I had a disappointing experience at this Hertz Torrance Hawthorne location & would advise potential renters to avoid this location. The customer service was notably poor, with frequent unavailability of cars and a disregard for Gold member benefits & privileges.
To make matters worse, the staff/Manager was rude & accusatory, questioning why I was trying to run their business. The agent unexpectedly required my Canadian passport, which was unusual. Canadian renters should be prepared to show their Canadian passports & even provide details of their home insurance, despite most credit cards covering collision damage waivers. I ultimately had to go to the LAX airport location, which was more expensive, or consider the Hertz location in Redondo Beach as an alternative. This experience was in stark contrast to the positive treatment I've received from Hertz as a Gold+ member in the past. While this incident was disappointing, I hope it doesn't overshadow the generally positive service I’ve experienced with Hertz over the years. This horrible experience is specific to the Torrance Hawthorne HLE location only.

The customer service here was wonderful. Super kind service, quick rental paperwork and MUCH easier than LAX for my local hire. Highly recommend.

Don’t not recommend. Very unorganized, did not have reserved cars for multiple people who showed up. Unhelpful, rude employee.

Reserved car for Saturday, showed up at 1015 am, they no longer had my car reserved. Stuck without car for weekend.

? my representative miss Bonnie and Mr. Jamal at your Torrance Location and the team representatives are all to the highest caliber very intelligent found solutions made adjustments very friendly very patient willing to hear you out completely it is truly One of the Best representatives I have had the pleasure of speaking with. there are many agents they are all a wonderful team I just need to mention that because it is a great team! But I would like to see miss Bonnie and all my representative from my visit conversation and in person to be recognized. I would like somebody to personally thank the team for me one more time because I am not in that building or the work place to do it myself. so I ask you please give them many thanks and of course, the managers and supervisors also need to be recognized. thank you for all of your efforts and exceptional service and quality to the highest level.Mr.B Faragallah Loyal customer

Tried calling on 2/17 for a rental car, spent 5 mins going through the directory and waiting for someone to pick up. The line just kept ringing. Never heard of a location that doesn't answer the phones?

Wrong contract of vehicle sent and printed, no late drop off possible (office closed by 1700) . Late opening next day after 0915, unfriendly service without excuse for late opening. Foreigners careful, bring your passport!

Reserve a car. Appeared on time. Said they had my resvation but no cars. Wanted to send me to a different site on foot, to rent at a much higher price. Irresponsible and unreliable company.

The car was dirty and needed to be serviced but they didn't have any other comparable options available. Worth noting upon pick there were 2 people asking for refunds due to issues and were fighting with the same girl we had issues with. The hertz employees are extremely unprofessional. The girl working behind the counter went out of her way to make our experience horrible. When dropping off the car this hertz employee mocked us trying to charge us for damages done prior to our rental. I had pictures to prove they were wrong. The manager agreed there were zero damages to the car but they did charge us a cleaning fee of $400 when the car wasn't that messy for 2 weeks of use. I have picture proof that corporate looked over and corporate immediately refunded the cleaning charges. The manager needs needs training from corporate on how to handle these situations. I would never rent from hertz again.

Cancelled my car rental last minute as they ran out of cars. I asked if they could assist with finding a solutions with nearby Hertz or sister companies they may have but they practically said not their problem. They suggested I try LAX which is completely out of the way. Horrible service.

If you’d like to be overcharged by 40% please feel free to go to this location. Also this is the same location as Avis. It sucks to be a very loyal client to a company and in return they steal from you. I rented a vehicle over five times over the past year and then looked back at my old receipts and they stole alot of money from me. They will lie. Make sure you look at the receipt before leaving facility.
