work. REI rarely discounts bikes anymore and after waiting forever and that never happening I proceeded with the purchase of the bike for my wife. So you can understand my frustration to see not very long after the initial dissatisfaction of the bike purchase of course now that brand of bike is now being discounted. I would have thought I could get a credit back especially if it was with in the supposed "1 year" "100% satisfaction guaranteed return or exchange". Need less to say I found out that's not the case. During a call with the store manager regarding the dissatisfaction of the bike I purchased for my wife and asking for some kind of credit back and It was explained to me by the manager since we're past the 14 day price adjustment period we don't qualify for a credit. She also stated to do a return even though we are with in the "1 year 100% Satisfaction return or exchange" period, as she put it, "it isn't in the Spirit of the Co-Op". Which means they really don't stand behind everything they sell and it really doesn't matter if you are not "100% satisfied with your purchase", you can't always exchange or return even if it's within the "1 Year" period from purchase. I wasn't even trying to return or exchange, I was merely asking for a credit back from the difference between sale and purchase price whether it be monetary or store credit. I have to say the "Spirit" of the co-op has definitely changed in the last 30+ years I've been a member. There was a time when you could get a prorated or even full refund for a return item years later after purchase. To me it makes no sense to have a "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" if you're not going to stand behind it and the nerve of the manager to tell me "it's not in the spirit of the co-op to return the bike". There is absolutely no reason why I should be denied a return or exchange for an item that's with in the "1 Year - 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" period, no reason whatsoever!!!

Wanted to get a mountain bike to give me a kickstart on my effort to be outdoors more and was surprised at how things have changes since I was a teenager. You gotta have a PhD in bicycle science and have a budget from $600-5k. Yep, for a bike. So im not die hard and settled for a Cannondale Trail 8 for $850 out the door with a helmet. Mind you - you could buy a used CRF125 and shred more dirt. Anyway, will definitely use this investment on two wheels and wouldve gave 5 stars but theyre in Orange County. Be prepared for ostentatious type A personalities. Luckily, I prepaid and went in and out fast.

For starters, I love REI. I love their products, and the general warmth of their workers. I've had several great interactions with their staff, who genuinely showed interest and concern in my experience with them.
Then, I came to this location two weeks ago with my autistic uncle, and things took a turn.
I'd recommended he look for some camping gear at REI, because of their great selection. We came in, and my uncle asked a worker some details about pricing for a particular backpack. My uncle rambled on as he usually does, but as be blurted out, "I love this but would it be cheaper if I got it online?", the worker abruptly turned away to end the conversation. No words, just walked away.
As my uncle and I walked away, I could hear the worker and a few his work buddies laughing and talking loudly about their interaction with my uncle. Then as we walked away, the worker loudly exclaimed, "We don't judge!", as be continued laughing with his work buds. His voice trailed off as I heard him making fun of my uncle, in front of other customers.
I love REI. But I'll never come back to REI Tustin. That interaction left a very bad taste in the mouth, especially from a company that prides itself on inclusivity and creating a welcoming environment. Seriously? Please, do better.

Too crowded during a ~20% sale. Worth it if you're buying over $500 items. Not so much for less unless you have your eye set on something specific that you're already going to buy anyway.
.
As usual, employee knowledge is excellent.
No real wide zero lift trail runners in non waterproof versions (I overwhelm breathable waterproof fabric so it just holds the water in)
