No ac. But the exhibits are neat and in depth. Not good on a hot summer day though.

Great place to see AF history and cool planes. The WASP section needs a bit more content. Dusting and cleaning are needed. Great place to bring kids. The lighting is harsh inside (florescent) which makes photography difficult.

In Travis AFB. No public access.Museum is set up by veteran volunteers. All were friendly and informative! Their exhibits have great information.I would give it a 5 star if there was A/C and have more updated plaques, but with how it is a free museum -- it's worth it to visit!

My kids (12 and 11) were at Travis waiting for a Space A flight when we decided to check out the museum. First off, it’s free. Secondly, I’ll admit I was not expecting much since it was mostly static displays and we’re not that interested in planes, but… we were shocked by how much fun we had there. The volunteer staff really made it a memorable experience between the tricky scavenger hunt (even my sarcastic 12 year old said the hunt was hard!) that included a prize and riding the Mercury capsule. Expected to be there for 30 minutes or less, ended up spending an 1.5 hours. Definitely visit if on base!

This museum is the hidden gem of Travis Air Force Base. There is a solid collection of artifacts ranging from canned rations from WW2 to a B-29 Aircraft! The museum has immaculate lighting, accessibility, and space distribution. The preservation of cultural heritage is on full display here!

Really enjoyed this museum. There was a lot of history about the base, various military items used in air crafts ranging from pilot kits to engines and weapons. They have information about world war 2 all the way up to current operations. We didn't even watch all of the videos and it took over an hour but might be more interesting for older kids and adults then kids.

Worse Than Dissapointed!!After consulting their website and doing exactly what was requested of me to obtain clearance to visit the museum, not once but twice and not getting a response back both times, I decided to call 3 weeks before my trip down to California and was advised that it would be no problem so long as I provided proper ID such as a passport.Guess what?? Show up today and was denied access and to phone another number and possibly wait a few weeks for clearance. Here's some advice that you probably won't take, but maybe you all should be a bit more consistent as to the information that you're giving people, especially since it was supposed to be a highlight of my trip down here..

This just happens to be the home to the men & women that served the afb military and flew planes that are no longer in service. Thank you to all that have served and fought our for our great country.

Very nice! It was perfect for two tween boys who are really interested in this stuff. No charge but they accept donations and there is a gift shop. Consider bringing food for a picnic. Be prepared to have your background checked at the visitor entrance and ride to the museum with a docent. Call ahead to make sure they are open, they rely on a small number of very good volunteers.

Utterly False information on the website and we wasted 8 hours getting there and back. Don’t bother going you won’t get let in with an Australian passport and drivers licence!!! Absolutely disgusted at the lack of help or knowledge by the visitor check in and we was told it will take 3 weeks to get approval, as tourist we didn’t have a holiday for that long. Therefore for a so called friend of the USA as a foreigner….all I say is I will spread this corrected truth and no longer be a supporter to the USAF. Don’t visit Tasmania. As a highly experienced pilot we just wanted to seek the freaking museum. What a joke, stick your air museum where it fits USAF!!!

This is one of the best Aircraft Museums around! There are a bunch of historical static displays and a bunch of interactive exhibits inside. We'll worth the trip!
