I came in to look for a stick (I get stickers from every place I visit) and I ended up leaving with mugs, stickers and beenies :)The staff was also nice enough to box the mugs so they wouldn't get broken with my traveling.

I'm not a person who buys shirts, or gear in general, from locations I visit. You won't often catch me in a t-shirt representing some tourist stop. I am however grateful a store like this exists because I shop for people like that quite often. My wife and I were married here 4 years ago in January. For Christmas this year I picked up a bunch of little souvenirs to create a cute reminder gift for my wife. Postcards, stickers, and a pint glass. I also purchased a lens cleaning towel with a Northstar map on it. Seems stupid but I have wound up using on occasion when my favorite runs are closed and I need an alternative. Also, a year ago I purchased a retractable ID badge leash made with a metal cable to hold the ID. It has served me well - I use it everyday for my access badge to my office building. I went and purchased one as a Christmas gift this year. I can't speak to the quality of the apparel but the amount of souvenir options is perfect. The price point is great too. Nothing too elevated. Also, with a wife who is a scrapbooker you can never seek out too many patches, stickers, postcards, etc.

I like Northstar quite a bit. A lot of things have changed over the years and it went from a small friendly place to a huge resort in a matter of seasons. I guess it's no wonder that they'd have a store that sold a bunch of clothing and knick knacks with their own logo on it. Know who has a great business model in SF? They guy selling I love SF sweatshirts to folks underdressed trying to walk across the Golden Gate. Guess what? You could derive a similar scenario here. I few cool items here and there but I'd leave the gear to the tourists.
