Just want to give kudos to the gentleman that worked the day after Christmas 2023. He was so kind and got my folks into a car in a pinch. I hope the owner sees this and knows that his employee was great. I unfortunately didn’t get his name. But I hope he knows he made our day by getting my parents into a car promptly and got them to their destination to visit a friend with cancer. There was initially an issue with the reservation but he made it happen. Thank you again.

I was hesitant to reserve a car here based on other reviews I read, however I gave it a shot. Robert was pleasant and processed the transaction quickly and efficiently. About 2 months later I needed another rental and had the same experience. This is a small operation with a limited amount of vehicles to rent and usually only has 1 person working. I wouldn’t expect the same experience you would get at an airport location.

This location has some great customer service!! They take their time with their customers and always try to accommodate them the best way they can! Highly recommend renting from this Budget location.

Awful place! We reserved a car with them online after 5pm and when we came to the store at the agreed time the very next day, the reservation was not honored because we made it after 5pm . What?? Why have an online reservation service, if your reservation is not accepted? Also, the car that we reserved was never on the lot to begin with, so it was NEVER available. Their online service isn’t real!

Never happened like this with other car rental companiee before. We reserved the car two months ahead, and it took over two hours of waiting in their office to pickup the car. It wasn't busy. The guy, Robert was very rude too, maybe because I am a minority and a woman?

STOP. PUBLISHING IN PUBLIC INTEREST.!If you want a rental vehicle look elsewhere.Facts learned from my recent rental from Budget/Avis here..1. Booking and a confirmed reservation does not mean there is a car waiting for you when you arrive promptly.2. Prepaying a rental will reduce your cost a bit, but will NOT again guarantee a rental. Surprise!!3. Prepaid rental contracts cannot be modified by the rental office here, they ask you to contact customer care. When you call customer care they also tell you they are helpless. So you wonder who can help ??4. Cars are delivered dirty. When asked to clean a dangerously dirty windshield, i got a response to use the wiper fluid and wash with wipers on my own.5. For a 11.30 rental pickup, I reached at 11.25 and car was not ready. And was delivered to me at 12.20 after spending lots of energy on calls with customer care and rental office. Even they both were arguing at a point which was painfully funny.In conclusion..Book here if only your rental car need is actually not really needed. You may or may not get a car which you agreed upon on the rates you agreed upon. GOOD LUCK!

My relative from Italy wanted to rent a car we pulled into this location it was very sketchy from the beginning then got worse. Remember this guy has traveled all over the world with no problem renting a car. We walked out not trusting this individual that was assisting us. Beware of this Budget location

I needed a car suddenly and was relieved to find there was a place that was open on Sunday. Made the reservation the night before and received a confirmation message and a corresponding charge to my account. The day of pickup I drove over to the location; cars are there, office is dark. Turns out the pickup time I was given was the exact time the office closes on Sunday. I call the service number and the reps cannot find the confirmation number I was given in their system. The kicker? There is still the same amount charged to my account!The best that can be said was that the representatives were polite and assisted me to start a case to resolve the issue. That does not take away from the facts that this company has wasted my time and is still attempting to take my money without providing the service.

I was in need of a medium to long-term car rental starting Saturday 10/30/21. A friend gave me a ride to the Budget Rent-a-Car located at 389 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd in Thousand Oaks, California. When we arrived, we followed signs to the office, which was only accessible through a parking lot that was full and very tight to navigate. We wound up at a dead end, with very little room to maneuver. We finally found a way to turn around, but the manager of the location, Robert Montoya, was standing in the middle of the space, talking to another customer. He completely ignored what was happening in his place of business, and despite a potentially unsafe situation, didn't bother to move, nor ask the other customer to move. My friend managed to maneuver his vehicle as carefully as possible around them without damaging his vehicle or the parked rental cars. When I got out of the car, though I hadn't said anything to him, Mr. Montoya said, "What's wrong with your friend's driving?" I responded that the space was tight, and it would've been great if they had stepped aside a little. He replied with an attitude "No, there is plenty of space." I was sure he was a customer, not an employee, because who would treat a customer this way right off the bat? I walked away as he continued criticising my friend's driving, because I didn't want to waste time and energy arguing with someone so rude. As he was still ranting in my direction, I asked "Is this the office?" pointing to a small room blocked by a folding table. Mr. Montoya then rudely replied "I'm with a customer," at which time I realized he was actually an employee of Budget Rent-a-Car/Avis. I returned to my friend's car and we left, because I was not giving my business to someone who treats customers this way. Later on, I called back and asked for his name and his manager's name. He gave me his name, Robert Montoya, and said he IS the manager. In disbelief that an employee of a major rental company would treat customers in this manner, I went on Yelp to see how this location has been rated. What I found was even more upsetting. There are multiple reviews from 2017-present, naming Mr. Montoya specifically, for his horrible customer service--and in one case he apparently even threatened a customer to settle their differences "after work." I find it very disappointing that this person is still operating a branch of a major company like Budget/Avis, and we will be making our future car rental plans accordingly.

No Stars if possible. Stay away from this place. Horrible customer service. Beware of Robert, he is nasty, rude and intimidating. Im surprised he is still there.

I have been with Budget for many years as loyal customer and happy with all the previous rent. This place is the worst I have ever experienced with. So bad customer service, they have no sense how to treat customer but acting like mafia. Never come to here.
