Years ago, gas on military bases used to be the cheapest place to buy gas. Now its not. For instance the past several weeks gas at Sam's Club and Costco has been 30 cents cheaper per gallon. Over the past decade I have watched the benefits of shipping on base determinate to the point that it's now cheaper for most things off base.

Of course this place is five-star quality. The main reason is they are open longer than just about 80% all other Air Force bases. They don't close till late and they open up early as well. Also stuff in stock that you need and the gas pumps work with no issues as well. That's why I like this please.

I really like going here because it's close to work. I can get gas outside after a shift. I also can pick up plenty of snacks and drinks inside. You can price match which is nice because you can find things online or in other stores for a bit cheaper in comparison. They always have new items.

Perfect service! My only recommendation is that they have a dedicated line area instead of having the line go through the aisle. Other than that it's amazing!

Solidly good AAFES Express station. Lots of gas pumps (and even more across the street at the auto shop!) and a decent traffic flow pattern, if a bit cramped. The Express shop itself is great (There's a Popeye's attached, by the way.) There's the usual selection of coffee and prepared foods, and shelves of snacks, and a wall of chilled drinks, a decent-size liquor selection. It's about twice the size of a normal gas station shop in civilian world. Bathrooms: None that I could see, but maybe the Popeye's next door has some?

Called to see if they had Cajun Peanuts prepared. They didn't and offered to start a batch. It's all I ever needed in life.

The management of this Express facility is beyond incompetent. Their equipment is constantly broken. They know the air pump is broken, but didn't bother to mark it. Three air pumps, and none work? It's been two years and they can't keep them working? Another woman went in to ask how to use the air machine, and they knew it was broken. Did they check to see if there was a sign on it? After 30 minutes, the answer was no. I warned 6 others not to use it. I went in to talk to the manager myself. The staff and manager had the arrogance to act surprised there wasn't a sign. I guess customers coming in thinking it's working was too subtle a clue. Of course, they'd blame the wind. But someone who knew there was a wind issue and have a damn would check to make sure it's still there when they came in to work. I have overheard conversations where AAFES management disrespect the military, both active duty and veterans. I have personally been disrespected by managers both as active duty and as a veteran. The US Military deserves better than AAFES. AAFES management at all levels don't give a crap about the military. We are just victims to them. If they cared about their customers they wouldn't cover for incompetence and distain for their customers.

If you have a military ID, or a military dependent ID, head on base to fill up. Take advantage of the tax-free groceries in the mini-mart.

It's the cheapest gas you can get on base.
