staff is always quite pleasant, and most recognise their regular patrons. tall cans are half the price here compared to any other location in town. 24/7 gas pumps available, though the market is only open 6am-10pm.

I was dropping off my husband at work. He didn't fill up on his way home yesterday as normal. So the gas light lit up on the way back home. I stopped at Paul's Food Mart to fuel up. Now, It is 5:45am. As I walk up, the store clerk mouthed they are not open yet while shaking her head. They are closed? The sign states 24 hours. I have seen another possible customer show up at 5:54, checked to see if they are open. But since they were not, he drove away. Another customer shows up at 5:59am and since I am sitting in my car and shake my head at them. They drive off too. 2 more still at 6:00 am. Still they have not opened. The first to arrive drives away. The van appears to be pumping gas after using a card at pump. I have only cash. Cash is not allowed at the pumps. She opens at 6:03am. She looks suprised to see me still sitting. Right at 6am the pumps are all full. The Quik Stop next to Paul's has some sort of construction going on and has no pumps for gas. I talked to the clerk once inside. I politely asked, "Are you guys not open 24 hours?" She explained that they used to be, but ever since COVID-19 they have been closing at 10pm and opening at 6am. Aside from the thin sheeting of plastic surrounding the clerk station and modified hours, there doesn't appear to be any other form of combatting the virus. No social distancing tape on the ground, no hand sanitizer at the pumps, no flyers or stickers at the pumps to remind or warn customers about using gloves and wearing masks or social distancing. These are common at other gas stations around town. Since the gas stations next door are not available, they've been very busy with the extra traffic and she agrees that they should open again for 24 hours because of it. Gas stations and convenient stores are considered to be essential businesses. I'm not sure why they would have gone for the loss of hours especially considering this is the only gas station now for a little over a mile for making home in my neighborhood. The other is a chevron and Chevron gas is more expensive. I do not normally leave reviews like this. But what else was I to do while waiting for a 24 hours gas station to open My car was on E. Hope you enjoyed reading this and hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
