“I hired Owens Brothers Transfer for my move from Reno, NV to Vancouver, WA on 2/24. Chris Chambers was my main point of contact for the booking. He provided a very reasonable quote and was very upfront about expectations.We had hit some unexpected snow the day of the move where any other moving company would have likely (and understandably) rescheduled, but Chris and his colleague Buck showed up nonetheless and managed to get everything in my 1b/1ba apt loaded in under 2 hours.Chris and Buck delivered my furniture to my new apartment in Vancouver, WA 2 days later (2/26) and managed to get everything unloaded in just over an hour.Overall, the move went smoothly despite the unexpected bad weather. I could not thank Chris and Buck enough for braving the snow and getting my furniture delivered on time. The actual price ended up being less than what Chris originally quoted which I was pleasantly surprised about.If anyone is considering a move to/from the Reno area, I would strongly recommend hiring Owens Brothers Transfer.”

“I've used 3 other storage outfits in the area (Airport S.S., one in Reno and another in Grass Valley). As best my memory serves, A***** (the perfect acronym) raised rates quite a few times over a 2 year period, as did the outfit in Grass Valley. I believe both are owned by the same (umbrella) company. They purported that "due to increasing expenses" they had to raise rates. There aren't many industries that maintain a more static and fixed expense(s) sheet than a storage unit, so it was CLEARLY a 'cash grab' as demand was soaring and supply dwindling.XMS has kept the rates steady (I've been there for just over a 15 months) and are always willing to accommodate me to maintain access after hours if I'm turning over my unit for the season (summer storage to winter storage). That sort of trust and accommodation is something you will NEVER receive from the corporate outfits that run the vast majority of self storage centers.In the 16 years of maintaining a storage unit somewhere between Grass Valley and Reno, XMS has provided the best experience for me. I've left 3 other situations that were simply untenable, penal, and wildly frustrating.”
