Warning! Don't do business with this store. Their customer service doesn't exist. Disabled seniors are ignored, especially by manager Joanne. She completely ignored me when asking for help and hasn't called when other managers promised she would. I had to make numerous returns on poorly made or broken merchandise. One product completely fell apart when I opened it, but I'm spending too much money on gas going back. Customer service interrogates you if you return broken items within 30 days, and doesn't want to help you find a replacement. It's easier walking out with nothing and going to Ace, Lowes or DIY. They didn't even charge me what was advertised. No wonder Home Depot stocks are down.

The store has less and less inventory, empty shelves. But worse, customer service is all time low. They are rude, impatient, uninformative. Good luck if you have to return their defective products. They put you on trial. And if you are disabled, you might be lucky and get helpful customers, because Home Depot doesn't care at all. They don't deserve one star.

I came to return some items several times. Cynthia has helped me and another young lady Azalea but their both amazing. Their always with smiles and a positive attitude. Also another lady Betty has helped me in the past to find products I needed. The two gentleman in lumbar. Their Hispanic I think their in charge of that area. I can't recall their names but they got an accent. Those guys are amazing and deliver the best service.

AAA+++ Today i needed to replace a shovel which did not last anywhere near as long as i had expected, i realize that the retail industry is not what it was in decades past, even though these days i no longer expect or require the level of customer service which seemed only to exist in the past, i felt compelled to see if my patronage of local Home Depot was of any significance. I brought in the defective shovel and to make a long story short, i was highly pleased with the outcome. one of the associates Cynthia seemed to have a keen perception of how to get right to the best solution.honestly for several years i had been disappointed with homedepot in general, yet i believe in patronizing my local businesses, and retail business is a two way street, as long as i feel that my business matters to home depot and they employ insightful intelligent and helpful people, i feel thankful that we have such a store to shop at in this town.

I ordered (3) custom wardrobe mirrors (over 8K) at my local home depot (Thousand Oaks, CA) Finally the day came to install. Unfortunately, there were some broken parts. My Home Depot Installer told me they would take care of communicating and will come back out with parts and finish the installation. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing. Went to the store and spoke to the Customs department Manager (the official name for the department is Speciality DH). Her name is Jessica. And, this is where the nightmare starts. I understand how hard it is to get people. However, to have a manager completely drop the ball over and over with horrible communication and give no support is despicable! Every time ( daily) I call and either get, gone home, in a meeting etc. I stop in and once in a while get to talk to her where she apologizes profusely and promises to call me a get her district manager involved. Crickets!!! Horrible experience and will NEVER order anything custom from Home Depot again. BTW, have you ever tried to call corporate?... JOKE

I have been a Pro member, (renovating houses for over 40 years) and a loyal Home Depot customer (this fact as you will see matters very little). Doing cement work on a project, I purchased two new plastic shrink-wrapped containers of "Dobies" (84 per container priced @ 0.66 cents each) equalling 168 dobies. They come connected together with wire on top in a row of approximately 12 and break apart as you need them. After opening one of the packages, I realized that they were too large and took them ALL to be returned. The only "return" customer in line around 11am, I presented my receipt and told the return clerk Jennifer that they wouldn't work out for my job site. All was cordial until Jennifer stated that she needed to count them. I told her okay, but that they were all there. She preceded to count each "block" of 12 as "one" so I walked over to inform her that they were removable individual pieces. William, the returns supervisor then approached to show Jennifer how to count them properly. William became frustrated at one point and told her that he would show her if she was "willing to listen to him." WITHOUT counting them individually, William and Jennifer determined that one of the packages was short from the 168 count on the receipt and Jennifer stated that she couldn't give me a full refund. I repeated that they were all there and that she needed to count them individually or call a front end manager. She said "fine," and called for a manager. Not liking to be called a liar, I walked to the cart and began counting them myself. I stated in front of William and Jennifer that it shouldn't be so difficult to make a return with a receipt and that I should have probably gone to Lowes (literally across the street). Jennifer retorted, "good, go to Lowes next time, I don't care." I stood up from counting and asked her what her name was but she refused to answer. William then walked over and said, "a manager has been called now go stand over there (pointing toward the corner of the queue line), a manager is on the way." I informed him that I was a Pro member who spent tens of thousands of dollars per year to which he laughed in my face, stating "I don't care what you spend here but you go stand in that corner until the manager gets here." I reiterated that it wasn't his job to tell me where to stand, but he cut me off saying, "I certainly will tell you where to stand in MY store." Incredulous at this middle school banter and having to train the HD employees on how to count their own products, I went to the front aisle to wait for a Manager.Enter Assistant Manager Cameron. Though not very empathetic and businesslike, he took control of the situation....and discovered that I was actually correct and was returning 168 dobies - the same amount that I had purchased. We live in an age where people care very little about customer service. Jennifer wanted me to accept that I was only going to receive a partial credit because she either didn't know or care how to count the product and William backed her up. NO ONE will care at Home Depot but I am opening a Pro account at Lowes because the customer service is far superior. I will miss doing business at Home Depot as I am on a first name basis with some of their staff. There are exemplary employees at Home Depot such as Angel in electric, John in Plumbing, Juan in building materials and others. I am usually a very easy going person until someone shows a lack of care. I have also noticed that Lowes pricing is cheaper on some items. While Assistant Mgr. Cameron was taking care of the return I told him some some of my frustrations at the comments made by Jennifer and William. I repeated that I had been a loyal Pro customer for decades to which he also replied, "I don't care how much you spend." (Are they taught to say that by corporate?) I'm not looking for anyone to grovel because of the money I spend, just care enough to refund my mon

I appreciate Home Depot in general, but this Thousand Oaks store absolutely does not answer the phone at all, so it means I have to get in my car and drive there if I have a question & can't find the answer online. Also, I had a problem with a Special Order for some doors and the Store Manager (Jessica?) would not even come out to discuss it with me in person (even tho it was their employee error when it was spec'd). Instead she sent out a lower level employee to tell me she wouldnt resolve it.All of these things are easily fixed, but attitude says everything and I do not get a "can do" attitude from this HD store management.Because of this, I now head to the Camarillo location whenever I can. They DO answer their phones and their attitudes in general seem more positive.

Terrible, unfriendly & unhelpful. The manager MIKE (he says that he's the only Mike there) is very rude & incompetent. He refused to exchange my broken watering nozzle without a receipt. I told him that he should because they have the brand, still he refused. Then I said I'll be writing A NEGATIVE review & I will call corporate. His exact words, "I DON'T CARE, Bye" !!! Then I went to Lowe's across the street, exchanged my sprayer for free. All they asked for was my driver's license.I own a very successful local business. We don't treat our customers like he did.

Out of all the Home Depot's I have been to, this one is my fave. Very clean & organized. The Associates here seem to have a pride for their store. You can walk around & although there's not as much sales help on the floor these days, someone will see you & ask if you need assistance. At least they will try to help you.

Had an unpleasant experience at Home Depot last week when my daughter and I stopped in to buy plants for our patio. Let's start here: there are TWO DIY's less than half the distance from our home to this Home Depot but we came here because we all assume they're the best. So the short of it is: -Garden lady was exasperated when we asked how to get our plant potted for free. (OK) -Paid triple the price for two tiki torches that were in the wrong place (OK) -Ended up in a long-ish line to return those items (OK) -Ended up talking to Raymond (only redeeming thing about this experience) He listened and then honored the price we thought we were going to pay for those tiki torches. Bought them again. (OK) -Plant got potted because RAYMOND took charge. -Ran outta time for my other errands () Patio now looks great but..... Today my husband needed lumber for a small work project. He had the same rotten experience with store employees who were more interested in spouting off at the mouth about their weekend warrior life than doing their job, let alone doing their job well. He walked away having spent money on a product he'd have to 'make due' with because the guy who cut the wood ruined it by assuming what cut my husband wanted. Upon check out, he received more rude behavior from the cashier. Now here's the best part: LOWE'S just opened up across the road. You can literally see the front of their new store from the exit near the lumber area. Right.Across.The.Road! Get yourself to Lowe's!! Hopefully they have employees that are happy to be there and have the desire to help and not hinder you.

Overall layout of this Home Depot is great. However good luck finding anyone for special services like wood cutting. Waited for about 20 minutes after the request for someone was called over the radio 4 times. Apparently not everyone there is allowed to put safety gear on and press "on" which seems like a major point of failure. Ended up leaving and driving the 15 minutes to Lowe's in Oxnard. Waited maybe 2 minutes before getting the service I needed. I have had multiple issues with Home Depot in recent months especially when it comes to purchasing appliances. Long story short, find anywhere else and I mean literally anywhere else to order kitchen appliances before coming here. Even if you pay 10% more, it's worth not going through the hassle of waiting on a 3rd microwave to show up, a 2nd oven, a new fridge door handle because the delivery team used incorrect tools, and no sort of offer what so ever for a refund of the cost for inconvenience. Ordered bedroom furniture from Wayfair that was delivery a couple weeks later than agreed and head board was damaged, within 24 hours, new head board and 30% refund on purchase with 20% off next purchase. Now that is customer service. Take notes Home Depot. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because Nikki was amazing is handling the situation. Unfortunately she can't control what the appliance company does (the appliances don't come from Home Depot), what the delivery company does (once again.. Home Depot for some reason has nothing to do with this), and what her bosses decide is appropriate resolution. Still have yet to receive ANY sort of follow up phone call or email about the situation and if it had been resolved entirely, which is has not. Like I said, layout is great, buy appliances elsewhere (literally anywhere else, even a liquor store would be a better bet to get appliances), get wood from Lowes, and if you have a chance give Nikki (the red head) a high five because she is awesome.
