Fast and friendly service with all your pet needs. Even walk-ins are welcome, and they come to your car to take your pet for treatment and return it, so you have no worries.

I had to have my cat euthanized and the vet was great, however the staff was not! The staff left me waiting with no contact for 45 minutes and they had no compassion or care of the circumstance.

A vet should NEVER EVER put blame on an owner, that's exactly what Dr. Cassidy did. I have never been a fan of this facility, but unfortunately my grandparents have been for 25+years back when Dr. Santos was in that little white house downtown. When the issue with my late brother's cat came up my grandparents took her in, was prescribed medicine and sent home. The ear got worse, so she went back again, her condition continued to deteriorate. When my grandparents took her in the last time they just said they had to run all these "tests" on her that was going to be over $1,000 then be referred to UC Davis. After speaking with Dr. Cassidy and the unprofessionalism of her putting blame on the owners, I immediately called my vet to get her in for a second opinion. Within two seconds of examining my cat, my vet could tell a mass had formed behind that ea. My vet let me know that the tests they recommended would of been unnecessary because the bigger issue "the mass" is being completely ignored. No documentation at all. How can a vet exam an animal and ignore that? They wanted to put a band aid on a bigger ignored issue, but make sure they got their money first. How did Monte Vista miss this the entire 2 plus months of this cat going in for an ear infection and the mass being completely ignored! Did you even pick up the cat, feel the cat, obviously not. All you did was say we have to run tests. THEY ARE NOT ABOUT THE ANIMALS ITS ABOUT THE MONEY. After that phone conversation, I immediately made sure both my late brothers' animals were transferred to my honest vet who is in it for the animals. AND BEST BELIEVE I WILL BE CONTACTING THE VETERINARY STATE BOARD. And lastly.... the wording on your intro when you call needs to be revised. You may "welcome" walk ins, but they will consider it an emergency and charge you $170.00, no matter what. That it ridiculous. It needs to be stated a walk in without an appointment is considered emergency always. no matter the condition of your pet, they will say it's an emergency.

I've been meaning to write this Yelp review for months now . Back sometime this spring my sweet girl Mia (bully mix) had a infected uterus. Unfortunately this happened Friday night I took her into sage hospital in Redwood City who wanted to charge me 17,000+ to do surgery a life threatening surgery for Mia . I was in so much distress because I do not just have that amount of money laying around . I called multiple places who quoted me anywhere from 10k-18k and that was not guaranteed it could have been more . Thankfully we came across this place because they were able to fit in my sweet girl and give her the life threatening surgery she need for all around 3k on a Saturday. Sally if I'm remembering right was the sweet girl who coordinated Mia's surgery . I feel that this place really does care about there animals . I had to drive 2 hours to get there and I'm just so happy I came across these angels .

Used Monte Vista for a Puppy Plan. MV Vet does a sufficient job, I just prefer a more personal experience. MV Vet is no longer a locally owned vet. They were bought out by a larger company and they don't seem to offer the personal touch that they once did.

Purchased the puppy package which was very reasonable compared to other nearby cities. We took our dog to her first appointment today. Upon arrival we expressed concern regarding micro chipping her, due to her size. The technician stated she would let the clinic know we did not want her chipped this appointment until after we spoke with the doctor. After speaking to the doctor, he stated to not have her chipped until her last appointment. While waiting for check out, the front desk receptionist stated our dog had been microchipped! We were very upset, according to the staff we had told them it was okay to have her chipped. This NEVER OCCURRED! This should be addressed with the staff, as there was clearly a miscommunication!

HORRIBLE VET!! All they care about is money. They REFUSE to give an actual prescription and insist a client only do business with them for any prescribed medicine or animal food. They charge extra fees for EVERYTHING. EXPECT TO PAY HUNDREDS for a simple office visit. They don't care about the health of animals but instead care about squeezing as much money as they can out of pet owners in an emergency situation. They would have let my cat die instead of seeing it get the medicine it needed unless we bought it from them. My husband and I are disgusted at the lack of actual concern for the animals.

We have been bringing our pets to Monte Vista since Memorial Day weekend 2022. We had a little miniature Pomeranian with congestive heart failure, who had been suffering all night. I called ahead to let them know we were bringing in a dog who needed to be euthanized. They were very nice and caring. They have a special room that is setup to be comfortable and private for grieving pet's families. They treated us and little Smokey with kindness and compassion. We have taken our other dogs and cat there since and have always been pleased with the care they received.

A production line of money making - scheduled an ultra sound for a mere $500 which isn't bad but an additional $158 foe the appointment prior and $50 for an unscheduled anal extract we didn't ask for. Then I never got to talk or meet with the vet who did the ultra sound to show me the mass they are stating my do has which could be cancer or deadly. Didn't show me the pictures at all. Then spoke with a nice guy who didn't look at my dog confirm what meds we want. Then a charge of $40 bucks for one flea med pill you could get online for 6 for just twice that amount. Then as I'm ri I g up the nearly $800 bill I'm asking for copies of the ultra sound that the doctor never went over with me which is told to be fatal to my dog. No care for the dog just a money pit with no customer service for the pets - no not take your dog here.

I have had 3 very unpleasant experiences. Yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back. I went to pick up my cat from being neutered... He had been sitting in his cat carrier in his own urine.

Took our dog Luna to the urgent care today when I couldn't find a veterinary in my area Merced/Atwater that would fit her in!!! The clinic was busy but very clean and everyone very helpful!!! My dog did have to be put to sleep but the compassion that was shown from the staff was amazing. Dr. Cassiday was fabulous at letting us know how sick our girl was and made us feel comfortable in the decision we so sadly had to make. Thank you again and may God Bless you all!!

Since the sell out prices seem to have skyrocketed. Staff doesn't appear to stay; every time I am there new people everywhere. Now it is harder than ever to build a rapport with the vets and staff. I now just get the overall feeling of being part of a herd being run thru the chutes; hurry and get done. I could write more but then I feel bad because I use to love this place!
