Worst place to get a permit and building and safety don't take your time seriously and the staff favors people who go there often. I do t know who check the plans but they waste people time. The lady at the building and safety just thinks she knows it all. After I told her you don't know what your talking about the lead plan person approved my plans right in front of her. She was shocked and said but ..... yeah lady it's not your job to check plans and only to take the file to the plan check person.

(July 2022) Thank you for the new land striping on Lynn Rd. I am so glad to see that the bike lane now has a small painted island separating it from the traffic lanes. I also appreciate that there are now designated right turn lanes.(November 2021) The trees behind my house on Lynn Rd. were way overgrown. I put in a request to have them trimmed. In less than a week, the trees were trimmed. The expertise seen was amazing! Huge branches were tethered to a rope to guide where they would fall. Thank YOU to the tree trimmers along with the city of TO.

I’d like to know why, after listening to a list of departments within the City, when it finally gives the option of talking to a “representative,” instead of transferring me to a person, it gives a further list of departments.

This review is solely on their phone system. I have personally been to the city hall... specifically building and safety/ planning department the people working behind the back counter are great! Awesome even! At times when I have been there it's never really busy things go by fast but when you call their phone system they drop the ball, I don't underhand how someone in this department can't pick up the phone and answer basic questions. I'm only calling because I have one question, I've called 5 times and left 5 voicemails. I know everyone in the department is not busy, even with inspectors out in the field. The supervisor or director of this department NEEDS a person or two dedicated to the phones; it really can't be that impossible. If a position isn't available they need to open a position for such purpose. Pay someone $20 an hour just to pick up the phone and have the publics questions answered. It is unacceptable how our tax money goes to halls like this and they can't even pick up their phone. It's really sad, upsetting and just frustrating. I shouldn't have to drive out to get my questions answered. I underdone they have an email system but they typically like their phones take 1-2 business day. Please create a position and hire someone, I could do it remotely from home if you need me too, contact me directly, I hope the moderators or person with the right authority sees this and if you're not the right person please pass it on.

Civic Arts Plaza has a great environment to connect with nature, yourself, and even your dog. Very clean landscaping and building/theater. Great head space cleanser

I scheduled three appointments with the city of Thousand Oaks to obtain a copy of my sons birth certificate. Upon arrival each time I was told it was not in their system and I had to go online to schedule while I did each time. Prior to that I had tried to mail in everything but my mail including check for the city was stolen. The staff has been completely unaccommodating and has not helped in anyway. Go to Ventura if possible.

Don't come here to get your Marriage License. Their office doesn't deserve your money, or want your business for that matter. Louie Vicuña and his staff cannot be relied on to fulfill their tasks or obligations. We took off work, made an appointment, arrived on time to be told that they require a utility bill to complete the process. NO WHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE or on the appointment confirmation email is this listed. The office was completely empty of anyone there for any type of service. They simply don't want to help anyone or do their jobs. Don't give them your money. Go to Santa Barbara.

Very convenient location to initiate or renew licenses. The staff was very helpful and professional to help me renew my fictitious business name.

KUDOS to the City of Thousand Oaks maintenance department. The wind damaged a maple tree on curbside of the sidewalk and blew down a 20 foot long branch and another broken branch that was stuck horizontal in the top branches of tree. I called the city at 9:30 AM and they responded within 2 hours. They did a great job removing all of the debris.
