Really lovely experience. Loving my summer nails! Emily was thorough and took care with making my nails look exactly how I requested. This will be my go to place from now on!

I never wrote reviews but I got really disrespected from coming in for my appointment. Emily is good friends with my mother but today she really was very beyond rude to me. I'm the daughter of my mom that Emily is close with. When I came in! She gets up and starts to say "what do you want to do?" I reply back that "I want only white and to go shorter" she comes and says that "I'm confused, and can't speak well." She starts to say that "if I want only to cut only and no paint, and no refill." Which made me nervous and kept saying "ummm" nervously. She kept getting a little annoyed because I kept saying "umm" which I just want to cut shorter and get white only. My mom made an appointment for me to get refills. She knows what I'm getting. What got me upset is when my mother came in the lady started to laugh like it's funny I can't speak well as she points out. She told my mom that I can't speak and kept saying "umm". I was just nervous and confused about what was going on. My nails aren't even good at all. She did my nails that aren't even at all. Some are square like sharp square but others aren't even square at all. Especially, don't come there because she told me that she doesn't care about my feelings. The way she said it was beyond disgusting! I never seen bad behavior with a nail tech. She really is rude and will be losing her customers of how she is! Today, she lost 4 people at the same time! She thought I was gonna hit her like I'm not a type of person who fights. I was trying to express how I felt uncomfortable. She really didn't care about me, or any customers feelings just her business! Don't waste your time coming to a place that you'll get mad disrespected for no reason! Find a good place instead and have better customer service!

Everytime I walk in here it's empty and the lady refuses me service. Doesn't ask what I want, just tells me she can't take me. This time she opens the door and tells me she can't take me before asking the service I want, and tells me to go somewhere else.

it was my second time with owner Unique Nail & Wax. She ran behind schedule and didn't have time for quality job. for next day, my nail was cracked. I came back to fix my nail but she told me she has no time. Only schedule's on Monday 3 o'clock. Sunday was my friend birthday party .I was so upset with my broken nail. Monday at 3 o'clock Emily fix my nail. For extra charge. I asked all my friend who did nail in a different salon nobody told me they have to pay extra.. she is very unprofessional.

I have lived in Newbury Park since 2013, as a working professional and mom of two, Emily has been my saving Grace! You see, it's so much more than getting your nails done to perfection as an entrepreneur and mom! I am going and moving working with my hands and on my feet more hours than I can count. When I see Emily at Unique Nails it is time to relax, sit (for once), listen to the meditation music as she files, cleans, gives a caring hot oil massage and a fresh new polish color allows me to recenter myself. Emily is one of the hardest working and with a big heart to always care for and support her customers. As a woman business owner myself, today it's about relationships and connection, thank you Emily for creating a space for women and men (I take my husband once every 6 weeks), to provide themselves with self-care while receiving treatments- You're truly the BEST! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I suggest Top Nail in Thousand Oaks! Emily is beyond rude. She fired all the good employees like Nina who has been working there for years. Probably because she cannot get along with anyone.. I witnessed her getting very passive aggressive and mean with one of her other customers. Do not waste your time.

Emily is on her own, a one woman show. Her pedicures are fantastic! I get the extended massage and it's so so good!

I've been coming here for years and Emily is flat out disrespectful, especially if you offend her. She has said MANY times she doesn't care what her customers think. Well, I don't care anymore either. You lost another loyal customer.

I don't get anything fancy just semi regular pedicures due to lots of walking. My feet and toes need work not just color and it's been difficult to find someone who is willing to put in that work and not just rush me out the door or try to sell more. Until I found Emily. Emily is also the owner of the shop and has provided me consistently great customer service and quality for a great price. If your looking for a new manicurist you can rely on, look no further!

Been coming here for years but enough is enough I called to make an appointment for a pedi with Emily and was told she was going on vacation and didn't have any immediate openings I then suggested a date when she returned but she told me she was all booked up and left it at that Never once did she propose a new date so I guess she's not interested in return business Her work is good IF you catch her on a good day otherwise you're dealing with Sybil at the switch She'll either go off on you or another customer or you could sit in uncomfortable silence until she finishes Either way Emily ...you lost another loyal customer You cannot treat your customers like crap... there's too much competition out there

Tried to give her another chance despite the insanity that continues below.....but when I called she lied and said she's on vacation for two months. Guess she really holds a grudge if you ask her to fix TWO nails with just one extra coat of paint. Give me a break.... I'll start by saying I was a client for about two years and have spent a huge amount of my hard earned money. Not only that but would travel out of my way to come to the salon. I would come in regularly for my fills or new sets. I never knew what kind of mood Emily would be in. Sometimes chatty and sometimes uncomfortably quiet. I get it...I have those days as well. But appointments started to run over and I basically always had to wait 10-30 minutes. Ten is no biggie but when it goes beyond that it isn't cool. The real breaking point for me though was my most recent appointment last month. And it's been hard for me to decide do I write this or not. But the disgusting treatment I received....I cannot ignore it. I got my fill and a few of the nails were WAY lighter than the others. It was noticable and I pay a lot for my nails. I should not settle. I kindly asked via text could she fix two nails in the hour at some point rather than me having to drive back out at another date. I didn't get a response. I figured, it's ok she's busy I'll just go in and check before. I go home. Big mistake. I walk in the salon and she's giving a pedicure (nobody else works for her anymore). She gets up abruptly and snaps "what do you want". I explain just one more coat of polish on two nails when you get a moment. She storms over and slams a polish on the table and same with the gel lamp. I put my hand up and she starts going off. She says that I want perfection but that's not possible. She then goes on to say she's not God. And that "even God can't make perfect" and uses a women's anatomy to compare that even two features on a woman are never exactly the same. I sat there quietly and let her rant because she does that from time to time. Anyway, I said thank you as she finished fixing the two nails.... she got up and walked away. Said nothing, didn't apologize or acknowledge my appreciation. I for one will not tolerate disrespect even if you're the best nail tech on the planet (she's not but I admit shes usually pretty great.) Anyway between the disrespect toward me that day and her saying how people are cheap because they want color all the way to the cuticle so they can come in less or having an issue that they're not coming in every 3 weeks....I'll pass. There are salons everywhere and I'll never allow this type of treatment again..I'd rather paint my own nails. Not to mention since she is alone she does everything so your appointment will constantly get interrupted by phone calls and walk ins. I don't like leaving reviews that could hurt business especially in an already bad economy... but sorry Emily...you need to learn some respect.
