Awful. I left my board overnight to get my edges sharpened, and when I went to retrieve it the next day, they couldn’t find it. An hour later, after multiple employees (and eventually even my boyfriend enlisted to help), someone found it in the demo shop next door (sketchy!) The tag said the work had been done, but I quickly felt the edges, and it seemed like nothing had been done, so at least I didn’t have to pay. I didn’t ride that day because this whole ordeal took so long . But the next day before I went to ride, I inspected the board and realized they had sent it through the edging machine, but messed up and ground the side wall and further dulled my edges. Went back into the shop, no one wanted to help, no offers to help remedy it, and left with a ruined board.

I wish I could split this review in half. I came into this business to buy a pair of skis, I had 3 wonderful sales associates help me. They were very kind and had amazing customer service, very willing to help me. I had been in the store 4 days prior, picked out a pair of skis which had no price, I left my number the sales associate who said she would get back to me once the boot fitter priced the skis. She called me back 2 days later with a price. I went into the store 2 days after that and found my skis I wanted, still not priced but on the sale rack. I brought them to the front and they needed to check the price again. That is when this review goes to 1 star, the boot fitter there informed me those skis were not suppose to be for sale and was extremely rude to me. He then priced them 200$ over the price I was told on the phone prior. As a bit fitter I feel as though I at least deserved a reasoning for why the ski was priced the way it was, but I was offered no help nor any information. He didn't even inspect the skis to double check the condition. When I tried explaining what I had been told on the phone he immediately walked away from me mid conversation and told me I was wrong. I tried to talk to him again explaining that these were the skis, the ones I had seen earlier and even had a photo of. He proceeded to tell me I was wrong and I was talking about another ski. I feel that I was disrespected so wrongly, and was being treated as though I was an idiot. I knew which skis I wanted and had previously seen. I even offered to go back to the rack to look if there were similar ones that I could be mistaking them with. He came with me and told me I must have been talking about these other pairs of skis (which were a completely wrong length for me, and totally different color than my photo and description). Making someone feel like they are stupid and incompetent is the worst customer service I could imagine. On top of that I made a personal phone call In the store that probably lasted 1 minute and he took the skis and hid them in the back. I asked the sales associates where they went and no one knew, and finally he gave in to getting them from the back because he "didn't think I was buying them" i never even left the store!!! He also told me that he would no longer sell me the newer pair of skis he had told me I could buy about 2 minutes earlier and gave me no reason. I could sense he was just irritated with me and would not reason with me. For some reason I decided to give this man my business and purchase 2 pairs or skis, I asked him if they did a pro discount there as I am a ski instructor, which he immediately interrupted and threatened my termination. I don't even instruct at northstar and don't know how asking a simple question could lead to a termination. I simply was curious if their store offered one or not, it never hurts to ask (in most cases, I guess not his) If this was a mistake and the skis were not for sale, whatever happened it was not my fault and I don't believe that I deserved to be treated in that way for something I did not do. I felt as though he had automatically assumed I was not knowledgeable on ski gear because I am a young woman, and he was able to just ignore me. I am happy with the skis I purchased, but extremely disappointed in the way someone would treat another person who is just trying to provide them with business. I'm just confused how I could have inquired about these skis twice previously and for them to be in the same sales rack as I had first found them, and for there to just still be this confusion. This man didn't even bother to go and ask anyone else if they had heard of this situation or ask another boot fitter if they knew anything about the price given. There was just no effort from him or help in trying to make this purchase. I'm so shocked in how disrespectfully I was treated. Overall sales team amazing!!! Thank you for your help and patience with this whole fiasco. And I do understand that it was a maybe a strange situation

Would not make another purchase here. Did a “full tuning” here and board come out like this. The lady work here was nice enough offered to redo with a better wax, but the guy here just gave a lot attitude when calling me and told me the board is ready to go, and cut me off while I was asking questions on the phone. And while picking up I was told by the same guy that this is for sure an iron wax :-)

My kid's skis went missing, and we went into True North at 9am on Sunday of a holiday weekend to beg them for new skis. Even though they were slammed, they hooked us up, got bindings mounted and everything. The skis were actually very difficult to mount (skis fault not staff), and one binding slipped during the process by half a centimeter. They told us about the issue even though they didn't need to and offered to fix them if my daughter could tell the difference. We took the skis out, and my daughter could in fact feel the difference so we brought them back. They gave us an entirely new set of skis for no additional charge.

Bought kids pole from them based on their recommendation which turned out to be too short. They would not take them back and tried to tell me that the poles were good for people up to 6’5”! They told me I should have done better research before buying them! Worst customer service ever!

Jordan was super patient with me and helped me fix my boots that I had bought a different store back in OH. He listened to my problem and explained why he was going to fix them the way he was going to. Definitely recommend Jordan/true north for anyone with ski boot problems

We were told that there would be lockers at the top but when we got there, the lockers were out of order. We checked in with Brandon, one of the clerks, and he offered to watch our bags while he was working the desk. A+++ customer service from Bradon Mockett!

Walking away empty handed. I called ahead to see if we needed an appt and they said no problem we could come in (although there was not a boot fitter in). When we arrived the ski guy said he was going on break so it would be at least 45 mins. I mentioned that we were told to come on in and he just shrugged and said, "Sorry". I understand that they may be short staffed but would hope a retailer in a resort like North Star would be more accommodating. Bummed.
