I have not visited this location in person, but spoke to a customer service representative. She was friendly and very professional. I gave 4 stars because unlike the previous reviewer from 2022, IACE does NOT sell JR pass exchange vouchers in person at their Torrance office. They require you to purchase online from their IACE.com website and then you have to have the pass shipped to your home address and pay for that shipping. If you are in a time crunch in leave for Japan in a few days, you should just purchase the tickets in Japan or through the official JR pass website. FYI the fees are a bit higher if you purchase the passes in Japan or through the JR website.

I literally got my JR pass voucher same day, leaving for japan the next day. Just made a phone call and they're able to arrange it and picked it up at their office. Fast transaction.

Because of the complications of our trip, which is a must-trip, during the pandemic, I decided to book our flights by calling a live human. IACE was recommended by my colleague, so I called the Los Angeles Branch. I reached Ms. Takeda -- oh my God I was super lucky -- she is the kindest and sharpest travel agent!!! I will definitely call IACE and ask for Ms. Takeda for our next trip!

Whenever I go visit my family in Japan, I always buy my airline tickets from IACE. As I elaborate below, their prices are very competitive and their service is unparalleled. Fare prices: As it's expensive, I always do my homework: I check airfares online and call a couple of Japanese travel agencies in the US. Since 2008, I have only bought tickets from IACE when I travel to Japan. Japanese travel agencies tend to have better deals than airlines or other online venders, at least slightly. They also give you different rates for children, which I never get online (e.g., airlines webpages or other third party sites, like Kayak). I've always saved money buying tickets from them. Service: The agents are knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. As they are knowledgable, they can search for the best deals. Something unique about IACE is that they have a call center, which is open 24/7. Almost a decade ago, my son was hospitalized in Japan, and I had to change our tickets coming back to the US multiple times. As their call center is always open, I was able to call them without worrying about the time difference. Customer Care: When the big earthquake hit northern part of Japan in March 2011, we had planed a trip to Japan in the same month. As we were not sure if it's safe, we decided to postpone the trip (indefinitely). Under the special circumstances, we requested Delta Airlines to refund our money. They refused despite our multiple requests. IACE contacted the airline on our behalf, but they didn't budge. In the end, IACE Travel gave us back $100 per ticket out of their pocket. Although it was a fraction of what I had paid for the tickets, their gesture was priceless. Ever since, I'm a loyal customer of IACE! Recommendation: Their prices are very competitive. They also go above and beyond to help their customers. If you're planning on a trip to Japan, I strongly recommend you to give them a call. They'd be very happy to help you. They never pressure you to buy anything until you're ready. Unqualified 5 stars! ****************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit "useful" so that I can improve my reviews. Went to Iace Travel to buy Japan JR Passes. The girl in the front was nice and helpful. I was able to get in and out with the purchase in less than 15 minutes. She was helpful with any questions I had and their prices were actually a few dollars less than other places. They have a parking lot and are on the first floor of the office building.

Got my JR Pass here. To be honest I do not know all their services that they provide but this is purely for JR Pass. My friend recommended me to get my JR Pass here at IACE which is located across the street from Del Amo mall. It's on the first floor closest to Torrance Blvd. When I walked in, all the employees look at you and they're all japanese. They greeted me in Japanese of course. I just asked to buy JR Pass and the lady at the counter welcomed me to sit on the chair in front of her. I just told her I wanted the 7 day regular pass and she asked me if I have used JR Pass before and I said yeah so she didn't have to explain it to me. All they require is that you give the employee your name on the passport so you can exchange it for JR Pass. It took around 15 minutes for her to input everything on computer and have me sign stuff. I got free 4pack calpico mini which was a nice gesture. I paid $252 for 7 day regular JR Pass which is slightly cheaper than most other places. I would recommend you buy it here. They are professional and you get what you want for a good price.

We purchased our Japan Rail Passes here. We just walked in and they processed our order and paid with credit card and they gave us our exchange vouchers on the spot. I researched some companies that sold the JR passes online and most of them required expensive shipping fees so I was really happy we were able to come to their office since it is close by.

Fast, friendly, professional. Travel agents speak English and Japanese well. Purchased my JR Pass through IACE for two different trips. Will use again.

This place is a joke. iACE is the epitome of incompetence and red tape bureaucracy. Once they have your money they care nothing about your trip or experience. iACE is supposed to operate in the service sector, and yet they provide no real service that is of any intrinsic worth or value. We missed our flight to Tokyo (despite being in the gate on time, Delta had not notified us the flight was leaving early) and no one at iACE was willing to help us get us get new tickets. They kept telling us Delta was the only party that could help us get new tickets, despite that not being the case at all. Once they realized that we were right, they then told us there would be a $450 change fee per ticket, and refused to help us get that fee waived. We asked to speak to a manager/supervisor at iACE and the lady on the phone denied our request, saying she would pass our message along herself, without even giving us her manager/supervisor's name -- because I guess simply giving us a name is against protocol. What kind of racket are they running here? How can we the customer home anyone accountable, or make any real progress solving anything if we don't even know who we're speaking to? With the help of people at Delta, we were able to get the mess sorted out, get new tickets, and only had to pay a $50 fee. Thanks for nothing iACE, hope you guys are our business soon.

I purchased my JR Pass through these guys. They've been relatively quick to respond to any questions I had and also gave me some recommendations for tours I may want to check out. I've had no complaints thus far, but I also booked a lot of my trip myself.
