This store always has great buys without needing a membership card. They’re typically fully stocked and fairly competitive with their pricing. They have some items in bulk but some essentials in non bulk amounts. The other thing I like is their fresh quality produce and that they will call extra cashiers when needed. The cashiers are super friendly as well.

Store managers should not have the power to say not to give jobs to people in other stores because sometimes it is an injustice. I have an acquaintance who had an accident and because of that he could no longer work, so he asked for a job at another store that was close to his house because he was left without a car, and the manager told him that he couldn't give him a job because the person at the other store I don't know if he put it in the wrong, or if he said not to hire him. That is an injustice. It has been applied to almost all the jobs in Merced and nothing, I don't know if that's why.

We came by here on our way to San Jose about 10 minutes before closing. We wanted to buy a bottle and ask if there was bathrooms. I will say the young lady Isabella was super nice and very polite. However there was a first heavier set young woman who was completely rude for no reason. She should take some lessons from Isabella and change her attitude and the way she speaks to customers. Maybe her position should be reconsidered, I can’t see customers wanting to deal with ill mannered cashiers or whatever she was. Someone should address this with her, if I ran this place she warily be advised to leave her bad attitude at the door or stay home with it . . . Yet, I gotta say Isabella completely made up for her rotten behavior . . . Thank you Isabella I hope I get a bonus or some kind of positive incentive for your WONDERFUL work. . . Teach the other girl, she’s already hard to look at, she should really not make it hard to be around her. . . IJS ?? . . . Thank you for your time.

One of the nicest Smart & final stores I've been in. I've been going to Smart & final since I lived in LA in 1990 back when they were only a warehouse store for groceries. The Turlock store is upscale and has some warehouse big box items but good prices on their local 1st Street brands and name brands.
