We have been taking our dog here for years and Susan is the BEST ANYWHERE. If I could give her 100 stars, I would. Our shitzu has seizures, was cut up by his first groomer& is therefore very skiddish at a groomer. He MELTS LIKE BUTTER in her hands. She is like the dog whisperer. Plus she is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and has actually helped more than our vet with a couple of issues he has had. She really cares about pets. Not fake smile fake caring. Real your hearts in it caring. I can leave him with her and not worry one second if he is ok. I can’t do that with ANYONE else. If you are looking for a new groomer- or even if your not- you should try her. She’s the best around!!!

When our groomer moved to Oklahoma, we turned to Susan at Creature Comforts, whom many folks in the dog park had recommended. She did a wonderful job on our Westie, who is a lot to handle. Highly recommended!

I would not recommend taking your dog here. We dropped off our puppy for a trim, and he came back with large patches ‘hacked’ out of his fur. It’s now many months later and it hasn’t fully grown out. Deeply disappointed and would never take a dog here.

Reasonably priced and excellent. My rescued Mexican street dog is not a fan of baths or having her nails trimmed. But she's good here when they groom her. And she smells great for a week after. Excellent service.

My dog is terrified of getting groomed. Absolutely petrified of combs. Literally shakes at the near sight of the groomers. This was my first time taking Kaia here and it was fabulous. First of all, the fact she made time for me with such a fast turn around was exceptional. The location is close to where I am temporarily staying and she was able to fit Kaia in quick! The biggest thing for me was Kaia's behavior afterwards. In the past Kaia will stand with her tail between her legs fearful and timid after a trop to the groomers. But we took her to the park afterwards and it was the first time I have EVER seen her so confident! I think having Kaia out with the other dogs instead of confining her in a crate was a game changer - I really love this approach. More importantly, I could tell by Kaia's body language that she was handled well, she was standing tall with her tail held high after. Deeply, deeply appreciated. This lady is more than a groomer - she is a dog handler.

We have been taking our energetic labradoodle to Creature Comforts for a few years now. She always enjoys going, as she gets to spend a day hanging out with other dogs in a friendly atmosphere. We had tried a few other groomers in Marin and unfortunately did not have the same experience. We like it because she comes home with a good-looking haircut and smelling great.

Susan is amazing with all of her years of expertise and wisdom . She has a very clean and perfectly ordered area for each dog loved for decades by all of her clients primarily locals . She has a very loving and sincere disposition with so many great qualities . What a nice experience you will enjoy at her grooming salon .

I'm not a huge YELPer but I've been meaning to post just how awesome Susan and Creature Comforts really are. She takes the best care of my furry companion / child and does excellent quality work. Highly recommended for any and all grooming needs!!

I took my ten-year old Tibetan Spaniel mix, Coco, to creature comforts last week to be groomed for the first time. Coco had severe skin irritation and itchiness for several weeks and had been on 2 rounds of antibiotics to fight off the infection that had developed. Susan was able to figure out the root of the problem by shaving and grooming the area to expose the raw irritated skin so it could heal naturally. I highly recommend Creature Comforts. Thanks to Susan, Coco is a happy dog again.

Susan, the shop owner, is a native of Marin and is one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. She has been a certified groomer all of her adult life and is a true dog lover. You don't have to worry about the dogs being in good hands. There are no hired helpers in the back room that you have to worry about mistreating your dog. Susan works alone and out in the open. She has a wonderful way with all dogs and manages all of the different personalities to come into her shop for grooming, people and furry animals alike. There are many reasons I am cautious about choosing a grooming shop; I know many of the things that can go wrong. Susan is the only groomer I will bring my dogs to in Marin when I am busy I need someone else to groom my dogs. I have also been a groomer and I understand what it's like to have customers bring their dogs in and say they are not matted, when they are. Many people don't even notice, or understand how to find the mats that form at the skin. Grooming is an incredibly challenging job and when dogs are brought in that are not properly groomed on a daily/weekly basis at home, some owners have a difficult time understanding how big the job turns out to be. And some dog owners flat out refuse to believe that their own dog has mats, so they get upset when the groomer has no choice but to cut the hair shorter to remove them, so the dog is not in pain and for hygienic reasons. Lastly, the review someone wrote about her allowing her dogs to run in the parking lot risking the safety or security of other dogs sounds absurd. Susan works hard all day and her to Rhodesian Ridgebacks (father and daughter) are so quiet, well behaved and under voice control that it hardly seems like they are there at all. If all dogs behaved the way Susans do, there would be very little problems or conflicts that include dogs in the community. My guess is the person who wrote the complaint about the dogs had a bad day, perhaps she didn't get to park in the one reserved parking spot that belongs to the grooming shop for clients or she just wants to complain about other people living their life and isn't accepting of even a well-behaved dog being allowed to walk off of a leash. I dont know about the person who commented, but I do know about the character of Susan the groomer as well as her incredibly gentle natured a dogs. If I could give her a higher recommendation, I would.
