There has been a significant degradation of honesty and affordability of the service department ever since Swickard took over this year. Prices have shot up (brake service +30% in one year) and quoted a timing belt tensioner and belt service for $3000+. DCH Honda of Oxnard quoted 25% less. After buying three cars from Honda of Thousand Oaks and 16 years of using them exclusively for service, we're not going back. There are too many dealer options around to support dishonesty and gouging.

I have purchased my last three new Hondas from Honda of Thousand Oaks (now Swickard Honda) even though it's a 45-minute drive from my home. That says something! Rent is lower in Thousand Oaks than LA, so originally I figured it was worth the drive. I believe you are more likely to get a better deal in Thousand Oaks. But, most importantly, each time I was able to buy without any dealer shenanigans such as the ole' bait and switch games. And I've seen it all! I certainly can't say the same about other dealers. By default, I shop around every time. This time around, almost all of the rest of the dealers INSISTED on bundling overpriced options/accessories that I didn't want/need. I'm not sure if these were factory-installed or dealer-installed options. One dealer REFUSED to email me an itemized out-the-door quote. So, this time I also traded in my old Honda. Swickard Honda matched the offer price of an online service just based on pictures and car information that I provided. So, everything was decided in advance. Nothing was reneged on once I got there. Aside from that, the dealership has a comfortable lounge with free WIFI. I should also mention that many banks are situated right next to this auto mall, for example, if you are paying in cash.

When I was purchasing my 2023 Honda CRV hybrid sport, they refused to sell it to me without purchasing their 2 thousand dollar paint protection package, which the salesman claimed protected against all damage to the paint. I wasn't happy about it but I figured' oh well it protects the pain and it's the only way I can get the car right now". About one year later, I bring the car back in with a small paint chip to the hood and was informed that my paint protection package does not protect against paint chips or scrapes, only cosmetic damage from water droplets or bird feces. I feel lied to and will never be purchasing a vehicle from this dealer chain again.

I was in the market for a CR-V. Saw one listed in the paper and went to go check it out. By the time I got there, they said it had been sold. Was still listed a month later. Can you smell clickbait? I have reservations about "Swickard Honda". I was guided to another CR-V on the lot, which was exactly what I was looking for, just a couple/few grand more than the one advertised. I test drove it and was happy with the drive and appearance. Was also a Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPO). Was told these are the cream of the crop used cars, still have remaining warranty and or additional warranties. They also have a "Car Facts" like reporting system, which ironically was down (electronically). Another irony, as of writing one month later, this "Auto Check" is still not available to the consumer electronically. I told the salesman I was interested and asked if there was any room for negotiating, to which he replied "no." "We've conducted price research within 100 miles and feel this is a fair market price." I should have gone to Culver City Honda like my gut was telling me, and could have saved nearly 10% on the identical CPO vehicle. Long story short, there were "items" not verbally expressed to me during the purchasing phase, which I feel was not ethical, and I could have used as bargaining chips to reduce the price. I did not find out about this until going through the documents at home at a later date. Clearly these were important items which should have been conveyed. It also took Swickard nearly two weeks to process paperwork with my trade in, necessitating an additional payment to have been made on my trade in, after a release of liability and bill of sales had been signed. Moral of my story, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone elsewhere. Also ask for the vehicles complete history rundown before agreeing with anything.

I always bring my car to Acura of Thousand Oaks where I purchased it brand new. My vehicle is a critical part of my career because I cannot be late nor delay my services, for any reason. I was happy to have found a caring Service Advisor at Acura but an after almost a year, he moved to Honda of TO. Justin Z. Soohoo, has always been an outstanding ambassador of the Acura brand, he makes us feel like one of his when caring for our vehicle. He explains the services needed and provides us alternatives to fix the maintenance services, at the same time. He updates us during the maintenance protocols and makes sure that our vehicle is in tip top shape, all the time. Justin is an outstanding ambassador of how service advisors should be: personable, caring, and an honest individual who puts his customers at a higher level of respect than others. We shall always go to Honda and Acura of Thousand Oaks as long as Justin Soohoo is there to serve us!

Don't go here. They will take advantage of you on your own warranty and say things aren't covered when they are. Another dealership had to tell me I got taken advantage of. Don't buy from here or get services either.

On Saturday 9/2/23, we made an appointment to test drive a car we were interested in buying at 11am the next morning. We drove all the way out there and they told us, sorry someone bought - but they didn't call us to cancel the appointment because they thought they could get us in a Honda Pilot or something. Common courtesy would have been to call the customer so they didn't waste an hour drive time for absolutely nothing. Just a bad way of doing business. DON'T TRUST ANY APPOINTMENTS, THEY JUST WANT TO GET YOU IN AND TRY TO SELL ANOTHER CAR.

Very dishonest car dealership. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because the sales rep was very nice with me. I went to this dealership because Costco confirmed they would honor the Costco Auto Buying program for a certain car trim model. They didn't have the interior color I wanted, so I left the dealer. A few days later I called them back to tell them I changed my mind and that I wanted to purchase the car after all. The sales rep then told the manager wouldn't honor the Costco deal because they only had one car of that trim level left in the lot. I called Costco and they confirmed again that they should offer the deal, but I told him that the dealer said no. Costco directed me to another dealer, Honda of Reseda. This dealer only had one car as well of the trim level I wanted. And guess what, they honor the deal! So yeah, I do not recommend this dealer.

Unclear business motive - selling new cars is clearly not a priority here. I'm in the market for two vehicles. I've purchased from Honda of Thousand Oaks before, so I felt this would have been a "no-brainer" kind of sale. I came ready to buy on a Sunday afternoon.Let's start with their parking lot. There are numerous dealer cars parked illegally in the area marked "Customer Parking" - making it virtually impossible to drive through the lot and find a spot. It was tight enough that the sales people in blue were all watching us try to navigate through this mine field. It might be nice to welcome your customers by having space! I mean if I'm going to spend $100k on vehicles, I should be able to park, right?Once I was able to get on the lot and look, I was completely ignored. There were salesman running out of the building to greet other people and ask if they were being helped. For some reason, we weren't worthy. We tried to get several peoples attention, but after 30 minutes of trying, I gave up. I left. Not worth my time! They don't deserve the business of the Westlake / TO clientele.

Do not come here for trade-ins. The appraisal was unjustifiably low. Also, it seemed like they did not even care about making a sale. The salesman didn't even come back and sent another guy over. Buying a car is frustrating enough and they just make it a million times worse. There are so many other dealerships in the area to settle for that kind of service. The VW one down the street is a thousand times better!!

After much frustration with the Honda service center by my house I decided to give this location a go. My wife is an Acura owner and loves their dealership next door. Since both places have the same owner I was hoping for a good experience as well. Sadly I was disappointed. The service itself was fine but the fact it took over 5 hours to get my car back when they told me 2-3 was unacceptable. Had I known they would place my car on the back burner I would've made other arrangements. I wouldn't even be leaving this review if they were honest with me in the beginning or just apologized when they noticed my frustrations. But as they say at Thousand Oaks Honda, "Something things happen."

Would give zero stars if I could. Bought a brand new CRV from Oxnard Honda but Thousand Oaks was closer to me when an error msg saying there was an electrical issue with my brakes came up. Car is 3 weeks old under Honda warranty. The Thousand Oaks service department dis not even look at the car. Claimed it's not their problem and I should take it back where I bought it. Mind you it's covered by Honda national policy. I just didn't have time to argue. I drove to Oxnard where they fixed it in less then 10 min. First Honda Simi Valley is also good. But avoid this dealer and service shop as they don't care about their customers or responsibility. I called Honda directly and they were shocked I received this type of bad service. In the end I was offered a free oil change as an "apology" but after the way I was treated and kicked out of the dealership in 5 min, I will never return to this shop and recommend you go elsewhere. This is a very common story in this area, look at other reviews. They just don't want to do any work that's complicated or insurance or warranty related and only care about making the most money they can and upsell everything or ignore you. Go elsewhere First Honda Simi Valley is 10 min away and is a much better experience where I been servicing my Honda with great success and no drama.

I was not looking forward to bringing in myCar for rodent damage. The service department was incredibly quick at getting myCar looked at and repaired. They were able to fix the problem in just a day.
