Scam, Avoid Citibank, Broken Promises Promotion: open an account, fund it, and you get a bonus. I completed all requirements. funded the account with sufficient money and kept it in there for long enough etc. now there's 90 days passed and I have made numerous calls to both the branch as well as corporate. one sends me to the other. Rocio Padilla is absolutely NOT cooperating at the branch. AVOID AT ALL COST. A bank gets your money. The least they can do is keep their promises.

Stepping into the world of grown-ups with my recently-turned-18-year-old meant tackling some real-life stuff, like opening her first bank account. We went with Citibank. A simple phone call and they squeezed us in for an appointment on the same day. We got lucky with Roberto Castillo. He knew just what we needed and gave us the lowdown on banking and credit, explaining it all to my daughter in terms that made sense. And he did it all with a smile and a warm attitude. The real highlight was when my daughter went to deposit her first paycheck. She had a figure in her mind, a nice round number, that she expected to see on that piece of paper. But when she finally broke the seal on that envelope, let's just say, reality hit her. She hadn't factored in taxes, so seeing a smaller number was a bit of a shocker. Life lesson learned! From start to finish, the experience was smooth and easy, and even fun. Roberto made the whole thing less intimidating and more of a learning experience. Citibank made what could have been a boring chore into a memorable event for a big life milestone. All in all, a good day in the world of adulting.

Let me start off by thanking the branch manager Armando Corona for going beyond expectation on helping me with my account and the information that I was inquiring. He went over and beyond my expectations I rarely write any reviews but this is a worthy one. If you guys have any trouble or any problems with your account or in my case my account was locked. Reach out to Armando Corona the branch manager at Tustin CiTi Bank located on 17th & Prospect. Thank you for all your help and I appreciate it.Best Regards,Matthew Rodriguez

Beware Investment Advisors at Citi. Last Dec 2021, citi branch setup my mom to get investment advise. Advisor Anna persuade my mom to invest all her svgs into a Franklin municipal bond fund. Less than 1 mos, the fund dropped over $5k, and by 5th mos, it dropped $16k more than 11%. Noted my mom is 81 yrs old, do not speak English, and has NO grammar school, not any investment background. I filed a compliant to Citi investigation team. What it came back was she was in suitable investment because her tolerance level is "moderate", and investment knowledge is "moderate". How on earth does a 81 yrs old widow evaluated as "moderate" risk + experienced investor? Then I find out the decision of "suitable fit" was based on "new acct form" she signed. Anna asked my mom signed an open account form (in English), computer-typed by her, ck box "moderate" investment exp, and moderate risk. So my mom never knew what she signed, but was told in chinese that it was an open account form.I was present, and I did asked "shouldn't we wait until next year because Fed is increasing rate, and wouldn't this bond fund goes down?" Anna replied, she followed this fund over 20yrs, and it is very safe and will go back up eventually if it goes down one year. So far, my mom has lost $16,000 over 11% in this fund within 6 mos. And I later find out citi advisors receives commission from clients and being year-end, advisors must be desperate to meet quotas. Also, Please be aware there is no such thing as "Compliant dept" because there is no person's name who email you nor contact phone no. (Only they can talk justify they're right, but you can never talk to anyone! ) When you call and file a compliant, they take your compliant and after 1-mo reply your email with some ridiculous excuses that your investment is right fit, it is just your bad luck investing on the market. BE AWARE OF THE AGENT, "ANNA L"She service Arcadia, Irvine, SG valley. I had to trace her 3 branches to find her#.

i've been a customer for Citi Bank for almost 20 years. I've had account problems all week and all they do is transfer you to somebody else or tell you to call this other number and nobody has answers for you. The worst experience I've ever had. The department told me to show up to a branch and that's what I did. I was told by the manager himself I would get a call back, he never called me. I would have to show up. I even did it three days in a row cause i wasnt communicated. And all I heard was excuses and no answers. The lack of empathy and consideration for a long time customer was unbelievable. He said it was escalated and he might as well just be bsing me to get me out of there because that's what it felt like. that was my experience and I advise everyone to avoid it by not banking with them. as soon as you have an issue with them, you're someone else's problem.

The absolute worst bank EVER. Their overall lack of professional courtesy, customer care, and consummate smugness over the past many years is daunting. I pulled my business accounts 5 years ago for the same reasons. I should have moved my personal accounts, but never got around to it. They recently blocked my accounts (causing several checks to bounce) because they needed some "information from me".. three simple, non-relevant questions or at least nothing that would warrant blocking my accounts WITH OUT ANY NOTICE! After several convos over 1 1/2 days wasting at least 6 hours and no return call backs from my "relationship manager", I've decide to go to Farmers and Merchants and CB can continue to implode under its own ineptness and arrogance.

If CITIBANK ever offers you a promotion by opening an account when you are depositing a large amount. Say NO. They will lie to you when you will receive the promotion credits. They will say 4 months, then 5 months, then 6 months. I have used this bank for 30 years, they have never given me any benefits. I am going to move to another bank. This bank sucks. No loyality promotions. Just lying about their promotions and provide harassing and bad services.

It was very sad I had a very large deposit that came from certain people donated to my mother's death and I had to send out the money right away, for funeral expenses, and they froze my account and ever since then they kept my Social Security money they kept my checks that came in. They are freezing it for 90 days without even explaining to me anything and I'm very disgusted with them. After having several several years of doing business with Citibank they are a sorry bank and if I were you I would never bank with them go with someone else don't go with them, your business would be better appreciated somewhere else.

Worst bank ever! Do not waste your time and come here! The staff is rude and they will not respect you as a client. Also the process is so difficult to get anything done. Britney was very rude. Refusing to help and asking me to leave instead of helping me. GO TO CHASE BETTER!

Along with the others leaving reviews, this Citi bank is a joke. Samia has no business being a branch manager and after multiple bad experiences we closed all accounts today, after branching there for 15+ years. Save your time and go elsewhere.
