I was able to get an appointment within an hour which was great for my Yorkie and such a relief to me. She was seen and thoroughly checked for her vomiting issue. The dr. provided her with everything she needed and did everything she could to help my doggie. When we left I felt confident that my doggie was going to be ok (and she was). So happy Bay Cities was there!

DO NOT GO HERE! My dog was on the verge of dying (had a heartache/seizure) and was not eating & moving slow. We offered to wait all day (we were one of the first there in the morning) to have a vet see him and they denied us! Told us to come another day. Didn't have any care in the world. STAY AWAY!

My family and I have been going to this location for 37 years. I always recommended this vet to all my friends. The last few years this place has become horrible to go to. I stopped going to them. That should tell you something, here a loyal customer of 37 years stops going. I’m not alone from reading other reviews, something is wrong with your business. They will not even let you go into the exam room with your pet. They called me from the lobby and I can hear the vet through the door talking to me, pretty sad. As a business owner myself, I take all of these reviews to heart. Bay Cities you are losing loyal customers of years to bad business and poor customer services.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. DO NOT GO HERE if you want a solid veterinary experience for you and your pet. Ever since ownership changed, this place has become unbearable. You have to wait months for an appointment, the vet takes endless days off and is rarely available even for a quick phone call. They have you take a ton of expensive tests and then don’t call you with the results. Bay Cities is operating on neglect of long-time clients whose pets are our family members. This place a scam.

My cat is dying, I called to make an emergency appt this morning and of course they said the vet is out of office today (it's a Monday) and they won't be able to see her for a few weeks. I called another vet in PV, they took her in within 1 hour and turns out she has liver failure and we have to put her down tomorrow. Bay Cities is operating on malpractice and neglect of long-time clients whose pets are our family members. This place a scam.

I love this place. I've been taking my dog little man since 2008. Can't say enough, how much this place has been so amazing for my dogs.

Please DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!!! - This has been my home veterinarian for decades. No more. I have heard the business was sold and under new management. Dr. Rios will literally talk to you on the telephone. That's all you get. She will not see anyone in person. I recently had to make a heartbreaking appointment to have our beautiful 16 year old Pomeranian euthanized. The staff could not be more cold and non-caring'. They literally don't give a crap! I called the previous day to request their earliest appointment the next morning. I was told by some snotty receptionist my appointment is not a priority because your dog is basically going to die anyway. Ok, so they set the appointment for 5:15 PM. Upon arrival we are told they have no record of our appointment. We were told sorry, you will have to come back another time. After informing the appointment was for euthanasia, the receptionist spoke to a more experienced employee. They finally decided to honor the appointment. After completing paperwork, my telephone rings and the snotty receptionist tells me to answer it. It is Dr. Rios. She proceeds to tell me that euthanasia is permanent and can't be reversed. Wow, I never knew that. She briefly described what would happen. I expected for her to examine the dog and maybe express her condolences as she has seen our dog for 16 years. WRONG! The room door opens and we are asked to enter a treatment room where the door won't close properly. A receptionist finally comes in and administers the two shots. I was told Dr.Rios is busy with other appointments. What a lack of empathy and compassion. This place just wants your money now ! Please do not go here!

This was our family vet for decades. The business was sold and now it's terrible. They don't take emergency appointments even if they've seen your dog for 10 years. Dr Rios doesn't speak to anyone in person. A nail trim for my new dog was $34. I recommend that you go somewhere else. I am.

Bay Cities Pet Hospital. Have you noticed that their parking lot went from people parking everywhere to know half of their lot is empty? This is maybe why. I took my 2 small dogs today to get checked and get flee meds. I have gone there for over 15 years. They have always charged $25 for each pill, and the dr needs to check once a year, but that was at no charge as long as you get the meds. I was shocked when they told me that they now charge $90 per dog for the office visit. We're retired now and $180 can go far if spent right. They of course told me this after they checked our dogs and had 6 pills on the counter. I should have know something was up when I saw the parking lot and an all new staff. Torrance, Hawthorne Blvd and maybe Spencer.

I’ve been taking my now 16 yr old dog here for years. Previously under the ownership and direction of Dr. Sullivan, it was one of the few ethical private veterinarian practices around. However all things must come to an end eventually and the practice was sold. Slowly all the wonderful veterinarian staff defected and moved on. This has truly been heartbreaking. It’s no longer the wonderful place it was. The staff are trying their best to keep things afloat but I’m not sure it’s going to prevail. I feel helpless with my old dog who has a very large file there but no real great care options elsewhere.

Do not recommend taking your pet to see the vet here. The vet doesn't talk to you in person but rather calls you on the phone asking what your concerns are while you are seated in the waiting room for everyone else to hear. And even after she's done examining my pet she phones again while we are seated in the waiting room to discuss reasons of why my dog is at the end of her life. Not professional or compassionate. In the past the vet spoke with us in person but not this day.
