If Kanan Jewelry were a person, they are that friend who can read between the lines of what you think you want, yet hear what your heart truly desires. They are that friend in your life who always gives you the perfect gift that is energized with uncanny empathy. They have an ability to take the ordinary and recreate it as extraordinary.
I have been friends with Kanan Jewelry for two decades…and counting, and they will always be part of my life’s inner circle.
Kanan Jewelry is that place where you can go and visit with your dogs, have a cup of coffee, and share a vision you have been mulling over in your own mind. You have five family rings and you can’t wear them all, so you want to recreate them as one ring, and you do. It’s a ring you saw in the Sundance catalogue, yet your finished product is so much more spectacular, because it has history woven within it. Years later, you’ve changed your mind and you want to recreate that ring as a beautiful bracelet that you saw at Tiffany. And then, years after that, you want to meld that bracelet together with another bracelet that was birthed from a stash of other gold pieces. Now you have this perfect cuff bracelet that sparkles like the night’s sky, and your wonderful friend has ensured that it fits you just so. Every time you look at it, you see your GrandMothers' engagement rings from the 30s, sparkling alongside a ring that your Father gifted your Mother when you were born. There is energy in that same cuff from rings gifted by friends, and even a commitment ring you gifted yourself over the years.
This is one of the many beautiful things about having Kanan Jewelry as part of your life. They evolve with you as part of your life, just like any really good friend does.
Everything I wear every day, I have because of Kanan Jewelry. Some of my pieces are recreations of family history that I have shared here, and some of my treasures are brand new creations by James and Bryan Kanan. Kanan Jewelry has a wonderful family history, and I feel blessed to have them be a part of mine.
Looking ahead, I’ve already shared with them what I would like my wedding ring to look like. Now, I just need to find a nice man!

Bryan Kanan was such a delight to work with and created the perfect wedding band for my fiance! We are so pleased with how it turned out and it was made in such a timely fashion. James and Bryan are the real deal! They represent 3 generations of jewelers and it shows - they can design and make everything from custom high end fine jewelry to bespoke turquoise pieces. They've made numerous custom pieces for me and my family over the past 30 years and are incredibly talented and professional. Would highly recommend them to anyone!

I have been going here for years!! I knew when I got married this is where we would have our rings made! We got to share our design ideas with James he made them beautifully and we got to help in the finish of the rings! It was so personal and perfect! We keep going back for more !!

Kanan Design provides top class craftsmanship, true attention to detail, and their work is of the utmost quality! James and Bryan are true artisans. I have been coming to Kanan design for 5 years. James helped me select a style/theme of engagement ring and crafted a custom ring for my wife that stuns to this day. For my wedding ring, I had a very specific design in mind. James provided precise renderings with measurements that gave me a clear view of what the completed project would look like. Bryan then crafted an amazing ring that involved a row of diamonds surrounded by a white gold inlay on a yellow gold ring. The craftsmanship and quality are as good as it gets. I have worn this ring while deep sea fishing, harvesting sea urchins, and even cliff diving and the diamonds are as secure and fixed as the day I first picked the ring up from Kanan Design. I cannot speak highly enough about James and Bryan's work. Simply put, they are the best!
