This is about the reception. They called asking where I was. I had asked which office was calling. I apologized asking her to repeat which office because I have been seeing a bunch of different doctors due to medical reasons. She with a very rude tone repeated the office name and said “so are you coming or not”. I had that appointment on a different day in my calendar and had told her that. She was very rude and didn’t even try to figure out what miscommunication was. Very aggressive, very rude. Won’t go at all.

If you want a doctor who does not touch you and has been seeing you for over twelve years and does not know you, be my guest. Why have I continued to see her is the burning question. We all become complacent. Not anymore.

One of my doctors set me up for blood work at this medical office. I'd not heard of it before, so I was somewhat surprised when that was the recommended location. The lab has a separate check-in stand and staff than the rest of the practice. It was confusing for a first time visitor to understand their system. There was a wait to be acknowledged after signing in. Patients are offered seating in a hallway versus a waiting room. Eventually, a phlebotomist called my name and took me into a private room for the blood draw. He was the best part of the visit. Very personable, professional, and able to get the blood flowing (so to speak) with the smallest amount of initial discomfort possible. Definitely a seasoned pro!Mission accomplished, and they sent the results to my MD within a week's time, which was the lead time I was told would happen.

BE CAREFUL! If I could leave zero stars I would. THEY FALSIFY RECORDS! This doctor's office is beyond disorganized. I have not been to this doctor's office in years but recently received a bill for services rendered in April of this year. I am being billed for services I did NOT receive (as I have not been here in years). I called the office, which is also the worst operating system making it impossible to get ahold of anyone, and I told the billing department that I was billed for services I did not receive. They told me they would remove the charge. However, I just received a "late" warning for this same bill, even though not only is it a falsified bill, but I was told this charge would be removed from my file. This is the biggest red flag. They are likely mishandling actual patient's bloodwork, billing insurance companies and people on FALSE claims, and not correcting their mistakes. And not to mention, the doctors aren't great either and the office is slow as can be. Stay as far away as possible.

While I am always happy with everyone here at Arroyo Oaks Medical, this review is specifically addressing Dr. Amit Monga and Katie, who is Dr. Monga's nurse (and his right and left arms)! We really never thought that we would ever have the same level of respect for an internist after our doctor left this practice to go into research. We so loved and respected her. I truly knew at my first visit with Dr. Amit Monga, back in July of 2017, that I felt very comfortable and confident with his care. Over the last 5 years, I have grown to have tremendous respect for him. He is so knowledgeable, but never assumes anything. He truly listens to his patients and is a true patient advocate, which is so difficult to find these days in a world of corporate medicine. My family feels the same way. Our son has learning disabilities and Dr. Monga treats him with the same level of respect that he treats all his patients with, but always allows our son the extra time to communicate his needs and current health concerns. Not only do we highly recommend Dr. Amit Monga, but encourage everyone to consult with him if they are not satisfied with their current level of medical care. We are so grateful for his care and kindness and are excited that he is younger than us, so he will be our trusted physician and medical advocate for many years to come. Now Katie, how do we describe a nurse who is just like family to us. She has been our nurse since 2006. We cannot imagine how we could every have the same level of confidence and trust in anyone else. Katie has been so integral in helping our family stay healthy and when there is an emergency, she will bend over backwards to help in anyway she can. We have told her many times that she is never allowed to retire. Saying thank you to both Dr. Amit Monga and to Katie, seems inadequate, as they are truly professionals and have made such a significant difference for our family.

I can't speak for the entire group but if I could give a million stars to Dr. Cher Cohler I would. She is by far the best doctor I have ever had. So much so that I drive from Manhattan Beach to see her. I will also give 5-stars to the appointment and check-in desk. They were super friendly and fast.

This place has excellent doctors and medical professionals. However, the operator at the appointment desk is absolutely useless. She answers the phone and then places you on hold. What is the definition of "one moment"? It is not more than 10 minutes. I feel for their elderly patients. She needs to go. I waited until it hit 25 mins before hanging up. While on hold, I called the same line and was placed in hold. Result: No one answered the call.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. This office does not respond to calls even in an emergency. I tried calling the hot line because I thought the meds they gave were not reacting as they should, and they did not call back either. They also falsified records, stating I had blood work done and a full physical, and I had not even walked in the doors for two years, but my medicare statement said otherwise... Don't trust these people, make the trip to a better clinic. IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE.

I just visited this practice for my first appointment and left before completing registration. The practice itself is giant and smells funny. The building looks like it hasn't had a coat of paint or a visit from a handyman in decades. The office itself was dark, dreary and chaotic - I had to ask three times to finally find the window associated with the doctor I was to see. I started filling out the paperwork to see the doctor, got to the second page, and found a binding arbitration agreement that must be signed to be seen! There is no way I'm signing away my legal protection against malpractice from a doctor I've never even met. Unreal! When I brought this up to the front desk, they said that some of the doctors don't care about this agreement, but I have a hard time trusting a doctor who needs a legal document to protect himself from the quality of his work. No thank you! If you're looking for a doctor's office, I suggest looking somewhere smaller. This place was a very negative experience that cost me a couple of hours of work and hassle. Save yourself the trouble.

Would give this medical clinic 0 stars if I could. One of their nurses asked my girlfriend if she was going to abort her baby when she was just there to get a professional pregnancy test. That is the most insane thing Ive ever heard. She doesn't even know if she's pregnant yet. That is why she is there in the first place and something that is personal and none of this nurses business. I hope this office does something because no one in a professional field such as medicine should talk to a patient this way. I Will also be contacting your licensing board

Called to make an appointment for an ear ache. They said I had a balance of over $100 from 2014! This is the first time I'm being told about this, over 7 years later. They said to call the insurance company to figure it out and there's nothing they can do about it but they can't schedule an appointment with the balance. The billing department lady was very rude and telling me I should be in collections because of this. Not something I need to be dealing with when my 3 year old was just diagnosed with Leukemia.

Surprised to read some of the comments here. I have been going to Arroyo Oaks Medical for at least 15 years now. Never put on hold for anything but a few minutes . Always returns phone calls. Almost always on time for appointments. Dr Cohler listens and is thorough. And spends adequate time with her patients. Her assistant-Susan- is very attentive. Both are kind and professional. Not treated like a number, but a person seeking care. I like that lab blood tests can be done on site along with X-rays. Never had a inappropriate billing dispute, unlike most medical providers.

This office is always running late and is so outdated. Expect to wait at least an hour past your appointment time before seeing a doctor. They have no respect for time or urgency.

I had the same experience as everyone else regarding their admin staff, billing and phone issues. I got a call regarding an outstanding balance on my account on the DAY OF statement I ultimately never received, asking me to pay it. When I called the billing dept about this. I was told they don't make calls like that to collect payment. Well, the voicemail in my inbox proves otherwise. They are so outdated, nothing is electronic! As for the doctor I saw, I was not impressed. I had an ultrasound of my thyroid and she didn't even bother to call with my results or follow up in any way regarding said results. I had to call the office (2 weeks later!) to find out they were "nothing to be concerned about".. the heck?? Would be considerate to discuss the results in any event. She didn't seem personable. Almost an hour late for telemed appt, no acknowledgement of being so late. I understand you're busy, but have some courtesy. I'll be looking elsewhere for a GP.

I went to see Dr. Russ Hines at Arroyo Oaks and did not even get past the waiting room door when an office manager told me that their lawyers required all patients to sign an arbitration agreement. A binding arbitration agreement is something you sign at the beginning of a legal relationship, not a doctor patient relationship. Matter of fact, California medical Association states right on their website that an arbitration agreement is not something a doctor should force a patient to sign and that they believe in patient choice. I've been to other doctors in the past and I've never sued anyone in my life, and any doctors whose office has an arbitration agreement has made it optional in my past experience. This is a very bad sign that a doctor would refuse care until the patient signs away their rights to sue for medical malpractice. Of course no one goes into a relationship with a physician thinking they would commit malpractice but l have been a registered nurse for 30 years and have seen a lot of things happen. And any Doctor Who would refuse to see me on this basis is scary to me. Why would the office manager state implicitly that they had a meeting with their attorneys and all the doctors decided that they would require arbitration agreements to be signed? I'll let you be the judge of that. Unfortunately, I left Dr. Hines's office without being seen And having had medical care denied to me.
