I recently purchased a 1980 Porsche Targa converted to a Cabriolet. In that conversion there were some electrical oddities that became problems for me. Filip and Mike are golden because they had to research and troubleshoot to fix the car's problems. This is probably the fourth German car I've brought to Filip. I'm so happy of the results. I value honesty, integrity and expertise. This is where you find it.

Of course, any shop should be cheaper than a dealership, dealerships are going to charge the most. Phillip worked on my MINI. I had just gotten it. It had some issues and I was in desperate need to get it fixed. He took a quite a long time to work on it. I don’t think it was a priority for him to fix my car. I did say I was not in a hurry but it’s stretched out to a long time, comically long. I felt like if I didn’t push and gave him plenty of time he would probably give me a good deal since I was going to leave my car there until it was ready and let him work on whatever priorities he had. You know I made my car lowest priority hoping to get a good deal on the work. After all the work was finished I felt like the price was too high but I’m not a mechanic myself, so how can I say? Well, I took the invoice to four other shops, and they all told me that I was overcharged. I asked Philip about this, and for an accommodation in form of a small refund. Philip is adamant with a passion that he charged me a very low price, and there was way more work than he charged me for, he says he basically did three hours of work and only charged me one hour for every different work item. I have gone to another place to get work done since I’ve been to Import Auto Clinic, and the other shop actually changed some things that Philip did, saying that minis have had updates that make them more reliable. You shouldn’t just go back to the OE part when there are better quality fixes for issues, specifically with the cooling system in this instance. So I don’t know that Philip is the best guy to work on minis. I do believe that Philip can and will fix your car to the basic standard, and I do feel that he has a lot of passion for what he does. I just don’t feel we’re on the same page and so I will look for other places to work on my car. Perhaps this is a good place if you have a high salary, or maybe I’m just too poor to use this location and Thousand Oaks is not the right area for me when it comes to getting a car fixed. I am looking more towards Simi Valley as I’ve been told that the labor rates are lower in that area and that’s what my salary can afford I suppose. I also did not do this review for a long time because a friend of mine recommended this place but after getting told by so many other shops that I had overpaid, I thought it was time to put my nagging to rest and just talk to the man about the situation. So I think saying that this place is three stars which is average, I think for me this is an average place and I’ve learned my lesson on doing more research before getting work done.

Filip does a great job working with older Volkswagens. He has found and fixed several problems on my 2001 Eurovan. I was referred to him by the local VW dealer who didn’t have mechanics to work on older cars. Super happy

Sent wife to get smog done on 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ we had been fixing up for years. She was happy I finally finished it. Apparently the catalytic converter I purchase years ago did not have an EO number on it. Easily noticeable upon visual which should be step one. Technician continued to test entire vehicle which passed by the way as far as emissions were concerned and then failed and charged her for the test for a rule that probably wasn't around when parts were purchased. Total scam artist. As a small business owner I try and help whenever I can not take advantage. Don't trust this shop.

Ever since I purchased my BMW, I've felt the oil drain plug didn't feel quite right on each oil change. This last oil change, i noticed the cause to be a stripped oil pan. I tried an oversized plug with no luck. I called around Monday needing the car to be done by Wednesday, and was turned down by most shops to rethread the pan. I called these guys and although they were busy, they agreed to try and get it done by then. I dropped it off Tuesday and Wednesday morning it was all fixed using a timesert! I'm very happy I did not need to replace the whole oil pan. On top of that, they were able to save the new oil, which was fairly expensive as I used Liquimoly oil and their additive. Overall a terrific experience. I will be using these guys again.

I had a very unique problem that I needed guidance and recommendations on whether to repair or sell my Mercedes. The body and interior were in perfect condition, however, the engine needed replacing. I have never been to this repair shop before. I was referred by a local car lot. Once I met Filip, I knew had the trusted mechanic for the proper guidance. Together we decided it was worth finding the right engine and replacing the old one. I was able to locate an engine with 61K miles, had it shipped and it was installed. Best decision I made. This was not a small task. Filip was supportive, patient and honest throughout the process. I would highly recommend this garage for any job, large or small. I have used several local shops in the past, including dealers. Finding someone you trust is the challenge. I am now a customer for life!
