Lake Elowin Resort is a rustic and magical place, a perfect blast from the past that maintains an old school sense of cabin living. Generations of families have been coming for years. It is a brilliant, quiet, and stunning location, a hidden gem with incredible views and perfect nature sounds. The grounds are amazing, situated right along the lake with access to a river, a koi pond, and plenty of wildlife like deer and birds. The cabins are rustic and simple, offering a kitchen with great utensils, a fridge, oven, and stove, a living space, a bedroom, and a small BBQ grill outside. Some cabins are right along the lake. However, the cabins can leave much to be desired, with occasional water issues, doors that do not close tightly, rough towels, and weak, spotty wifi. The resort is gated and incredibly quiet, where all you can hear is the sound of nature. It is a perfect place to relax, swim, kayak on the lake, hike, and stargaze at night under insane stars. It is roughly five miles from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park and a short drive from restaurants and bars. The owner and staff are consistently friendly, interesting, and incredibly kind, offering amazing hospitality and fascinating stories about the resort's special history. The price is amazing for its location and amenities. It is a wonderful stay with a very friendly owner.
