I'm not a complainer, but I've had a bad experience 3 times now at the deli counter here. There is never a person to wait on customers at the deli. When you do get a person, they are incredibly slow. Today, the man at the deli was in the back breaking down cardboard boxes apparently. A man that was waiting with me and he had to try to get someone's attention so we could get service. The man had just come through the door with a cart full of broken down boxes. He was asked for help nicely. When he started to get the meat, the gentleman I was with quickly saw that he wasn't going to change his gloves. The employee reluctantly changed his gloves. I wish that if Ralph's is cutting down on their service they would hire more people to staff the deli and to work in the back.

Jose S. Was very helpful and knowledgeable. He is willing to help and makes sure his customers are satisfied. The fact that he can do 3 things at once and take time out to answer my questions was cool. This store is very clean and also a good place for lunch on the go. Good tasting food at the hot bar.

Old white lady at self checkout on a Sunday afternoon accused a friend of mine of theft for an item worth $1. She apologized which is good but her initial approach came off as rude. There are ppl that blatantly fill their carts up and walk out stealing items and this lady wrongfully accuses someone of theft worth $1. We will be leaving a complaint through the Better Business Bureau and other sites as well.

Cashier Laura has a very bad attitude problem, went completely off on me right in line because I did not comply with her digital coupon demands. I did not know at the time that this particular product was on digital. She is not the only rude cashier in this store and when I tried 3 days in a row to complain the phone rang over 30 times each time

I bought sushi last night and they mixed up the avocado with wasabi. Like, the wasabi was in the roll instead of avocado. Not a great experience... :(

I'm so confused reading all these bad comments. I live local and go to Ralph's sometimes two, three times a day. I have never had a bad experience with Staff, management nor fellow shoppers. The pharmacy is above and beyond professional. The florist is always refreshing, watering and putting out new plants . I am grateful for all the employee's they have always been pleasant and helpful to me.

The employees in this store have serious customer service issues. In all my life of many years, I've never felt UNCOMFORTABLE shopping in a grocery store. I get anxiety shopping in this store so I avoid it as much as possible. The Manager and staff are seriously flawed. Some are condescending but think their being friendly. Most are just unfriendly and/or unprofessional. They all seem demoralized. It really is bad. When you say "thank you" most don't respond. You can shop there everyday but they will never acknowledge you as a familiar face. It is seriously a real downer of an experience.

MUST READ!! Ralphs has always been my go to Grocery store growing up- I just had the worst Encounter with a Manager "Josh" at Ralphs, 583 N Ventu Park Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320 (805) 499-6743- I walked in with my wife and my dog- (About 6 months ago a Employee told me Hi can you put the dog in a Cart. I said sure- Great tone- No problem- ) So six months later and SOOO many visits later a woman starts ringing my wife and I and our puppy. Jokingly and Lovingly I said to him "Theres a vicious dog behind you"- Its a Tiny toy Poodle Really Small and sweet- Has never EVER barked or bitten anybody. Josh was RUDE and Smug= Josh yells at me "That dog is not supposed to be in a Cart" in a nasally voice. Looks me up and down with total disgust. I said I'm sorry a employee here said it was ok to put the dog in the basket. Josh said no it was not. Hes yelling at me like I was a piece Poo in the Gutter and that it was ok to talk to customers that way. Then he yells Bye have a good day. I said Dont talk to me like that- Josh says Im not talking to you like anything- Twenty Paying Customers are watching him Berate me like this. I said yes you are and your acting Uppity and mean. Josh yells Bye have a good day. He kept yelling BYE Have a good day at everything I said. He kept saying it. I leave while my wife is with the cashier. I realize I have all the shopping bags with me. So I turn back around and I walk back in the store where my wife is with the casher- I hand her the bags and I whisper Apologize It's that easy. He Yells out loud so the WHOLE store can hear- BYE HAVE A GOOD DAY. I turned around to face him and he turns his back on me and crosses his arms. I said whats your name. He ignores me- so now I raised my voice Whats your name. He turns around all smug with his arms crossed like a TOTAL JERK. He Says Josh and I'm a Manager here (like it was ok for him to treat me like that). The whole time he would not let me see his name tag- He was hiding it. Walking out He Keeps Yelling Bye Have a good day. I yell back Knock it off. Bye Have a Good day sir. He wont stop- Then my wife comes out being helped with this kid that works there. I ask him- What happed - why is your manager like that?- He responded - He's he's mean to everybody. So where finishing loading up the car and I see Josh walk outside looking for me??? He's walking outside of the store up and down- He just never saw me because I was loading up the car- (I thought he was going to change his Tone and say I'm sorry for talking to you like that Sir- I was wrong and I apologize to you- your wife and your dog. I did not mean to be a Ruthless jerk, Sorry for yelling and sorry for letting CUSTOMERS HEAR THAT-) So I see him walking back inside and I jog up and I whisper "Apologize Its that easy" meaning I'll forgive you. But he yells in my face Bye Have a Good day and Walks back in the store! Evil Ruthless Jerk. He should NOT be a Manager there or anywhere. All this because of a tiny puppy and he was mad about something. NOT MY STORE ANY LONGER. JOSH is Strange weirdo. Surprised Ralphs keeps someone like that employed. He must keep all the employees scared of him. Total Creep I GIVE THAT LOCATION TWO THUMBS DOWN.

I always get my deli tuna from the Newbury Park Ralph's because the Westlake Village store even though the tuna is already made. If it's old they add more mayonnaise and lemon to it. Unfortunately Newbury Park did the same thing I spent 18.99 for deli tuna They r taking premade tuna and adding so much extra mayonnaise to stretch it out it's bad not good plez go back to original recipe adding extra mayonnaise to stretch it out is awful

I gave it 2 because there's the sweetest lady at the self check-out who's amazing. Otherwise I would have given it 1 star! She was helpful & attentive. However, finding out that Josh the manager isn't in, Xiochi the Asst manager or supervisor on shift who at this time was working at the flower department handed me a jar of water and seemed annoyed that I asked for it because their potted mini roses seemed to have dry soil as I noticed after shortly paying for them. (Bought 3 of them). As I was reaching my 3rd final pot in watering, she pretty much told me off to move over so she can help the person behind me who obviously was not even in a rush and was happily chatting with me with his girlfriend. I thought she was rude and disrespectful! It's my first experience here at this store and already disappointed and will be avoiding because of Xiochi! Not a nice lady at all! I don't care if you're busy. Be nice to your paying customers!

I really love this Ralphs location. They're so clean and organized, have amazing deals that even my local Camarillo Ralphs doesn't have! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Great grocery store

I'm surprised there are any good reviews for this store. It probably the owners hiring people to leave good reviews. I've lived in Thousand Oaks for 52 years (since I was born) and This store always been a crappy store but I'll go there if I absolutely have to and in the last few times it's gotten even worse. Unfortunately it's the quickest stop for me on my way home but I will be driving out of my way to go somewhere else instead of this store. The produce is terrible! It's almost impossible to find fresh produce all their meats are ready to expire. And it's super depressing like another reviewer said. It caters to one part of the community. They don't have any light cheeses which is important to me. It's sad that they are the closest store to the freeway. I will never return and I don't care how far I have to drive.

I went into buy two items at this Ralph's for lunch tomorrow - lunch meat and cheese. I ended up grabbing some butter and mustard on impulse buy. The on duty managing associate Jesus, handled my transaction. He also bagged my groceries. I got home and realized that the lunch meat and cheese were not in the bag. (2 out of 4 items). I went back down to the garage and searched my vehicle throughout looking for the items that may have fallen out. After confirming they were not in my possession I decided to call Ralphs.The phone rang for nearly 4 minutes before anyone answered. That's like 60 rings.The manager confirmed that he still had the two items I was missing at his register. Then he said I was welcome to come and get them or get a refund.Great! After I get home from shopping and working all day - he welcomed me to use my gas and my time to drive 15 minutes back down the hill(and another 15 to get home) to go get my lunch supplies for tomorrow.So basically zero accountability. Maybe if this guy did his job better we wouldn't be reading this review right now.I only stopped there for the very two items he failed to put in my bag. Shout out to Stuart Kam the store manager for setting such a high standard for his employees. In the end Jesus did offer me $5 off the order. Obviously that didn't appease me so I felt like I needed to write this review.

This store is depressing. It caters to one side of our community. The apartments directly behind it. Variety and choice is gone. Whenever I shop here I have to go to a second store because they inevitably don't carry basic items. Very disappointed.
