We were recommended by a friend to restring my sons tennis racquet. We also bought new grips. He did the restring really fast and offered to put the new grips for free. He's a very nice fella. We will come back definitely.

If you are bringing in a racket for strings and are sensitive to tension, I believe that the shop either has a machine that needs to be recalibrated, or the strings are being tensioned on every other string. Strings come back very loose. Leaving the rating as current average shows, but including a review about stringing as I did not see one previously posted prior to having strings done. Seems like a great place, so please note that I am only providing my opinion on the stringing quality.

I walked in the shop and was quickly approached if I needed help. I told the man what I needed and he showed me a racquet for $160, told me I can take it for $90. Regripped it for free, gave me a cover, and even a can of balls. I never write yelp reviews but I had such a great experience, this review was definitely deserved. If you need any tennis gear, don't hesitate for one second besides coming to this shop. This guy is the man. Thanks again.

Because tennis is so popular in Korea, it was difficult to find rackets, shoes, and the model you wanted.
This place was heaven to me :)
I didn't know if I would be able to play tennis during my trip, so I left my equipment in Korea and came to Lomita.
However, I bought a racket and sneakers at a good price here. Totally satisfied?????
I was so satisfied that I visited twice and even purchased a racket and sneakers for my boyfriend! I give it 5 stars!!

I was in Torrance running some errands after playing tennis. The racquet I brought a few months ago had a neon yellow grip that I knew I would eventually need to replace because it would get dirty. I did a Yelp search for a tennis shop and Pete Martin's Tennis Shop came up a 1/2 mile away. I went inside and this nice young man greeted me. I told him what I needed and he told me my options. I wanted something dark, so I opted for black. He immediately took off my old grip and put the new one on in 5 minutes. I have another racquet that I changed the grip on and it took me so long to do it. So I knew the next time I needed a new grip, I would go to a professional. This young man was a PROFESSIONAL! I will definitely be back to Pete Martin's Tennis Shop the next time I need anything tennis related!

We’ve found our local tennis shop!!Found this place based on reviews! Wanted to pick up the sport after 10 years and Pete was super patient as he answered my multiple questions. He definitely knows his stuff. Never once did he try to up-sell. He made sure the racket I ended up going with was the perfect fit. Really nice guy and business, right here in the South Bay! We’ve found our tennis shop! Always prefer supporting our local businesses over big corporations. Thank you, Pete!!

Outdated reviews... store is basic, shoes are all over on shelves. Customer just go and dig what model, what size and somewhere lost among all boxes. Owner moody or not very welcoming.

I have been researching for my next tennis racquet and decided on one while at Dick's Sporting Goods; however, it was impossible to find a sale associate to help me, and they couldn't tell me whether stringing the racquet is included, whether they do it in house, or when I can receive it (even though it's advertised on their website). I came to Pete Martin's as I have driven by their store on PCH countless times and was immediately greeted by a young man named Joe. He helped me with all the racquet selections and gave me advice and recommendations, and listed the differences for the strings and their pricing, and offered to string up my new racquet within an hour! He was awesome! The store is small and a bit cramped but they have a ton of racquet selections (and pickleball), accessories, and way more tennis clothing and shoes than Dick's. The prices were very fair and I highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back! Thanks for an awesome experience.
