I absolutely love this store. I live in the Fresno area and when we can get away we go to the Twain Harte Sonora area. They are the best. Going this week. I hope they are open.

I AM NEVER RETURNING TO THIS THRIFT STORE. Today and employee complete contradicted my previous reviews and downright infuriated me. Literally less than an hour ago, I left the store and am committed to updating my review on here AND making a google review. Here's what happened. I let the two little ones (age 6&8) play in the toy area because they hate when I go thrifting. I checked in multiple times to make sure they were behaving. They were. As I rounded the corner to the purse section I heard an employee come out and scold the kids for "tearing apart toys." She said, "you guys can't play in here because you're tearing toys apart." I heard the littlest one reply," I'm sorry, I didn't know." The employees replied that they could play with it, "when they bought it." Horrified, I turned around to the toy section and further scolded the kids. I couldn't believe they were tearing anything by apart! The woman who scolded them returned to the back area and I heard her reassure another employee, multiple times, that "Mom was out there now." I was embarrassed and couldn't believe that my little ones were acting that way. But when the kiddo explained to me what happened it all made sense. The kids were playing with a stuffed referee toy in which had Velcro limps, head, arms, legs...it was the whole point of the toy. Okay, makes sense. They were just using the toy for its intended purpose. None the less, I kicked the kids outta the toys and made them follow me around the store. I decided to say something to the employees about the misunderstanding. However, as I gathered my purchases, I realized that the woman who scolded the kids had just left. So I went to the back area to tell the women working (the one she had reported back to earlier) that the children were not misbehaving and that they were playing with the toy as intended. After I explained what happened, I said, "I scolded these kids and they got in trouble because of this incident but they didn't really do anything wrong. I think an apology would be appropriate." To my complete surprise the woman told me that she wouldn't apologize to the children because, "I would never let my children come into a store and rip a toy apart." To which I replied, "Wow, even if the toy has Velcro limbs that are meant to be pulled apart." And she replied, "yes, even if it was Velcro." I usually shop here every single Tuesday and spend decent money here. I even left a 5 star review for BOTH MLC stores. But now I will never return. For a CHRISTIAN non profit, these employees certainly didn't exemplify Christ-like behavior at all. I thought it would be a beneficial learning experience for the children to hear an adult apologize for their fault. Teach them some humility. But instead, the little one walked around the store pouting because she felt, "like I did something wrong." I made the kids put back the jump ropes that they wanted, plus my purchases too because I was downright BLOWN AWAY by the behavior of these employees. I could tell that 1/3 employees was surprised by the events unfolding too; she didn't really say anything. I am SURE all kinds of misbehaving children come in all the time being destructive, but these two were simply playing with a toy that tore apart. I am sure the employees were just responding to that typical sort of behavior. But the moment that the women realized that they weren't damaging the toy, simply trying it out, she should have said sorry. Plain n simple. I included a picture of the toy so everyone can see for themselves that they WHOLE POINT of the toy is to tear it apart and mix around limbs. Also, mind you, this was all over a $1 toy.

The name “Christian” should be stricken from their name for the absence of Christ in the way they treat their teachers.

Daniel Marsh 6539 Linville Dr Brighton, MI 48116-9531 USA Hi All, I am a person with a positive attitude to overcome life's problems. Is there any Computer Stuff floating around at any of your stores? I work with a program called Computers for Students. As John Wayne would say, Well Christian, please check to see if there is a copy of the Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible, Hardcover, Red Letter Edition: Bringing to Life the Ancient World of Scripture Hardcover by Craig S. Keener & John H. Walton floating around anywhere that I can have to study culture of the Bible. May I have a Action Bible - Sergio Cariello? May I have a set of your Bible Study CDs/DVDs? I volunteer in classrooms. Is there a DVD set of the Holy Land? I need tools: In my younger days I served in the Airforce. I often volunteer to do Neighborhood projects and build things for Neighbors who are Seniors who cannot afford Cabinets, Ramps, furniture or whatever. I often have to use recycled lumber to keep costs down. Today helpping others is my way of serving others. When I am out doing a project to help others people come out of the wood work to help and play with any tools I am using. Then many of them tell others about those tools and brands. Those who played with the tools and told others about them --- go out to purchase them for their own use. Many teens also get involved and use the tools under supervision. They ask their parents to buy them those tools too --- which they do. There has been a lot of deaths in our families --- My Father ( murdered during a home invasion), My Brother (murdered by a drunk driver on Christmas), Wife's' Mother (decrease and age), My Uncle Joe (murdered by a neighbor), Uncle Glenn (Cancer), and many more. I had to retire early from Teaching without a pension due to Cancer. I volunteer in classrooms and teaching Teachers. I am dealing with health problems related to Cancer, Degenerative Bone Disease and related Surgeries, but God has Blessed me with co-workers like you all in the Lord. I am the care giver for senior family members -- Mary(my Mother) and Larry(my Brother). Currently dealing with back pain -- sciatica which is getting better with heat, exercise and long walks. When I can, I help people in my Neighborhood. Thank You for your Time, Efforts, Possitive Thoughts(or Prayers) and Kindness. Daniel Marsh

One of the best thrift shops in Tuolumne county! Prices are great and very courteous staff. The staff will wrap your glass items carefully to ensure no breakage. Hours are 10-5pm Monday through Saturday. No much furniture, but lots of other household items.
