I took my car here for yearly service and an airbag warning. The total cost was $1400 which was very high. A few days later the airbag warning light comes back on. I let Sammy know & take the car back. He says the airbag needs to be replaced & that he would find me a used one and not charge me labor since they didn’t fix it the first time. He calls me and tells me he’s found one for around $500. I come back in to get it replaced and get sent an invoice for $850 with $440 of labor. I said the only reason I came back to have you replace it was because you weren’t going to charge me labor. He said fine I’ll have my guys remove the airbag so I was forced to pay the $850. Also the airbag was only $350 so he lied about that too. Please be aware of Sammy! He will scam you and upcharge you. I will never be coming back.

$500 to look at our car for 30 mins? He had us sign a consent form to allow him to look at our car for no cost. 30 mins later he called us and said he was ready to tell us what he found. After telling us what he thought he was wrong with the car, he demanded $500. That was just for an inspection. He didn't do any work on it. We refused. He then ran to his office, closed the door, and came out after a minute or so. Then he walked over to us and showed us the paper we signed, where he had obviously just written in "agrees to pay $500 for inspection", and demanded we pay him. We told him we see that he had obviously doctored the paper and that we never signed anything like that. Then he changed the amount to $100. He said if we didn't pay him the new amount he just forged onto the paper we signed, he'd call police. He said "Who are they going to believe: you or me?" while laughing.

Sammy is the most honest mechanic I have ever come across. He runs his business with the utmost ethics and never overcharges. He treats his customers with much respect and does everything in his power to make sure cars are safe. He deserves nothing less than 5 stars in every way possible, and the people that gave him a bad review here probably did not want to pay or they must have issues themselves because I cannot fathom Sammy disrespecting any customer. 5 stars all around and would recommend this business to anyone!

Thank you Sammy and Horacio! From the moment I spoke with Horacio on the phone, I knew this was a reliable place to take my car. Sammy was knowledgeable, patient, and explained everything to me in detail. I received updates throughout the day. I appreciate the time and effort they take with their customers. I never felt uneasy or unsure about what I was told. You can tell they genuinely care and offer great service. Definitely my go to location! Appreciate you guys!

Not a fan of their unethcical owner and the discrimination here. I came in because the check engine light came on in my car and the smog test was coming up. He glanced at my car with me standing there, then claimed it needed $7000 in repairs or would "blow up" on the way home. I said I'd think about it and come back if I decided to go forward. He then became furious and stompted off to his office to edit a paper I signed to make it look like I'd agreed to pay $150 for him to look at the car. Of course I'd never agreed to that. No one would. $150 or more to look at the car without telling you? It depends on what he thinks he can get out of you, based on his perception of you when you arrive. But don't worry- even if he guesses wrong, like he did in my case, he'll just edit anything you sign to include a higher cost than you agreed on before he opens the hood. He wrote in "$150" on the "cost" line on the paper when I arrived to hear what he thought might be wrong with the car. He didn't even put the car on a lift. He took a paper I signed giving consent for possible repairs at the beginning of the assessment and wrote in "$150" on it an hour later, to make it look like I had agreed to pay $150 for him to look at it. When I said "Whoa- what?", he looked at me wide-eyed. I guess he didn't expect anyone to not bow down to him? Then suddenly he said, "OK. $100." I was still in shock. So, he started mumbling that if I brought the car back to do repairs with him, the $150 would go towards the repairs. I said, "OK, write that on the paper then." He got nervous and initialed something unrelated. Ridiculous. I should have known he was doing something illegal. He did- he altered the document I signed agreeing to allow the shop to *look* at the car. I said, "You didn't say it cost $150 to look at the car. He agreed and then said some inappropriate things. I dont want to be too sepcific about his tactics and unintentionally make him a better con artist. Then he smirked and kept pointing to the paper he'd altered the price on. He pointed to his cameras and laughed. "Oh, should I call the cops then?" more smirking. He knew I'd have no recourse if cops arrived, since I doubt he has cameras in his office where he alters documents clients sign after the fact. He later started mocking me. "What? You don't know how to read ENGLISH?!" thinking that was clever, but I'm a native speaker, so it was just silly and bizarre. He shouted, "Oh! So you want me to fix your car for FREE!" Amateur attempt at gaslighting, my dude. Looks like he has this con down to T. It must be a racket he does often. You'll notice another reviewer praising his treatment of her "as a woman" and never over-charging her as his customer of 10 (!) years. Who wants to tell her? The second I pushed back on his con, he became irate. Also note the many "not recommended" 5-star Yelp reviews written by new accounts with no other reviews. They are obviously by the owner. One even has his own name (pic below). Thankfully, Yelp caught on to this not-so-brilliant scheme and hid them.

Having known Sammy and Horacio for over 15 years, using them as my primary mechanic for numerous cars I can say unequivocally they are among the most honest, reliable and knowledgeable mechanics I have ever used. My love of older BMWs makes it necessary to have a mechanic I can trust. My goal is to enjoy my cars, not worry about the issues in owning them. These two highly trained mechanics as well as their staff ensures not only that my cars are reliable, but are always operating as the manufacturer intended. My suggestion is to stop by and have a conversation with them, even if you're not in need of a mechanic at that moment. Then, if ever you do need one (for a repair or regular maintenance) you won't be driven by emotion. Enjoy the open road! It beckons us all!!

I have been taking my Mercedes here for ten years for service and repair. As a woman, I am always leery of customer service and honesty. Sammy and his great crew have always treated me with honesty and respect. Always making sure I have a ride home and that my car is delivered back to me in better condition than when I left it. Fair with prices. My car engine light came on and stalled, the nearest repair garage told me I needed a fuel pump. Mucho bucks. I had my car towed to Independence BMW and it was out of gas. My fuel sensor needed replacement at $180.00 instead of a new fuel pump. BEWARE out there!

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Yelled at me when i was trying to set up a pick up time for my car. He is not willing to work with you at all! He either has it his way or no way. Then he started yelling at me that he was charging me extra daily when i was trying to pick it up. Then he accused me of lying to him and hung up on me. I would rather go anywhere else and not deal with being disrespected and up charged!

Best shop I've taken my cars. Sammy and his team are honest, professional, always on time and much more fair than any dealership. Highly recommend!
