I, too, won an auction and I'm very satisfied by the expertise and kindness of ArtPack's team, especially Mr Rubie. The item was very well packed, and arrived right in time for Christmas, which would not have been possible without M Rubie's help.Prices are not cheap but they are worth it : ArtPack provides a premium service, and this has a cost. They don't just send a package, they store the items, create tailor-made packaging... that calls for special skills. Thanks again ArtPack.

I recently used Art Pack for a lot I won from Julien’s Auction in CA. This was a high value item and the staff at Art Pack overall did an exceptional job. They were very thorough with every detail needed to ensure a damage free delivery. I am very grateful, as well as relieved, that Art Pack was meticulous with the many details required for shipment. From the making of a double box for added protection, materials used, and carefully wrapping the item minimized any chance of damage while in transit. Also, the exterior of the package was very well labeled with ample stickers such as Fragile, Do Not Stack, Do Not Drop, Glass Inside. My prized lot arrived in perfect condition. In my estimation, Art Pack meets the highest standard when it comes to know-how, and requirements for packing and shipping objects of value.

Owner is rude, unprofessional, and behaves like a child. Very disrespectful and fails to realize respect is a two way street. Read recent reviews about this place. Believe them....Overpriced as well.

They were recommended by Profiles In History. They charged me for an item that they did not deliver. That item that they did not delivered happened to be the biggest and heaviest item of them all, yet they did not offer any refund, nor try to coordinate with other shipping company to get me my missing item. The pointing fingers/confusion between ArtPack and Profiles In History went on for 6 months, until they realized that that item was in a different state, Yet, ArtPack still charge me for that heavy item, and FAILED to REFUND me for the service that they DID NOT PROVIDE. they're basically thieves.

Art Pack provides expert packing and shipping for costly, fragile items. Each shipment is custom crated; it's like they make a piece of furniture to protect the contents. We often have breakage with shipments from other handlers, but Art Pack always comes through perfectly.

RIP OFF ARTISTS. Do yourself a favor and use one of the other shippers that an Auction house offers you. $290. to ship a framed animation art picture. I have bought similar sized framed animation art with higher insurance values and paid about $100 in next day shipping. Â Originally it was $195 which is high, then they tell me Profiles In History screwed up in the description so its going to be $95 more. This is after they picked up the item. Now do I want to argue with them while they are holding my property and tell them to bring it back? Read the other reviews! AGAIN Â SAVE YOURSELF MONEY and use another shipper. I did that when I won another auction the following week from Profiles and paid under $100 for similar insurance, though it was unframed.

CAUTION!!! BEWARE!!!! You will NOT be treated with respect or valued as a potential client unless you blindly accept a blanket quote for 3-4 times their competition. It took nearly 2 weeks to get a reply from 2 emails requesting a quote. Jeff never asked detailed questions pertaining to shipment (air vs sea, flat pack vs portfolio, customs details, destination agent, etc.) he simply assumed XYZ and gave me a quote for nearly $12k when FIVE other fine art firms were between $3-$4k for the EXACT same shipment. In trying to understand the line items (which were never divulged) and asking for clarification on charges, he simply refused to even communicate. Extremely poor customer service. I'm sincerely surprised this "business" is still in operation. Take your art transport business to someone that will value you - like Artworks San Diego or Cookes Crating - they are awesome!

I got 3 quotes to have an $80K painting shipped from LA to Miami as I was so nervous about getting it there safely. Not only was Art Pack very professional and responsive in communication when I had questions about the quote and shipment, they did an excellent job crating the painting and getting it there timely and most importantly, safe. I will definitely use Art Pack again for my fine art shipping.

I agree with Michelle's observations. I had a quote of 450.00 to ship roughly 125 snap shot photos that I won in an auction. All of this would have fit into a small priority box that at the post office would have charged 8.50 for at the most! I knew shipping would be higher than the post office because they want to pack carefully in a larger box, cost of materials, person to pack, pick-up fee etc but this was highway robbery. When I questioned Jeff the owner I was met with the same attitude that Michelle encountered. He even smartly said "I can't even start my car for 8.00!" That wasn't the point... it was the gross calculation and obvious gouging of prices. Thank goodness I had other options and other quotes were less than a fourth (still high) of what he was charging. Avoid this company unless you want to be overcharged and have the business owner act hateful once you ask questions about the price.

I won an online auction through Julien's Live auction site. The company they currently use for shipping/storing the won items is Art Pack Inc. First of all, it took me almost 2 weeks after my auction ended to even get in touch with the company. Finally, I received an enail estimate for shipping. For 8.5" x 11" envelope of less than a pound in weight, they estinated $95. I was, to say the least, apalled. I asked Jeff Rubie, the owner for a shipping figure run down and they ignored me. I asked them why the price was so high and again got ignored. In the end, they refused me shipping at all and sent my item back to Julien's to send to me. They obviously did not like that I questioned his pricing, his motives, and his speed in shipping. This business is obviously used to dealing with the rich, marking up prices, and not being questioned about it. Julien's says if a buyer contacts them after auction end, another form of shipping or storage for pickup can be arranged. I advise anyone who does not want to go through this kind of shoddy business treatment to do just that. Jeff Rubie is about the most rude business owner I ever had to deal with. He is in business for the money and I would not trust him with any item I purchased in any form. Also, they make it seem as if they are a large company when all they are is people working in a warehouse, raking in money for storage and questionable packing and shipping skills. Beware of them Art PACK Inc. 19230 Van Ness Ave. Torrance, CA 90501 T: 310.328.0300 F: 310.328.0307
