“After trying to do the Snip Bus for weeks to no avail, I went to Animal Samaritans. This outfit was amazing. The clinic was clean, empathetic to animals, and very professional. Our cat is doing great and we are so happy we were able to get her spayed finally and at a reasonable price. Thank you Animal Samaritans! You live up to your name!”

“Can’t say enough positive things about this whole office!!! Front office staff and the veterinary techs are always SO friendly, helpful and wonderful. Dr. Pentoney, my pups’ veterinarian, is the kindest I’ve ever ever met. She is so caring, smart, thoughtful, thorough and patient. She always takes the time to answer all my questions and concerns, and even personally calls to deliver messages about important lab results and tests. Dr. Pentoney has been a godsend even more so recently as one of my dogs has a tumor indicating soft tissue sarcoma, which is terrifying. I am truly SO grateful to this office for their care and kind demeanor. You can tell how much they value their clients and love animals with everything they do.”

“We were new to the desert in 2023 and visited Country Club Animal Clinic for our dog and cat’s annual exams. We love them! We have never waited more than a couple of minutes, all of the staff is friendly and helpful and the vets and vet technicians are have taken very compassionate care of our 19-yr old cat and picky-eater dog! There is even a separate waiting area for cats so that they are not frightened by dogs. We came back just recently for their 2024 exams and experienced the same, high quality, friendly and efficient care. We highly recommend Country Club Animal Clinic for all of your vet needs!”

“They were very kind to me they helped me with my cat and gave her all the care that she needed. The staff was very professional and caring. I am glad that I took her there. I couldn't have imagined bringing her to another vet. These guys are the best. Will definitely be going back again.”

“My two Cats, a Bengal & a Tabby saw Ms. Bradshaw at our home in La Quinta as a new client during COVID lockdown times in October 2021. I had struggled to find a Vet and she had great references. Both Cats were in need of Vaccines. She performed wellness exams on each Cat, discussed food & diet, gave necessary Vaccines. I paid full exam fees for each Cat. My Bengal needed a 2nd Vaccine and she preferred to wait a week or two. I had always done them at the same time with our previous Veterinarian in Virginia but listened to her advice. She booked another Appointment to have a Technician come to the house but what I hadn't expected was to pay another visit or exam fee on top of the Vaccine cost. After complaining, she did credit the visit fee. We moved to Palm Springs until September 2023 when we moved back to La Quinta Cove. During that time I had to re-home my beautiful Bengal as he became an escape Artist and I wasn't willing to let him become another victim of a Coyote or other wild Animal coming around the house in Palm Springs. I had called Ms. Bradshaw but the telephone number was "No longer in Service." So I sent an email on her website. It took a few days to get a response but I was told they were downsizing & since my Tabby hadn't been seen by her since October 2021 we no longer made "the list." This was a bit of a surprise to me. She only needs her Rabies shot but I like to do an annual Wellness Exam. So....we are now back to searching for a Veterinarian. All of her Staff is very kind, caring, but we had mistakes made in the Vaccine logs for which Cat received what & an error on Birth date. I made sure she updated so we didn't run in to issues down the road. House Calls are great but just know they're limited on Services. I had wanted to get both Cats teeth cleaned but at that time it wasn't an option. This may have changed now but check first. COVID was a difficult time for all of us pet owners. I sure hope she stays in the Business because all of the ladies were Animal Lovers & it showed.”

“I felt good about our appointment and am looking fwd to getting the pheromone atomizer for the house. I bet that will take care of my problem. I may pass on the urinalysis until after I see how the atomizer works. My decision is solely financially based.”

“Referred here for specialty dental surgery and all I can say is wow, the dedication, compassion, and care here are just above and beyond. The surgery team stayed after hours for as long as it took to do a quality and amazing job, not even close to an off the clock once it is 5 kind of vet. Would 100% return back here if the need ever arises. Thank you again for taking such great care of Lana!”

“We took a hamster for Esperanza's sanctuary in for her leg to be looked at and make sure she was healthy and the vet staff was fabulous with her and we were a part of the plan for treatment. The atmosphere was calm compared to other VCA facilities I have been in and the Dr.Horwitz was awesome with our patient and my small human who loves that hamster. She came highly recommended by another vet in the valley as well. Here she is taking her meds happily.”

“Just wow! In desperate need of help, I ran my dog at 5:30 pm to get help for a toy he swallowed that I thought had a battery in it. The ER was full and wouldn't see him and suggested I drive to Redlands, but I know better that things like this can't wait. VCA turns out is a 3.5 minute drive from my house so I took my chance. I was panicked and upset (my dog is my baby) They were calming and compassionate and saw him right away! Dr Smith could see how nervous my dog Grandpa was and took extra care to make him feel calm and safe. When explaining to me the good news of the x rays Dr Smith was so patient and never rushed us out. He truly cared and it was a breath of fresh air from what we were used to. The next day he called to follow up- not his receptionist but the actual doctor himself. I'm so grateful for their services and helping Grandpa and can't wait to make Dr Smith Grandpas official vet! Thank you so much!”

“Wonderful experience today at VCA Desert Dunes. I noticed my cat was acting a bit off and likely needed medical care. I didn’t have an appointment but they were able to get me in right away. The experience calmed my nerves and my cat was well taken care of. The staff and vet were so kind, helpful, and I highly recommend this facility if your pet is in need of good care. Roxy is already feeling better!”

“They got me in same day which I very much appreciated since my baby got sick on Christmas. They were up front about pricing and kind about the breakdown of costs. They didn't try and push loads onto us or make us feel guilty for what we couldn't afford. I don't know what's going to show up on my kitties bloodwork but the receptionist and doctor made me feel welcome and were attentive and kind. I do feel he's in good hands here and I appreciate the kindness while we navigate what could be wrong with my baby.”

“I'm baffled by some of the bad reviews because I have had nothing but the best experience and service from VCA Desert Hospital. I'm not friends/family with anyone that works there so my experience and review is purely as a paying client.

My dog was into her senior years when I started coming to VCA and I enrolled her in the Care Club. I realize this may not be an option for some people, but it's such good preventative care and it amortizes costs which takes the sting out of routine pet visits since I paid a reasonable amount monthly. I truly saved money in the long run. It made dental care affordable and all the exams, blood work, x-rays, and vaccines are included.

When I had problems with a prescription I ordered through the mail order service (which is part of VCA corporate but isn't run by the pharmacy at the Desert Hospital) two different employees (sorry I don't remember your names) called me to help troubleshoot the issue and address my issue.

A couple of times when I needed to bring my dog in immediately, I was able to call ahead and they would call me if something opened up and it always did. They would squeeze me in same day. So sometimes when I had an appointment, and they had emergencies, I didn't mind waiting longer since I knew if it was my dog, I would get that priority treatment for an emergency as well.

I recently had to euthanize my dog and the care and compassion I received was wonderful. Also, I didn't know what expect when I chose a private cremation and the company they work with, Above & Beyond Pet Cremations, was beyond amazing (I wrote a review for them too). The whole presentation of my pet's remains was bespoke and lovely and VCA included a sweet handwritten card.

Overall, I find the staff to be warm, personable, attentive, and professional. They really do care about their patient animals. The facility is clean and well-maintained. They even name each of the examination rooms after a U.S. state. And I've never had an issue with not having my pet's needs met. It has been high quality care, through and through.

A huge thank you to Dr. Koodrich and the entire staff that took care of my dog over the last three-and-a-half years. You really did provide her with a better quality of life to the end. Thank you.”

“I was unable to find a 4 pound bag of a certain dog food anywhere. I stopped into this Petco (Palm Desert) I was able to speak to the manager Casey. She was very willing to help me she was able to lead me right to the dog food I was looking for. Casey also let me know that in the future if they didn't have the food in stock to let her know and she would order it for me. This store is very well stocked and very clean. All the employees were very polite and friendly paying a lot of attention to my dog and giving her plenty of cookies. I highly recommend this pet store.”

“We were visiting from out of town and this particular store seemed smaller and older. Very short staffed with 7 people waiting for one cashier although there were at least 4 other employees on the floor. After about 10 minutes, another cashier showed up. Of course I was the last person in line so the cashier was happy to get the crickets I needed.”

“Carter Animal hospital is the best in the valley! The staff and doctors are amazing and they care about your pets. It's a family feeling yet professional. I've been going to Carter Animal hospital for well over 15 years, I have had two cats pass away, but the love and compassion that they extended to me during that time is what made the difference! I would highly recomend this facility, and I won't go anywhere else!”

“These people are ANGELS!!!! They've definitely restored my faith in humanity. I found a stray kitten here in Cat City. It was 120 degrees out in July. This poor kitten was so skinny and not doing well. I brought it to PS SHELTER only to be turned away because of a disease outbreak and they mentioned this place as a possible drop off. I called and they said sure! Bring it in! I can't believe how kind the employees are and the volunteers. The 2 ladies out front were just angels and helped me feel so much better about the poor kitten and guaranteed it would be ok. I chatted with them for at least 20 minutes about being turned away every time I bring in a stray and they told me about the owner/vet Dr. Diaz and how big her heart is and I just started bawling!!! You never find people like this, just the kindest. Please support them, I wish I had a cat so I could take it here and support”

“The staff and the Vet doctor were so kind. My poor baby had ruptured anal glands and I was absolutely losing my mind. He was in pain and bleeding.l I called them as soon as they opened and they were able to get me in within a couple hours. I was a nervous wreck and they told me that I could wait in the lobby and if they could get me in earlier, they would. Thank God they were able to get me in about an hour earlier, which I'm sure isn't usually the case. My baby (a dog) got antibiotics and pain meds. They didn't try to upsell any extra services. They gave me info on why this happens to small dogs and send us on our way. He is doing better and healing perfectly. I am so grateful for their kind and patient staff. It is also an extremely clean place. The energy is beautiful and you could tell they really enjoy their job and what they do”
