Best Middle Eastern waxers in the South Bay.Love the way they wax/ contour my eyebrows. Also, the staff is great with piercing babies ears. Both my daughters ears were pierced at this location.

I went in to have my ears pierced. They were pierced but many, many years ago and I haven't worn earrings in years so they were half closed. I didn't want a blood bath at home so I went to Merle Norman's and Mina helped me get my pierced ears back. Great experience.

I've been going to Merle Norman since I was 20 years old (I'm 34 now). I always come back for full facial waxing by Mina. She is by far the best I have ever experienced. I have done Ulta benefit brow, Macy*s benefit brow, Sephora full facial waxing, and threading at a small shop in Inglewood. However, this Merle Norman location is special! Mina is my favorite. She will take her time and make sure everything is perfect. I came in today after being up all night baking for work so I needed a pick-me-up. I am always happy with Mina. Please support them so they can be around for another 90 years (Merle Norman is celebrating 90 years this year).

My best friend told me about Merle Norman and now I'm a fan for life! Everyone at the Torrance location was so helpful and welcoming. They spent so much time getting to know my skin and helping me build a new routine. Thank you so much Mina, Melinda and Selena. You gals are the best!

BUYER BEWARE. On two occasions this cosmetics store double-charged my credit card without my authorization— I was charged around $600 instead of $300. When I went back to address it, I was treated in a mean-spirited manner by Mina. It was a headache to get the transactions reversed with credit card company… and then she double charged me AGAIN for the second time on another day. The second issue I encountered was the limited inventory. Both locations (Torrance and Westminister) are sold out on many of the colors. They have lip liners with no lipstick to match — or lipsticks without the matching lip liner. They discontinued the lipglosses. As a result, I had to drive to the other store to see if they had items that the first store didn’t have to swap items and match up colors because the selection was so limited at both locations. Although the receipt says that they welcome refunds within 30 days — when I tried to exchange an unused product that was still in the box for the identical product in another color- I got a hostile response. Mina made a nasty comment implying that I’m taking advantage of the return policy by returning “everything.” If I returned “everything,” I wouldn’t still have 20-30 items in my bathroom. SEE PHOTOS BELOW WHICH SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. I bought so many items that they wouldn’t all fit in one photo. The manager at the Westminister store said she heard many complaints about Mina being repeatedly rude to customers at the Torrance store. I realize that it does not require a masters from the Harvard Business School to work at the store—but still—treating customers with courtesy and decency should be common sense. It’s the only way to do business. If you shop at Merle Norman in Torrance proceed with caution— avoid Mina—and pay cash. If you use your credit card, be sure to check for multiple charges on your credit card statement that you didn’t authorize. Right down the street there are several department stores that carry all of the top lines in Chanel, YSL, La Mer, Cle De Peau— and even if the clerks are hungry, having hot flashes, or having a really bad day – they are still ten times nicer than the women at the Torrance Merle Norman store. I will not go back there. Reputable businesses don’t double-charge and add $300 to each transaction and then treat the customer like it’s their fault. Completely substandard service.

I left a review for this place and my experience with Mina. I am a real customer. When I checked my account a week or two later, there was a rude and snarky comment in my inbox, my review was gone, and I saw that there were a ton of fake reviews for Mina. I'm going to escalate this to Merle Norman Corporate now but just know that this location is the WORST and uses fake reviews to back rude and mean employees who are awful to long-time customers. If you read their bad reviews, you'll see that they are either completely nasty to the complaining customer, ignore them entirely, or bend over backwards apologizing, wanting to make it right, which is how customer service should always be for long time and loyal customers and since they are looking customers up, they should easily be able to see that I am one. This is the type of wishy-washy and inconsistent experience you can expect with this place.

I walked in with a list of items I saw online. As I was standing in the doorway, I could hear a saleswoman named Mina (an older lady who speaks with a foreign accent) being very mean and nasty to another customer. I cannot imagine any salesperson getting away with treating customers like this (in front of other customers!) and keeping their job. That totally turned me off to the store. It was unacceptable behavior.

Merle Norman Torrance has been one of the most caring, detailed oriented small business. There number 1 focus is INTEGRITY! I have been around the Merle Norman family since I was very very young and I can PROMISE you will receive nothing but patience, love, and care when you walk your first steps into the store. Unfortunately some of the recent reviews are FALSE and CONDESCENDING. and with that, Merle Norman will take care of all of your beauty needs and truly make you feel like family. This is FAMILY RAN, small business and they are more than appreciative ESPECIALLY during this time with COVID-19. Especially Melinda Fox, owner and operator for over 30 years has never refused service to not 1 Client, so that tells you about any recent reviews and circumstances. She is so PATIENT, and you genuinely feel they are looking out for your BEST beauty interests and needs. ALSO, Selina and Mina are such Super-Stars being with Merle Norman for over 25 years and having worked in Del-Amo Mall previously this tells you the loyalty to the products and loyalty to clientele. Personally thank you for your integrity, loyalty, and genuine kindness to all clients. MERLE GIRL FOREVER

I couldnt be more happy with their services. Thank you Selina for always knowing how to guide me in skincare and Makeup. Any questions I have she has them! Selina has been helping me for years! Her makeup skill are 100% satisfactory. The whole staff in general is very professional! I couldn't have made an amazing bond with everyone. Love you all!

The older lady with an accent (Mina) was really unprofessional and nasty to a customer as I was standing inside waiting to be helped. I heard Mina literally berate and humiliate another customer (very loudly) because she was trying to exchange an unused item. Really? Since when is it okay to verbally abuse people? The other Merle Norman store I frequent in Seal Beach on PCH would NEVER treat a customer this way. It was appalling conduct. I made an excuse for why I would come back and walked out.

Oh Em Gee! Walked into Merle Norman for the first time today and was greeted by the wonderful Mina! I didn't know much about the products but was referred by my friend, and I was not disappointed. Mina was super patient and knew so much about the products, she made me feel really comfortable and at ease. I definitely found a new place to go to for all my make up needs!
