Definitely not the same level of customer service as Bank of the West.What happened to the original tellers?How about the old manager?You folks did yourself a disservice by loosing them as employees.These people don't greet you by your name.I have seen many unhappy customer faces since the transition to BMO.

Had wonderful customer service today with Angi who helped me understand the cross-border accounts they offer. She took her time to go over what BMO can and can't provide along with account fees. Very knowledgeable and patient.

BMO has trashed what Bank of the West used to be. The manager is insufferably rude and pushy. Honestly, I need to find a new bank.

My advice to anyone who had an account that originally at BOTW: Take your money to another bank as quickly as possible. First, they opted me in to paper statements - and charged me $5 for each month, meaning if I lived long enough, I would owe them money since the savings account would have been sucked dry. Then, when I tried to close the account, it took them 20 minutes to tell me my daughter needed to be with me. As BOTW, I closed a similar account with my son with no trouble at all. Just multiple awful experiences. A disgrace to banking.

I've been here twice since i moved to California. I am a loyal BOTW customer who had no choice but to transfer to a BMO account. It's the only bank I could find in my area and I still had to travel 8 miles. My first visit I had to take a withdrawal and the lady was very friendly, quick, and made things easy and effortless. 10/10 My second visit, the lady seemed to be trying too hard and all i wanted was to withdrawal, and we stood there for 10 minutes as the line behind me got longer and longer because she was the only teller at the counter and wanted to small talk and then update all of my information. This visit was very unnecessarily long and the people behind me were getting restless. I'd still choose this bank than the others, they are hard to find! Nice customer service, but could hire more tellers so the lines don't get so long.

Updates to my BMO Alto savings account..,,I continue to call them every day. They keep on giving me the same lines.,,,"please be patient. We will get to your case". But they have already locked up my account for 14 days without an answer. I doubt it is a legitimate bank. Don't open any account with BMO.

Dont use BMO banking they take your money on fees they shouldn't be charging for. I give a quarter star if I could or a Zero actually ! ! !

Went in to open an account. Was told I need an appointment. Teller took my name and number for the RM to call me back with appointment confirmation. Never called. Went somewhere else.

I miss when this was botw. Thankfully, some employees stayed on and I think they're great but my first transaction with a new person after the merger and she miscounted my money 3 times! I finally corrected her. How do you work at a bank and have that much trouble counting cash? Was she nice? Yes, totally admit that. Was she competent? Absolutely not. I'm also mot a fan of the one atm that can't seem to work. Ever. Three visits in three weeks and it hasn't work and this was after it was "fixed" or so I was told. Finally, the manager. Not a fan at all. I had two encounters with her and both were unpleasant. My first time meeting her and she was clearly agitated by something else but got snippy with me when her employee asked her a question on my behalf. Her tone was incredibly rude. I've worked customer service for years and would have never behaved the way she did. BMO is awful.

Wow I thought Wells Fargo and Bank of America had bad customer service, welcome to BMO. I wish I wasn't already a Bank of the West customer before BMO took over because it has been a very disappointing transition. Customer service is very poor.

my account was with bank of the west now bmo customer service sucks have to travel 30 miles to the bank so they can verify my ID what bull shit. Just called to find out if they received my payment. Why oh Why I would give it a zero if they had one. Need to pay off this loan ASAP

Bank of the West is now BMO (Bank of Montreal). The tradition of bad, bad customer service continues! It lives on just under different ownership. I went into the branch today to inquire if I would get a new Mastercard. I have a BotW Cashback Mastercard but no bank accounts with them. Credit card is usually a different division of a bank and, because of state and federal laws along with guidelines from the card companies, it's usually more professional. I also was interested in maybe opening a checking account since it's a new bank. My mistake. BMO remodeled the inside and finally replaced the ancient one and only ATM machine. The branch was practically empty. One clueless 20 something year old teller who couldn't even answer the simplest question and a branch manager sitting way in the back helping a couple. I couldn't get a straight answer from the clueless teller when there would be someone available to help me. I was finally told "maybe tomorrow, come back". Whaaaat!?! Seriously, is customer service truly dead??? I have to come back on a "maybe" for the privilege of putting my money in your bank??? GOODBYE!

The branch manager Ms. Sukhman Kaura yelled at me all the time during the conversation. It was a simple question about the past auto loan which customer service sent me but she came off very unprofessional, and disrespectful. I even told her not to yell at me, but she didn't change her attitude.I ended up going to Irvine brunch, and Alex, Sr. Relationship Banker was very helpful and figured out the question that this lady couldn't figure it out and frustrated.Ultimately, branch manager at Tustin gave me the wrong information. Furthermore, she encouraged me to contact my ex-husband to figure out the payment history which was none of her business.I recommend to everyone to drive 3 more miles to the Irvine branch to get better service.
